I have wanted to love Bella Vita ever since moving to Germantown from the west coast but unfortunately I can't ever go in without getting the stare down or attitude. I've bought several household goods, pj sets and gifts here almost feeling like I had to, just to not be followed like I'd steal something. I'd much rather spend my money somewhere I'm not getting eye rolls upon entry or the up and down from a high school student, who unfortunately is being taught to judge people for the way they look, sad. And a word to the owners- a person with disposable income doesn't always = a certain "look", most the time the richest person in the room is wearing jeans and a T-shirt, please teach your managers and your staff this. They are trash. they don't honor their candle card. they barely know what they talking about. don't waste your time. I gave them back the card because they don't honor their commitment. Came here specifically because I need small gifts that would be wrapped. Looked around and was pestered every 5 mins. When I purchased $75 dollars worth of pottery they told me they only had a box for the larger bowl I purchased (which really was 6" in diameter) but not the 4x4 square piece of pottery. Which had no logic considering the 4x4 piece would fit in the same size box as the 6" diameter bowl. Then either the manager or owner said that they were running low on boxes. After being persistent the cashier (the same one that told me they did not have a box) did indeed find a box in the back. I will likely not be returning here. Shopped here because I have received some pieces of pottery, but I will not return because of this POOR customer experience. The cashier that wrapped my gifts would not give me eye contact as she handed me my gifts. ***Less than 12 hours later....the owner called me and was clearly irritated that I wrote this. I told her the review was self explanatory and I will not return it is that simple. I told her that I was at work and couldn't talk. After saying goodbye to her I became more concerned that she cross referenced this review with the data I gave the cashier about me. Absolutely creepy and scary. Yelp is a public forum to express your opinion on services. There is an expectation that by stating your experience you will not be contacted in any other forum outside of yelp. As such, as of this evening my name will be not be traceable. Ridiculous! read more

Be sure if you buy it, you want it. They will exchange within a limited period of time but don't expect a credit back on your charge card. Sales person assured me I could return and get refund, but when I returned two days later, they said only store credit or exchange. Good store, but not the same tone if you return something. Shouldn't have to fight for something so simple. Other than returns a nice store. It's not cheap, so you'd expect a little more customer service with their customers. read more

This is my favorite gift store in the greater Memphis area. It's probably a good thing they aren't any closer to my house as I would go there all the time. They have a carefully curated selection that is thoughtful, artistic and inspiring. Whether needing a wedding gift or just a treat for yourself, there is no better store. Beautiful jewelry options like Rolando bracelets or something locally inspired. They were the first people in the area to recognize the uniqueness of Good Earth Pottery. They can help you create the bedroom of your dreams width luxurious Pine Cone Hill linens. Add a framed painting by a talented local artist to grace your walls or the most unique rustic picture frames in the area. Bella Vita's displays are always worth the trip. It is obvious how much joy they find in their work when you walk through the door. The staff is always delightful and their attention to detail is remarkable. They have a limited but wonderful furniture selection but also most things any bride would need to complete her registry from table linens to glassware. Finding Bella Vita online was like finding a glittering jewel on the beach. After searching the Internet and local stores for hours in search of a particular candle for a dear one, I found their site and called the store. The charming staff member tried very hard to help me locate The One from their sources, but when it could not be found, she asked me some pertinent questions about the giftee's tastes and then suggested a couple excellent options from among their stock. The items arrived in short order, beautifully and safely packaged and even included a lovely, handwritten thank you note! All my interactions with Bella Vita have been friendly and professional and they just have such a lovely way of making a customer feel special, a rare thing in these times. We have a lot of gift stores here in California and there are about a billion more online, but based on my happy experience, if Bella Vita has the item I am looking for, they will be my first and only stop!
