Cheryl's work is truly priceless, I wish every woman could have this opportunity. I was nervous, as I'm sure most are. I'm a 45 year old women that wasn't in the shape I wanted to be but I really wanted to do this for my husband's 50th. Little did I know this would be for me too, as much, if not more. Nikoma, the fabulous hair and makeup person was so personable and really helped me feel welcomed and special. I can't rate Belle Boudoir high enough. If you're on the fence, do it! Cheryl and Nikoma are an amazing team. They make you feel relaxed from the start and add their wonderful personal touches throughout the process to the very end when you receive your final products. It may sound silly if you've never done a session here, but I can honestly say this experience was life changing for me. Recently spent an afternoon in studio for a photo shoot - I've never done anything like this before and I was definitely glad to have my first experience here, true professionals. The studio is nice, clean, and lots of big windows for natural light. You can bring your own stuff like I did or choose from a seemingly endless variety of lingerie, shoes and accessories she has there. My biggest worry was posing since I have zero background in modeling and I was directed every step of the way, be warned though it is somewhat physical and you will probably have a sore back the next day! For the most part my photos turned out beautiful, I'm not sure if I'm sold on the back ground to one of the sets we did (the deconstructed brick wall) but overall I'm very happy and wish I could go back and do more! read more

Belle Boudoir Photography located in Ballard is a must go experience for any lady who desires for some tasteful masterclass sensual photography. Or playful photography. Really, you should try it. The whole process was great. I signed up during a January Open House, which I would recommend if Cheryl has another. There was food, drinks, makeup sessions, and many pictures to look over. Plus, I was able to tour the studio freely with no pressure. It was a great experience. Fast forward four months and a couple weeks before my session Cheryl called me to go over any questions and let me know what to expect. The day of the session I met with Nikoma who did my hair and makeup. I know next to nothing about makeup or really hair but all Nikoma needed was to ask a few questions and provide examples and the next thing I knew I had fantastic makeup and wonderful hair. Nikoma was excellent and even when my eye wouldn't stop watering making the false lashes hard to adhere I found myself amazed how patient she was and resilient as she managed to get them to stick! Afterwards I spent the next couple hours with Cheryl. Cheryl looked over the photos that I showed her as my favorites, suggested order of outfits, and started setting up. Cheryl mentions on her website that you do not have to worry about knowing how to pose because she will give instruction. She's not kidding. I've done photo shoots before in other capacities and Cheryl's instructions are the clearest and most directive I have ever experienced. I never was left questioning what she meant, she guided me through the entire process. And it was fun! We laughed, we chatted - it was a very relaxed environment. I couldn't believe how quickly the time went. The studio was beautiful and clean. The backgrounds were easily set up and she knows exactly what to do. My small amount of nervousness vanished quickly after posing the first few shots. It was a ton of fun. A little over an hour later I saw a preview of the photos and I was stunned. See, years ago I had done a pinup photo shoot and I easily selected 8 pictures that I liked because the rest I didn't really care for. I was presented with a 105 photos and had difficulties reducing them to 80. Actually, I didn't reduce them to 80. I ended up getting to 88 and paying for the extra pictures because I couldn't not get them. They were amazing. They were professional, tasteful, with great lighting and positioning and it was just WOW! I don't think of myself as a gorgeous woman, but I left that studio feeling like I was on Cloud 9. The photos were gorgeous. I am super excited to see the final product in a few weeks. Cheryl made the whole experience amazing. This review is so overdue as it's been a year since my session - but it definitely means something that I STILL want to write a review. I've actually done another boudoir shoot with another photographer which helps give me even more perspective on how Cheryl is simply one of the best. I shot with Cheryl to give my husband a surprise birthday present and boy was he surprised! First, sitting in Nikoma's makeup chair is wonderful to get you ready. She's fun and helped me calm down so that I could truly enjoy myself. She made me look like a bombshell. I actually booked a long shoot so I got two looks from Nikoma and I loved how she could transition me into two very different looks both for makeup and hair (my first time with hair extensions!). Also, being Asian, I was thrilled that she could put makeup on that looked good! Cheryl is a soft-spoken magician. Somehow she makes anyone look like a model, helping you work angles so no matter how you feel about your body you'll look at your pictures and see the beauty that is sometimes too difficult to see with our own eyes. I love how she could get so many