She went to redeem it last week, only to be told they would not honor it because the actual gift card was apparently not inside the envelope we were given at the time of purchase. Tina looked up the purchase on her computer and confirmed that the gift certificate had been purchased, had never been redeemed, and that the receipt clearly showed the purchase date, the $200 amount, and the gift card number that we believe was never provided to us. Despite having all of this documentation proving the gift certificate was legitimately purchased and had never been used, she refused to honor it. I tried to reason with her, explaining that their own records proved the gift certificate was valid and unused, but she would not budge. Good customer service means working with customers to resolve situations like this, especially when your own records support their claim. Instead, we were simply turned away. To make matters worse, the facility itself did not appear to be very clean, which is always a red flag for a massage spa. We will never return, and I certainly cannot recommend this business to anyone else. Losing a customer over a situation that could have been resolved so easily is unfortunate and completely avoidable.

I would give 5 stars for the spa and three for the rest of the resort, due to the following: This resort is no longer a Club Med location. It was bought by a local investment group and there seems to be some poor communication and training issues within the organization. When I went, the guard at the gate told me to check in at the front desk for directions to the spa. The person I spoke with at the front desk was very confused and wanted me to buy a day pass. However, you don't have to buy a day pass to get a massage at the spa, and you don't have to check in at the front desk (at least that wasn't the situation when I went). I just drove over to the side of the parking lot near the spa (as they eventually instructed) and went in for my massage. This was admittedly a few months ago, so hopefully they've got it figured out by now.

When you arrive, you are given a robe, sandals and locker. Then you go to the Zen Garden where you begin to unwind. After being greeted by your massage therapist, the experience begins with a foot soak and massage as they welcome you into the room and make you feel at ease. Then they give you time to get comfortable on the massage table. The next step was aromatherapy to start your relaxation and bring you to "Provence." None of the scents are overwhelming and the products used are good for sensitive skin. BE ZEN: Following the massage, you are led into the Zen garden. This is the most rejuvenating place, like a hidden oasis! You are offered tea and water and given a tray with mixed raisins and almonds.
