We had a great experience here. When looking for somewhere to get hard bottoms for our now 1 year old! When we walked in we were immediately greeted and guided to the shoe area. The sales associated was super kind. She sized our baby boy's feet and then assisted us with trying on two sizes. We found the ones that worked for us. The quality and fit are amazing. I was so excited to put his little bells on them. Too cute and nostalgic. The have so many cute items for boys and girls. They also have toys and other adorable items for your littles. Oh and let me not forget that we enrolled in the shoe reward program. Lastly, they invited us back to an upcoming Easter event and encouraged us to follow them on Yelp. Great experience! read more

I'm always so hopeful and excited to support local businesses. However, from the moment I walked in, I encountered rude customer service at best. I am unsure of the motivation for treating customers so coldly. Maybe it is unusual for a dad to bring their kid in to this store to look at toys and clothes. I would shop here every single day if I could...they have such a cute selection of children's clothing. I'm a sucker for smocked bishop dresses and I've seen some beautiful ones here, along with matching hair bows. I also love the jumpers, jon-jons and bubbles. I could probably spend my whole paycheck on my daughters' wardrobes here. They also have a nice selection of infant clothing, bibs, and accessories. It's a nice place to shop for that perfect baby gift. A bit pricey, but the clothing really is fine quality, and the sales professionals are very welcoming and friendly. read more

All Memphis' well dressed babies shop at Cottontails. Or at least their mom's do. :) This is a very upscale little boutique featuring designer type clothing for babies and young children. And the clothes are just so cute! My kids are all older now, but when they were little, I would drool over the smocked dresses and little boy knickers, all in the cutest of colors and designs. And all with a nice little price tag as well! I still shop here for baby gifts though. They have adorable layette items and nice gifts. read more

I love the clothes here. While I do agree with previous reviews about lack of boys items..that is how it is everywhere...So my stars won't reflect that. I also see in a previous review about the snottiness of employees here..I agree there have been times I feel the snotty entitled air in from a couple of ladies. But I think that is in other stores too and restaurants and everyday life. It has not been bad enough to affect my review. Actually I have been helped tremendously by the staff. They were so very helpful numerous times: 1-I was looking for a specific style of bib for a birthday. They went out of their way to search while I was on the phone. When I arrived they helped me...like 3 people, to find the perfect one. They all then helped me with monogramming (some of the cheapest monogramming in memphis btw!) The lady that mopnograms even delivered it because of the time restraints we were on to our house the day of the party! 2-when iso of gifts they have always gone out of the way to help me find the perfect items. I know I mentioned the monogramming but worth mentioning again. It is awesome and the cheapest I have found anywhere in Memphis! This store is BIG for a boutique and very well organized. This is the biggest plus, imo. You don't feel crammed in while looking for sweet outfits. They have a huge selection of shoes including squeaky shoes! :) They have many diaper bags you can only find there locally. The clothing is pricey (as expected in a boutique) but they do have sales and if you follow them on social media you will get tips about when big sales are happening! note: I would have given 4 but I am giving 5 stars to raise their stars due to a ridiculous, imo, one star review. read more

I'm knocking Cotton Tails down a star because I have revisited with my brand new mom-eyes. I joke that I could review everywhere I've visited prior to having a child and it would be a totally different outcome, but the joke isn't that far off. This place has some spectacular clothing...for little girls. When I visited the first time I thought it was a fair representation of both genders, but now that I have a boy of my very own I notice that there isn't quite the same selection for them. I first stopped back in here after I found out I was having a boy. It really knocked the wind out of my sails. The section of infant boys (size 0-6 months) is so small compared to the girls' sections. I know it is this way in every major department store as well, but I came to expect more from a place like this. It is designer clothing for kids. I know designers make things for male children, correct? I probably would have even shelled out the hefty price on those designer clothes tags if they had a better selection. I'll revisit once he's a toddler as they have a bit bigger section of boys clothing for that age range. Still not huge, but big enough to offer something nicer than what you will find at all the other children's clothing stores in town. read more

So this review is actually kind of funny but not really funny I just get amused & numb when situations like this happen at this date and time it's 2018 like really. So I reached out to cottontails via email and phone. an older lady answered yesterday evening around 6 PM and I inquired about if they ever use their space to host children's events she replied yes but it depends I told her I was looking for a local children's boutique that would be interested in cohosting an upcoming gifting suite experience. we've partnered up with a really big brand called _______ as soon as I said ______ she cut me off and implied no no I don't think that would work. I pause with confusion like really I didn't even complete my whole sentence or give you further details she said well I just don't feel like it will fit in our scope (What scope is that ma'am because now I'm getting a little offended, like does that scope not include black people or is my voice making you uncomfortable. ) I said OK are you the owner and she said no I said well can I get the owners email to possibly forward a proposal so that she can review it in detail and let me know if it's something with in her scope. When she gave me the email she rushed the spelling & seemed to just want to hurry up and get me off the phone. I like this place. They stock the best-made, cutest, and most unique clothes for children anywhere in Memphis. When I'm looking for something special for my son, I head here. I've always been greeted my multiple personnel, but I've also never felt crowded. The prices are higher than Target or Gap, but if you catch them on a sale (they announce them via mail and on their FB page), it's actually pretty typical department-store pricing. Recently I picked up two warm shirts and two pairs of pajamas for $60. And if I had a little girl, I would definitely buy one of their frilly dresses! read more