different feels through her diverse sets and lighting setups. Through it all she's such a calm presence. She gives great directions and despite how surprisingly awkward and uncomfortable the poses can be - when you see what they look like in the end, it's so worth it. While I loved the photos from my second shoot, there's something extra magical about the ones I have from Cheryl that make her photos my top choice. What began as a birthday present for my husband ended up being such a confidence booster for me! I love looking at my pictures even to this day - they are so tasteful that I even keep them on my phone so I can view my favorites every now and then. I'm thankful that this experience was memorialized in such a beautiful way so that my husband and I will always be able to enjoy not just photographs but art. The experience actually begins before you ever set foot in her studio. I found her Pinterest pages, her guide, and her shopping recommendations to be spot on. I had so much fun getting a trousseau of fun, flirty, and sexy things. While I really enjoyed curating my own looks, I love that she's also got her own wardrobe of outfits - something I did not have at my other shoot. I got a package that included a book and a canvas. Seriously gorgeous photography by Cheryl Jones. I wanted to get maternity photos done and since it's winter in Seattle, I didn't want to get pics done outdoors what with the weather being unpredictable and generally grey. I did some research and found that most studios have rather boring backgrounds for maternity photos. In addition, many of the photos were kind of cheesy. I'm so glad I came across Belle Boudoir. I wasn't looking for boudoir maternity photos, but I thought Cheryl's portfolio was simply stunning. If I could get just one good shot, I'd be happy. Booking a session was easy as you can do it online and see her availability. Once booked, you will receive a super extensive guide on what to expect, suggestions on what to wear, pricing guide, etc. It is the most comprehensive and helpful brochure from a photographer that I have ever seen. What I loved about the experience is that I didn't have to worry about hair and makeup. That is part of the fees. Makeup and hair are done by a professional artist and it shows. My hair and makeup were done by Nikoma and looked fabulous. Just take a look at the 'before and after' section of Belle Boudoir's website. The transformations are astounding. The other great thing is that I did not have to think about how to pose. If you're a pro at posing then that's great, but if you have no idea (like me), Cheryl will direct your every move for every single shot, down to the bend of your arm to the tilt of your chin. She knows what is a flattering angle. I'm so grateful to Cheryl for making me look beautiful in the photos, which will be a special momento of my pregnancy. I am so glad I finally decided to do this! I have been thinking about this for over 5 years, but never really had a reason to do this in the past. With my upcoming wedding, I knew that this would be the perfect gift for my future husband. So, after doing quite a bit of research, I came across Belle Boudoir Photography. After booking my appointment, I read through all of the information provided by Cheryl and through out the website to help myself feel as prepared as possible. On the day of the appointment, I felt super nervous as soon as I started driving into Seattle. However, once I met Nikoma, their amazing hair and makeup artist, all of my butterflies disappeared. Nikoma captured the look I wanted (but I had no idea how to describe). My makeup was flawless and my hair looked incredible. After she was done, I couldn't believe how good I looked. This gave me a huge boost of confidence! Soon after, Cheryl met me up in the dressing room and helped me organize my outfits and add a few things from her collection. During the whole process, she gave me very clear instructions on how to pose. She was very patient with me while I tried to follow each direction step by step :) Once we were done with the photo shoot, she showed me where to meet her in about an hour to review the photos. Since I didn't know the area at all, she gave me a handy little map that pointed out various restaurants (I went with a cupcake). I was very excited about this opportunity - not only was I going to be able to pamper myself and do something I never imagined I would do, but I was also going to end up with an amazing gift for my husband. I signed up for the "marathon" session; pricing has since changed, but at the time, I paid $350 which included full hair and make-up (however, false eyelashes were an additional $25 for some reason) and then 1.5 hour session with five outfit changes. There was much confusion from the start - after I paid my desposit online, I had multiple emails from Cheryl (the photographer and owner of the business) as well as her assistant, regarding my appointment. Sometimes they would ask when I wanted to come, even though a date had already been established. Then I would get an email asking if I was still interested, even though, a deposit had been paid, and I had a standing appointment. Clearly, the business could use a little scheduling help. When I went in for my session, it was great. I loved my hair, I loved my make-up and I had a lot of fun during the session. Even though I was