My husband and I made a reservation well in advance and checked into this RV park today. We have…read morebeen camping around multiple parts of Florida for the last month and we also went on a cruise out of Port Canaveral. I would classify us as seasoned RV'ers and we are now on our way back to our home in Charlotte, NC. Our reservation here is for 4 days. Upon arrival, the host showed us to our site. We are parked directly in front of something called serenity hall - so during the conversation I casually said is that where the bath house is? I was then told that they do not have shower facilities available; nor are the bathrooms working currently. He said they used to have shower facilities available but shut everything down after Covid because people were stealing the toilet paper??? I explained to him that we absolutely must have a bathhouse with a shower and toilet facilities. He told me to call the office. I did so and spoke to a lady who I found out was his wife. I explained our predicament and asked if we could void our reservation and move to another park nearby that offered full services. This woman was as rude as she could possibly be. She went on and on about the fact that their website does not say that they have a bath house. I told her in all the years we've been RVing I have never had a full service RV park that has full hookups not have a bathhouse available. It is standard with a full hook up in a RV park. She continued to argue with me and I ultimately told her that I wanted to leave and would like a refund. She flat out refused saying that it was my fault for not looking more closely at their website. She even went on to say that lots of reviews they have also complain about the fact that they have no bathhouse. They would not give us a refund, even though the park is clearly 3/4 empty. This has been by far one of the WORST experiences in dealing with an RV Park I have ever had. Most RV parks I have visited go out of their way to be friendly and offer a good experience. Not so here. After hanging up the phone I went and looked more closely at their website - and in BIG BOLD letters they state no EV charging available - but not once do they say NO BATH HOUSE available! Absolutely ridiculous!! We will NOT be back and I would highly encourage others to stay away too. Just FYI - There is another RV park located close-by called Lake Harmony RV Park. Not only do they offer the exact same amenities as this place - they have a full bath house AND lower prices!! Call them at 912-832-4338. I will be using them in the future. The people running McIntosh Lake RV Park should be ashamed of themselves!! It's very obvious to me they take advantage of their customers - and it is all about getting their money; not about the customer having a good experience.

Then I was driving down the highway and found this little gem! Ms CINDY was really nice lady. I stayed here a week and I would stay again. There's no restrooms-showers-laundry rooms. I never use those at RV parks anyways. Full Hook ups. 30 amp $25.00 50 amp $30.00. Free Wi-Fi that worked great

And Miss Cindy the owner was a joy. Pure southern hospility at it's best. For these two reasons I am giving this place 5 stars. For the campground itself, I would give 3 and a half to four stars because of site size and road noise. As all other reviewers stated, this place is no frills (no laundry, pool, fire rings, etc). So don't bring your kids and expect them to be entertained. There are only 12 sites (I think) and you are all lined up in a row with maybe 10 to fifteen feet of space between you. But you don't feel too cramped. At least we didn't feel like that in our site #7. And no one is in front of you except a couple of beautiful live oak trees. So...here is what you DO get: Water, electric and sewer Pretty level sites Great free Wi-fi Good cell service with ATT Good pull in and pull out room for our 43' motorhome and toad without having to disconnect Wonderful areas for walking your pets You are an hour or less from Savannah, Brunswick, Jekyl and St. Simon Islands You are blocks away from "the smallest church in America" - a great photo stop You are 7 miles from the Shrimp Shack where a pound of heads on shrimp was $3.75 and it was delicious! You are 10 minutes from the really nice Bi-Lo grocery store in Darien (also a cute town) The only con was also the convenience of being right off Highway 17. There was obviously traffic during what most would call rush hour in the mornings and evenings; but other than that we slept great even with the windows open! In fact it was so quiet at night I was able to hear a hoot owl off in the distance. All in all this was a great place for us to stay. We were headed to Florida but knew it would be almost impossible to find a campground or RV park with an opening for the weekend. So this was a great stop where we had time to do some internet research (with the great Wi-Fi) and find a couple of options to head to on Sunday. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Miss Cindy!

Our pull‑through site had full hookups (30 & 50 amp service) and plenty of room to maneuver, making setup easy and stress‑free. Each site is beautifully lined on both sides with magnolia bushes and trees, providing a surprising amount of privacy and a peaceful, park‑like feel. We also appreciated that each site has a separate spigot for washing your rig or vehicle, which is a thoughtful and convenient feature. One of the biggest advantages for us was the easy access to I‑95. We used this campground as a two‑night stopping point to break up our drive from Myrtle Beach to Miami, and the location was perfect--quick on and off the highway without the noise you might expect. The amenities here truly stand out. There are multiple bath houses and laundromats, all clean and convenient, plus a well‑stocked store with RV supplies and LP gas. The entire resort is handicap accessible, which is clearly reflected in the layout and facilities. There's no shortage of things to do--fishing on the lake, relaxing by the swimming pool, or enjoying shuffleboard, horseshoes, and the game room. The pavilion fire rings, dock, and conference center add even more versatility. What really sets this place apart is the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. When we had an issue, they quickly referred us to a local mobile RV repair technician, who was wonderful and took great care of us. This campground is excellent as an overnight or travel stop, but it's so well‑kept, quiet, and amenity‑rich that we would absolutely recommend it for a longer stay as well. We would happily return.

The DeVaul Henderson Lake Loop (DHLL) seemed to be the best bet due to length of the trail. When you are on Hwy 144 and you get to the roundabout, turn in on Veterans Memorial Parkway, where the Bryan County Administrative Complex is. The trail is located right next to it. You can't miss it. Parking - You can pretty much park anywhere on the grass along Veterans Memorial Parkway. I like to park toward the other end, by the elementary school, where you see the 4 wooden posts. Trail Description - From the 4 wooden posts, down to the paved path, the ground is dirt and a mix of sand and pine needles, and not paved, but that distance is minimal. It is surround by tall trees. Once you get down to the paved part, the signs indicate that it's a 0.5 mile loop. This loop has 3 different connection points to other parts of DeVaul Henderson Recreation Park (to soccer fields and restrooms) and I believe to the side of the Bryan County Administrative Complex. The connection points are located on the opposite side of Veterans Memorial Parkway. There are park benches all around the lake, as well as flotation devices in case someone gets in and needs some saving. There was a unique bench (kind of like one of those stone benches you see in gardens) and it had a sign "The Murphy Bench" that was placed there in memory of an infant boy. How tragic, but so touching. Difficulty Level - Easy for all ages. It is stroller and wheelchair friendly too, but might experience some bumpiness when going down that first small stretch to the paved path. Beware - There are signs that say "Beware of Wildlife". I am assuming they mean alligators, because that is what they always seem to warn you about around these parts, but we did not personally see any. But do we ever really see them when they are around? Unless they decide to come out of the water. However, we did see a lot of ducks swimming in the lake, as well as a beautiful white one just sitting on the side in the grass. This is a great place to run, walk, speed walk, scoot (my Little One took her scooter) and I saw some people fishing too. It's a great pit stop if you happen to be in the area. You can fill up on gas at the Shell Station and stretch those legs before you go on the next leg of your trip. Get outside, People!
