Paul did not make her wait long and got right to business. He was friendly, respectful and professional. His demeanor was awesome and he was a vibe. Now I try to be a person that is true to my word. I met representatives of this salon at a local women's event and they were promoting a service with the purchase of another. I looked at the staff and noticed that no one looked like me, but they said that there are staff there that can handle my hair texture. Just so you know, I have very tightly coiled hair and so a different way of caring for it can be necessary. I made my appointment to myself as a birthday present and others were like you are taking a chance and I let them know that I am keeping my word and giving them a try. Now upon entering the salon, I did receive a smile, not much but nonetheless, I was greeted and proceeded to the back. I was happy about getting the service done and it was a pleasurable experience. I do not think the stylist knew or remembered just how long my appointment was going to be. He seemed to have had to rush through with straightening my hair. It was cute and all, but too poofy. I am used to it being straightened but still beautiful. The visit was pricey and of course it was a setting where they attempted to upsell you by getting you to purchase products. The current employees are pretty lazy and rude. The first time I bleached my hair was amazing at first. However, going back to root touch-up at this place was my biggest mistake. In the second appointment, the hair stylist didn't match my roots and the person lied to me saying "it didn't match because it's old bleached hair. So the person offered me their expensive hair product to get rid of the brassy blonde. I didn't want to complain or make a scene. Hence, I accepted it and hope it will be fixed in the next appointment. Finally the third appointment, the hair stylist bleached my hair again but the person left me unattended at the hot dryer. Thus, the bleach on my hair and being in the hot dryer for so long that it melted some of my hair. I didn't notice it until I washed my hair the next day. I was crying when I felt the chuck of hair falling off my head. At this moment, I finally stood up for myself and called them to demand a refund. They accepted my refund and offered me a different hair stylist for my next visit. I cut some of my hair but still wanted the silver blonde hair. When it was a good time to bleach my hair again I called them to schedule an appointment with the hair stylist they recommended to me. However, the person said to me their system is done and I have to wait for an hour to get the appointment. So I called them again in two hours but the system was still down. I gave up and said to them I'll just call them tomorrow. The person on the call actually thanked me. The next day I called them again to set up an appointment. However, the person said "hold on for a second" and hung up on me. Now, I realized they were pretending to be nice but in fact they were mean to me. Therefore, if someone wants to bleach their hair I don't recommend this place as they don't care for their customers well being and will do anything to convince their clients to buy their expensive hair product. read more

The staff that runs the front desk is always clueless. Something is always down or not working. Was VERY upset that I had taken 1/2 day off work to get my much-needed hair cut and colored. No one is available to talk to me except to say sorry. Several people were standing and having long conversations. But NO one could offer up a solution. read more

Went there for several years to same guy who was great and did amazing. Hair is amazing! However, customer service is lacking. I had to reschedule typical appointments and broke them into 2 different days as it was me and 3 children. ( total of about 400 before tip) but they changed the appointment time without telling me. I arrived 15 minutes late according to them, but on time according to my text from the Buissness. They refused to see my child for a haircut. I could not get everyone except one child's haircut, so was forced to cancel all. Loss for them and will not be back. I rescheduled to help them out then they treat me bad. read more

Dont bother going here if you are a guy. Haircuts not worth $50 and terrible service. They just do not care about your business. I went here for years and my stylist started doing a bad job so I left. When she quit, I went back. Had a 1:15 appointment and they called 15 min in advance to reschedule to 1:45. When I arrived they wanted to reschedule again. When I said I wouldn't be back, receptionist said bye, have a nice day without batting an eyelash. Must happen a lot. This is the best hair salon I have ever been to. When I arrived I was greeted by a very friendly and informative woman at the front desk. They offer a wide variety of beverages including multiple wines. When discussing what I wanted done to my hair I felt heard and understood. Brian was awesome and very knowledgeable about how to get my desired look. The woman who washed and toned my hair was very friendly and let me know what she was doing every step of the way. The salon itself was very nice, well laid out and nobody tried to push product on me. I was offered a drink, coffee, water or soda which is always nice. The lady who shampooed my hair (sorry I don't remember her name) was excellent and gave me a wonderful scalp massage while applying the conditioner. My cut was done by Paul Ivey. He was very good. This is the best haircut I've had in years. I went in not knowing what I wanted but knowing I needed a new look. He asked me questions and then made a recommendation. It turned out so much better than I expected. I feel like I look 10 years younger and several days after the cut it is still looking great. He was also just fun to talk too. The cut was pricey ($65) but considering how it turned out it was worth every pennyit and I will be going back. read more

After spending about $700 dollars at Davis Clay in the last year on haircuts, products, tips, jewelery and gift items, and after having many great experiences in which I was a repeat customer, I was asked to leave and never come back. Upon return to the salon to have a less than perfect haircut fixed by another stylist, I was treated really nicely by my stylist Valena. (I ignored the fact that they took me to the station in the very back corner of the salon) At some... point, Valena was having trouble understanding what I wanted- a simple bob- so she went and got Melissa, I suppose she was the Manager? Melissa seemed angry- the way she was stomping her feet, manhandling me and speaking very loudly made me completely uncomfortable. I was literally shaking. I brought many pictures as I thought I was supposed to do and Melissa kept telling me that she has been a hairdresser for 28 years and didn't need to see any pics, and didn't need for me to tell her anything. I apologized many times for not being able to get my point across and thanked Valena for her time. I never even said one bad word about the stylist who had previously cut my hair. Upon leaving the salon, the owner came over, shook my hand and asked me to leave and never come back. I could have understood if I was loud or upset or mean, but even though I was dissatisfied, I never lost my cool. I suppose Davis Clay doesn't like to fix their mistakes???? I cried. It really hurt my feelings. I got a $100.00 gift certificate to Davis Clay for Christmas and I'm not sure what is going to happen with that. Also, there was hinting that I just wanted a haircut for free, and yes, my last haircut was a free gift for my birthday, but I also tipped her $25.00... I don't understand. I think the way they treated me was completely unprofessional. Just beware.... if you get a bad haircut at Davis Clay, DON"T ASK THEM TO FIX IT!!!!! They will get mad at you and cause a big scene!!!!! read more

Just got my hair cut by Justin. He did exactly what I wanted even when I didn't know how to explain it. I don't know how he compares to the other stylists but it doesn't matter he has my business from now on. It's a bit pricey depending on what you're used to ($40) but worth every penny. I was referred here by a friend and was completely blown away by the experience. All the staff members are so friendly and accommodating. Liz did my hair and she was so nice, she talked with me about what I wanted and told me exactly what she was going to do to achieve that before she even shampooed me. I have curly hair that I want to look good straight as well, so my hair is sometimes hard to cut for both ways but she knew exactly what to do to give me everything I wanted.