practically naked, I felt totally comfortable and at ease. When I got my proofs to choose from, I loved them as well. The photos all turned out great - I never thought I could look that great and my husband was so excited and happy with them. But that's where I stopped liking the experience. When I ordered my product (a book with 8 images for $200+) there was squabbling over price with Cheryl. I was to get a 10% credit for doing the marathon session, which wasn't applied correctly, until we had a string of 6 emails where I literally spelled out the math, and then, the discount was finally applied correctly. I was also told that if I authorized use of my photos on her blog and website, I would get a disc of screen resolution (so, not to print, but just to look at) for free. Evidently, once you stop paying money, Cheryl stops making you a priroity. SHE SHOULD NOT OFFER THIS "GIFT" IF SHE CAN NOT FULFILL ON IT. I have now sent Cheryl four emails asking where my disk is. She ignored two of them and then responded to the one where I told her I was going to be writing my experience on Yelp. She responded that she was working on it, but she had paid orders to fulfill. That was 2 weeks ago. Haven't heard a word, and haven't seen the disk. Which puts us at almost 2 months since she said I would have it "next week". I don't imagine I will ever see it. The bottom line: Cheryl needs a QUALITY assistant. She should just focus on photography, which she does well, and not on running a business, which she does not do well. Until she can run her business properly, I can't recommend using her. Despite her great photography, she falls apart on the critical aspect - customer satisfaction. read more

If you have the means, stop THINKING about getting boudoir photos through Belle Boudoir and DO IT. Cheryl is super professional and literally tells you which muscle to flex/move/adjust at what time until you look just right for the shot. It may be odd, but I was most worried about my face. Like those photos taken of you where you thought you were getting your model face on, and later realized you look like you're trying too hard.... I was under the impression this requires serious training to master those tricky muscles! Not with Cheryl. The photos look awesome without the cheesiness/overdramatic factor. After researching most of what Seattle has to offer in the Boudoir photography realm Cheryl was a clear winner: lots of photographic styles to choose from (you can choose 6 outfits/photo styles total) with a very timeless, classic look. A few tips: - Cheryl has a TON of fun outfits to choose from (more than what is shown in her pdf preparation guide I believe...) but I definitely recommend finding a few beautiful pieces you love and splurge a bit on. My suggestion for FANCY and GORGEOUS lingerie is Agent Provocateur. Suggestion for sexy and still awesome lingerie yet more affordable is NastyGal, Victoria Secret and ASOS. - Prep your back for some serious arching. I'm a fit person, really I am.... but I Felt It for a few days after. Some stretching/massage after should do the trick. - come with a few Pinterest boards of looks you're interested in: Cheryl will do her best to make it happen. I brought in an amazing boudoir photo and we replicated it almost exactly and it is AMAZE-balls. - you might have an idea of what you want to spend, but be open to the possibility that you will love and need to have almost each and every photo taken of you in your life, forever. I had Cheryl do my maternity photos in September. I know what you're probably thinking...Boudoir maternity photos are usually tacky as hell... *In my opinion*, when it comes to boudoir style maternity photos, there is a fine line between looking like a hoochie-mama and beached whale. But hear me out because the experience was so much fun, and I absolutely love my photos (and I don't look like a hoochie-mama OR a beached whale!)! Cheryl did an AMAZING job! My photos are artistic and tasteful, and I couldn't be more happy with how they turned out! The session itself was reasonably priced; approximately $300 for hair, makeup and about 2 hours of photography. I arrived at 10:00 in the morning for makeup and hair, which took about an hour. We went through my outfit choices, and then jumped right into the photo session. At the end of the session, Cheryl sent me out to go get lunch/hang out for an hour while she touched up my best photos. After the hour break, I came back and we went through all of the photos together and discussed album pricing. I ended up ordering the leather bound album for my husband, and we couldn't be more pleased with it! I'm not going to lie, it was not cheap; but I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". In my opinion, the photography session and final product was definitely worth every penny. I had a lot of fun doing this after finally taking the plunge. Cheryl gives excellent direction and the pics turned out great. I haven't received the final product yet, but unless they're vastly different from what I'm expecting I stand by this review. My suggestions for making it easier on yourself. 1) Try to pare down your outfit choices before you go. I went with way too many and then felt bad that some got left out despite having 6 "outfits". 2) It helps to bring examples of pics that you like to help establish the sort of mood and what you're comfortable with. 3) make sure you eat something filling before you go, you don't want to eat and mess up your make up or starve yourself. I only had one (and a half) problems after I was done. There was too much hairspray in my hair (it was not so soft and shiny and I couldn't run my fingers through it) and my make up was less natural than I was expecting when I saw the photos. My eyes looked amazing, but I'd hardly term the look "natural". Definitely recommend it as something that every woman should try at least once. You'll walk out feeling super-sexy. read more