If you don't think you fit a "high profile, rich, white, upper class couple" don't even bother going. Yes, I am a 22 year old Caucasian male, with a lot of tattoos. First time there, and definitely would've been somewhere I would've gone for a long long time. As we're shopping around, we were constantly being hovered over as if she thought I was going to steal something. It wasn't as if she was trying to help us, because there wasn't even any conversation as to help pick stuff out or hold stuff at the counter. My wife and myself had just found out what gender our baby was going to be that morning, and were excited to buy stuff for her, unfortunately an unpleasant first experience. And to top it off, I had accidentally almost tripped on a chair, and I had apologized for it after it happened. Her response "Just be careful." Lmao what a sorry excuse of a store, ran by some wanna be, Boujee ass old white lady's. Oh wait, it doesn't stop there! They have a lot of product that are "bundled" together but then priced separately?! We picked out a trio of newborn onesies, which were all on the same hanger, and at checkout they tell me "just so you know, these are all separate" and then she pulls out a dress with a bow on the shoulder strap, and lets me know those are separate as well. Some of those things would not have normally bothered me, but it was a big day, and things just kept adding up. Cotton Tails is a relatively large children's boutique, but most of the items are for girls. Make no mistake- I'd probably go broke if I had daughters, but when looking for play clothes for my boys, the selection was very small. Not only is the selection lacking, but most of the appliqued items can be found for cheaper, better quality, and more unique styles at online boutiques. If you're looking for Tea, it can be found here, but don't expect a big selection. They also carry the precious Jellycat stuffed animals (the only ones I'll let my boys have), but again, selection is small. The staff can be snooty. They think they know the clientele that will be spending money and cater to them. During one trip, I witnessed a grandmother and her granddaughter who literally had a personal shopper at their disposal whose duties also included tying the little girl's shoes and wiping her runny nose. The saleswoman made a big sale, though, so I guess it all paid off for her. Meanwhile, I was followed around the store by 3 different saleswomen like I was trying to steal something, yet when I got to the register to pay, it took FOREVER for anyone to acknowledge me. Another time, I had great service in the shoe department with the saleswoman willing to bring out any shoe in my son's size I remotely showed interest in, while another time, I could barely get anyone to measure his foot and bring out the one shoe I knew I wanted. They do send emails and post notices on Facebook about sales, special events, and other store promotions, like having ceramic handprints made, so it is nice that you can go on specific days. read more

This store may have gotten more stars for its product lines but the attitude and air of snootiness displayed by its employees brought the rating down to one star. I walked in and wasn't greeted by any of the FIVE women standing around the counter chatting. This may be a small gesture overlooked by some but when I'm in your store for a list of items that are going to cost me quite a chunk of money, the least I expect is a "hello". When I approached the women to ask a question about one of their product lines, I was given a blank stare by one while another looked as though she was being bothered. Since I spend half my year in LA I'm not confined to this boutique store for my child's clothes and am relieved I do have choices. Needless to say, after this experience I'll simply purchase online when I am not in LA. read more

I have shopped both Cotton Tails and Sachi in years past when my own daughters were young and have always been impressed with the selection. I was eager to shop today, looking for some cute clothes for my newborn great-nephew, since I have not been in the store in about 15 years. Upon entry, a nice salesperson asked if I needed help and she directed me to the boys department. As I looked and tried to decide on sizes and items, about 10 minutes later, another salesperson asked if I needed help, but I replied no. Then another 10 minutes passed and by this time I had about 6 outfits in my arm, but still trying to decide on the sizes and styles, when another salesperson asked if I needed help. I told her no, that I was still deciding and she told me that I could decide up front at the counter. I told her that I would rather decide in the department amongst the clothes. I was trying to pick out an outfit for each size, i.e. 3-6 months, 6-9 months, 12 months, etc. But I got the impression that instead of trying to "help" me, they wanted me to either pay for everything or leave. So I did the latter, I re-hung all of my selections and left. I do not need snooty salespeople! And it's too bad because they lost out on an at least $250 sale!! read more

I like the store, the clothes are over priced. Also, the ladies that work in the store very prejudice. I am so glad that they have hired a lady of color. The last time I went to the store I was very pleasantly surprised. But again I say, the merchandise is overly priced. The store as a whole needs to work on making customers of color feel more welcome. read more

I received an email from the business owner asking me to call her. Upon calling, the owner apologized for the price difference between her store and the comparison store. After a few minutes of discussion, she offered to mail me a check with the price difference. I am very happy with the diaper bag, I've even washed it in the washing machine and even though I've used it daily the past 4 months, it still looks brand new. I am now a happy customer! read more