I was feeling a bit down about myself lately and it felt like facebook sensed it because an advertisement for a boudoir photographer randomly popped up. I decided that I wanted to do one so I could regain my confidence and have a fun little surprise for my husband. I did some research because I knew that the photographs would be pricey, but if I was going to spend the money then I wanted it to be flawless, perfect and the best experience ever. In February I clicked on the website for Belle Boudoir and scrolled through the photos, the dramatic, the luminous, the before and after and I was hooked. I could tell that the makeup/hair artist and the photographer really knew what they were doing and had mastered the art of boudoir. I contact Cheryl about the reason I was doing the photographs and she was so kind and sweet. After doing some more research and talking it over with Cheryl, I made the deposit. Shortly after she called me for a phone consultation to tell me how the experience would be, what to expect and to answer any questions or worries that I had (which I did have a couple worries; my jaw is crooked, I have a flat face, my body isn't in the best shape ever). Cheryl was very nice and reassured me that no one walked away from this shoot feeling anything less than beautiful and empowered. I scheduled my session for the beginning of April and I was definitely nervous. I bought 3 different lingerie outfits, but was constantly questioning them on the ride up. The studio was easy to find. Nicoma (Nacoma, I can't remember how to spell the name, but I love it) greeted me when I walked in and was easy to talk to. She asked me what kind of makeup look I was wanting and I showed her some pictures. I was able to relax and just chat with her, listening to some jazz music as she got me ready. I loved the way she did my makeup. It went with every outfit I had. After that, I met Cheryl upstairs. She is as sweet through an e-mail and on the phone as she is in person. We went through the outfits I had, picked some of the things she had and talked about what the day was going to look like. If you have hesitations about boudoir, relax because the process is so easy. I had 6 outfit changes and Cheryl guided me through each pose. It's super uncomfortable and at times I didn't know what the pictures were going to look like with the way I was posed, but they came out amazing. Cheryl tells you exactly what to do, when to close your eyes, open them, smile, laugh, position your elbow this way, move your leg that way, flatten your stomach, arch your back, EVERYTHING. All I had to do was hold the pose long enough for her to snap the photo. After we did the shoot (it took about 2 hours), I went to a coffee shop down the street while she touched up a couple of the photos. Then an hour later I came back and we sat on a couch and narrowed the photos down to the ones I wanted to go in the book I was purchasing. I literally could not believe how amazing I looked. That was 2 weeks ago and today I just got the final product in the mail (Cheryl told me it was done yesterday and it's here already!). I was smiling the whole time I was looking through the book and I could not believe it was me. The book was done beautifully, the way the photos are done. The sequences are probably my favorite part. Seriously, you can not go wrong with Cheryl. She made me feel so comfortable. At first I was shy and was walking around with my kimono on between takes, but then I got comfortable and was just walking around in my bra and thong. And when Cheryl had to adjust a strap or my hair, it wasn't weird at all. The price of the whole thing may scare some people away, but you're really paying for quality. Getting down to your skivvies or less is uncomfortable for most but she knows what to do and how to make you relax. I had a "Boudie" shoot with Cheryl as a Father's Day gift to my husband this year. I was super nervous before I got there ( I don't even know why- could have been the traffic. Ha!) but as soon as I met Cheryl at the door her attitude and awesomeness calmed me down instantly. She was very sweet and welcoming. I was a little early so she went ahead and showed me the dressing room and large assortment of lingerie she had (MIND.BLOWN). We chose some outfits between the stuff I brought and the awesomeness she had, which was super easy as she seemed to get what I was going for and helped me make sure with the outfits that I chose that I would achieve that look. She then showed me to the Make-Up area where I met the beautiful, Lisa. Lisa was super nice, really funny, and very good at her job. I've got some super watery eyes and she made it work, lashes and all! My hair was effortless looking and very pretty. When it came time to actually get down to business Cheryl's humor and wit were both funny and calming and her guidance during posing was concise and to the point. She's very respectful of your concerns about how your body may look and does her best to explain the camera angle. We had a really great time together. She made me feel completely comfortable, beautiful, and mostly, sexy. When I returned from the hour break she gave me I was not expecting to like many pictures just because I don't usually like many pictures of myself. ....then she started the slide show. AND.I.DIED. I started screaming, literally, sitting on her little white couch. The pictures were ALL so gorgeous. I wanted to frame every.single.one. of them. The angles, the outfits, THE POSING, the lighting, everything was perfect. It was super hard to narrow it down but her method to help you do that is awesome and super helpful. The prices for the products are a bit steep but I truly believe that you get what you pay for in this industry. We ended up getting the "most popular" package containing a Leather Bound book with 50 images and all the images on a USB. We haven't received our finished products yet (Yes, I realize this is the latest Father's Day gift ever...ha!) but the sample book felt like it was super quality. Amazing. She lives up to everything and more. She's not lying or exaggerating when she tells you it's hard for you to pick the photos- I am so self conscious about my body and photos and despite the seemingly acrobatic poses Cheryl asks you to do, they ALL PAY OFF. My fiancée purchase a session at Belle Boudoir for my birthday. The session included a pre-session consultation, make-up, and the photo shoot. This was around $350. Unfortunately,, he did not check the actual photo pricing. I chose to have my pre-session consultation over the phone since I had a difficult time finding time to go to Seattle for it. After that, I found the link for the actual image pricing, Wow. They are expensive. After consulting with my fiancée we decided that the additional 1,000.00 or so for photo was not in my budget and we would cancel the shoot (realizing we would lose our deposit). I emailed Cheryl to let her know. She was quick to reply, giving me an alternate. She would be having what was a condensed version of her package. I would have to do my own hair but would still have my make up done and the photo shoot would be only around an hour, but it included 10 digital images. This ran us around $575. I decided this sounded like a good idea. I was a bit surprised when I entered the studio. I was expecting a professional looking place; however it was kind of on the cheap looking side. For example the make-up station isn't really a station, it's a folding table and a spinning bar stool in front of a wall of mirrors in the waiting room. No privacy at all while you are getting your make up put on as I found out when the woman from the shoot before me came out in the middle of my make-up application. I was greeted by the make-up artist. She was very warm and friendly. We talked a bit about the look I was going for and then she started working. This was a challenge because the bar stool I was sitting on keep spinning. She and I had a nice talk. I had never worn fake lashes before but she put them on very easily and didn't freak me out. Make up took less than an hour so she was able to touch up my hair. Do not be surprised if you think your make up looks over done. I did too. She escorted me to the dressing room upstairs and Cheryl met me there to go over my outfits. We talked for a minute about how to shoot my outfits and then I changed. Okay here is a reality check. If you think that a boudoir photo shoot is sexy and/or sensual, it's not. It's a lot of work. It is physically awkward. It is not you strutting your stuff in front of a camera. Every pose was conducted by Cheryl. I mean, "turn your head to the left and your torso to the right, move your hand up a bit..." It is like a demented game of twister. I had really very little idea how the pose was supposed to look so it was a bit frustrating. I really didn't feel my personality was being represented in the photos. Secondly, and this might be because she was doing a marathon day (several shoots one after another), Cheryl didn't really talk much to me during the shoot. After about 10 minutes, I changed and we went to work on outfit two's poses. It was about in the middle of this set, I got tired. I was in boots with heels and the positions I was put in were hard to hold. Ten to fifteen minutes later and we were shooting outfit three. I started this one posed in front of a window covered in sheer curtains that was visible to the street outside. The whole time I was in the window, I was wondering if the guys I could hear outside the building were getting to see my naughty bits. It is ironic because later my fiancée arriving early to pick me up said he saw me in the window. Then we were done. I got dressed in my street clothes. Cheryl had already disappeared so I didn't get any instructions as to what to do, so I left the studio area. When I re-entered the waiting/make up area, the next woman was getting her make up done. The make-up artist asked if the shoot had been fun. I lied and said "uh, yeah" so as to not discourage the other client because it wasn't really fun. Two weeks later, I got the proofs. My fiancée and I went through the 20 shots to pick the 10 we wanted. Some were great. Some were not so great. The first set was very good. I was really surprised at how she had airbrushed about 10 years off my face. The second outfit's shots not good at all. You could see in my face how uncomfortable I was. The last set was a mixture of good and not-so-good. We picked our ten and in a few days a link to download the digital images arrived. How do I feel now that it's done? Even though Cheryl was accommodating, if I were to do this again, I would pick another studio. I wish that the photos had more of my personality represented. Even my fiancée said that there are only a few photos where he sees "me" in the photos. I also expected more pampering and bit more of an "experience". read more

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my album!!!!! I'm not big on posting photos on social media but I feel like posting every single photo on my Instagram saying "hello world!! I wanted to give my fiancé pictures of me that could be presented to him the morning of our wedding. I looked around and decided to go with Cheryl at Belle Boudoir and am so glad I did. The whole experience was amazing! First I started off with Nikoma doing my hair and make-up, she added clip-ons to my hair & I asked for sexy make-up, after she was done with everything I felt like a diva. Then Cheryl came to the studio and we looked over my outfits and she placed them in the order she felt would be best to shoot. I had some of my own (thanks to generous ladies at my bachelorette party) but also wore two of Cheryl's and all the shoes from her closet for my different looks. I also used some of her jewelry, that's what I loved is that you don't have to buy a bunch of outfits because she has a great closet full of corsets, nighties, heels and jewelry you can wear. Cheryl makes you feel right at home and not uncomfortable when she's shooting. She knows how to position you so your body "situations" look great. After the shoot you leave for an hour while she goes through the pictures and does some initial editing. Then you come back and narrow down the pictures based on the few hundred she takes. It's a daunting task because they all look great. I had my sister come to the studio to help me go through the photos, it helped to have a second opinion and I would suggest it. I purchased the book, USB and canvas package. My fiancé couldn't believe the book, he LOVED it! I also showed my girlfriends and they said it looked amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to surprise their partner! I only wished I could've gone out after the shoot looking so glam but it was a Monday and I had to pick him up from the airport so had to wash my make-up off. I treated my best friend to a session with Cheryl for her Bachelorette party. It was awesome. The experience started with really sexy hair and makeup. My friend has short hair, but the hairdresser put in long, long extensions to give her that Victoria Secret model fell. She looked amazing. She then got to go upstairs and pick out sexy clothes from Cheryl's abundant closet. There was an unbelievable amount of stuff in there. Really. Tons of outfits, shoes, jewelry. I was really impressed. Finally, it came time for the photos. Cheryl is AMAZING. Seriously. AMAZING. I watched my best friend of almost 20 years turn into this slender, glamorous, beautiful, sexy vixen. I honestly am so jealous she got to do this, because when she's old and wrinkly and her belly's starting to go, she's going to have these magnificent photos to look back on and remember how she was once and unbelievably hot piece of ass. She hasn't gotten to see the final results yet because she's on her honeymoon, but I have no doubt they're going to be amazing. Cheryl is spectacular. I highly recommend this for a bride-to-be. First and foremost, the product that Cheryl creates is amazing and beautiful beyond words. She truly has an artistic eye & is talented photographer. My fiance was beyond blown away by the end result. The stars are an average of the end product (5) & the experience itself (1). I arrived and worked with the hair/makeup artist, who was personable, welcoming & enthusiastic. I brought snacks, but forgot water. Unfortunately, there were no drinks of any kind offered. I didn't expect a buffet or anything, but at least a glass of water would have been nice. There's a lot on the packing list , so it would be easy to forget something like water. After hair/makeup was done, she called Cheryl to let her know that I was ready. I began arranging the clothes I'd brought in the changing room, and Cheryl arrived out of nowhere at the door to the changing and just began talking to me. She didn't greet me (as I would have expected) or my friend. I had met her once in October at her open house, but doubted she'd remember me. We spoke once in January about what I was hoping for from my shoot, but there no follow up closer to the day (late March). She just started asking about outfits, & I'd told her the different styles I'd chosen (6 per prep guide description). She informed me that since I was getting a smaller book, she would recommend (read between the lines: you only get) two outfit changes. WOW! That's a big difference! I'd already indicated via email what finished product that I was going to buy. She finally said that if I was "open" to buying more pix, then we could do more outfit changes. She said usually when women see their pix, they want to buy all of them. I was open to buying more, but planned to start with a more modest package. All in all, this is a HUGE expense, as is the purchasing of bras & panties for the shoot. It was a bit of bummer to be told I could choose 6 outfits all along, but when it came time to shoot, be told that I could only use them if I informally agreed to buy more pix. The lingerie closet is HUGE and she has all sizes, BUT she will dissuade you from using her lingerie. Her opinion is that it takes away from the woman's natural body & that's really what her guy wants to see. I had picked out a couple of her things to use, but decided to go w/ wearing my own after her strong suggestions. The shoot itself went smoothly. There was only one moment that I found odd. I have a tattoo under my left arm, which is not a favorite, and I'd asked if it could be photoshopped out if it peeked out in any pix. She said that it could be, but it would be an additional charge because it was large. I was surprised by that since a small retouch didn't seem like a big deal. Seemed like nickel & diming, but I let it go. I think there was music playing in the background, but she never asked if I'd brought my own music or what Pandora station I'd like to listen to, which seemed odd because on her appt intake form, she made a point of asking what you'd like to listen to. The shoot was smooth. Cheryl was direct & helpful, but not what I would describe as overly friendly. She had a cool demeanor. After, we ate dinner while Cheryl prepped pics. When we returned to her workspace studio (different than the shooting studio), she invited us in, & we waited in the dark downstairs while she finished up in the loft. A little awkward, but the wait wasn't too long. She had gone through the pix & created a slideshow to review them all. She takes 3 different facial expressions of pretty much every pose, so she has a method to go through each pose to choose your favorites. There were about 120 pix. This got to be awkward because she has a certain method of reviewing all the photos to get down to the 60 in her largest book. I told her that I wanted to start with finding the 25 I ABSOLUTELY wanted to have (Min. 25 pix for mid-priced pkg)& then add in the extras that I also loved. She said she doesn't do it that way & reiterated that usually women want to buy ALL the pix because they're that good & if I don't buy them, then they will be GONE FOREVER. The pix that she took are incredibly beautiful, but since I am the customer, it seemed like she should be trying to work WITH me & what would work for my budget, lifestyle, needs. She was on a mission to get me to buy everything (her full package is $2000 plus tax to buy a 60 pg. book & all pix) +$400 photo shoot). She even said to my friend while I was in the bathroom, "I can't believe she only got 28 pix. She's the first one ever to NOT buy them all!" After carefully considering where to spend my hard earned money, I chose Cheryl for the positive reviews about her personality & art. My pix ARE incredible & will be treasured, but unfortunately, the whole experience was tainted by the pressure to buy all day. I didn't feel any personal connection with her throughout, so really I paid A LOT of money for the finished product, not the experience. I doubt I'd return. read more

Not a fan. Cheryl photographed a wedding I was in last summer and the entire wedding party was very disappointed in her. She moved as slow as a turtle, stopped many times to switch lenses and had an awful assistant. Also, Cheryl's general attitude was lazy. The photos turned out ok, but not nearly as good as she advertises on her website. read more

I was incredibly nervous going into my photo shoot. Cheryl and I exchanged emails beforehand though so I had a good idea what to expect. I was put at ease from the moment I walked into the studio. The hair and makeup were great and Cheryl helped me pick out the outfits that would best fit my wants and personality. Cheryl was excellent and directed me with all the poses. I felt so comfortable the entire time. I was stunned when we went through the photos. I didn't realize I could look that good. Belle Boudoir is amazing. Of all the places I looked into, Belle Boudoir had the most to offer with hair, makeup, studio, and outfits all included. Nikoma did my hair and makeup, she was great. Cheryl gave me lots of direction during the session and made me feel very comfortable. It was nice to be able to see my pictures the same day. I am so pleased with the final product. Makeup and hair were great, except my curls started to go away part-way through shoot. Cheryl takes good photos, is professional, and makes one feel comfortable. There were several things wrong, though. I felt hurried, as there was a client after me. (Maybe don't book during 'busy' season?) All her poses she has one do are all the same. Some of the photos, my hair was sticking out oddly (looked like needed to be smoothed, as it was in photos after I had been lying down), there were photos where my panties and or bra were twisted or not lying flat...details a professional photographer's eye should catch. I plan to have pics done again, but by a different photographer. Some poses don't work for everyone's bodies. I also had photos (in the book) where my nipples were showing and it was either unflattering pose and/or didn't want them to be seen. read more
