Enrolled my daughter for a junior tournament here. Staff was super rude to the players and their parents both days I was here. I heard about how their junior players were quite unprofessional from many of the local coaches but didn't realize the staff was also unprofessional. Our 11 year old grandson attended the week long, all day tennis camp and he was very disappointed (as were we). The first day was very confusing as to where he was to go as the person giving directions was very hard to understand. He said the majority of the camp was spent on learning to serve. He said the instructors would laugh at him if he missed a shot. They were never given the rules of the game. Also, there was far too much down time. One hour for lunch with a one hour break so 2 STRAIGHT HOURS with nothing to do except sit in the lobby. For the high cost of this camp, I expected much more. If I could give this place zero stars I would! I read all the bad reviews about this place but still decided to give it a chance. I don't really write bad reviews but this experience was just unacceptable. I booked a private lesson on their website. It says that I will be with a coach at 11 am on Thursday, October 10th. I show up way before 11 and the girl at the front desk was clueless. She had to call someone and made me talk to this woman Paige. She then told me that I had to call the coach first to schedule a private lesson and that I only paid for the court rental. Well first of all, as a first time customer, there was NOTHING on their website that says that I would have to call the coach first. That should've already been scheduled through them. How would I even have the coaches number if I'm a new customer? No one called me or even sent me an email. All I got was a confirmation text that everything was scheduled. All she said was sorry and she said she will issue me a refund. I wasted my time coming here on my day off. I was even excited for this tennis lesson. I will take my business somewhere with better communication and clearer booking. read more

Member services here are beyond terrible. Since the new owners have taken over this past year, the customer service and member experience has gone downhill quickly. There aren't many options for indoor tennis in Bellevue for a reasonable price, but it's really not worth it to be a member here. They focus all their energies on their junior programs (which is great for the juniors and families), but if you try to reserve a court after work, you will only be able to get 9, 10 or 11PM courts. The general manager is very rude and conceited. They just want to make money here. For junior and kids programs, it may be a good, for everyone else, PASS. read more

I hit at the clinics at AV Tennis to two to three times a week. Compared to other tennis centers I've played at in the Seattle & Bellevue area, the coaching staff at AV is the best overall. Clinics are fast paced, people are kept moving, and there's an emphasis on a lot of live points being played. Some tennis centers run clinics where you get the feeling that the drills being done won't help in a match. The drills at AV Tennis always seem relevant to match play, so you rarely feel as your time there is being wasted. A drawback would be that the clinics are often times overloaded, so it isn't rare to see 8 or more people on 1 court with 1 coach. The facility itself is passable. If it wasn't for the younger, more active players that hit here and the coaching staff, I would give the actual facility 2 stars. The court surfaces are well kept, but the roof is too low for most defensive lobs. The lighting is okay, it's directly overhead so it's distracting on high volleys and overheads. There's also Crossfit here, so the music can get loud. If you're distracted by the sounds of loud workout music and weights being dropped, then you won't like playing here. AV Tennis is definitely worth a try for the superb coaching, the amount of clinics, and the athletic players that hit here. But if you're looking to book nice courts with great lighting, and lots of doubles flights throughout the day I'd look elsewhere. It's not for everyone, you'll either love it or hate it. read more

Wish I could give zero star. The management is horrible. I've been taking private lessons here for 3 months, and got stood up 3 times already. The program manager, Rudolf Kischel, is particularly irresponsible. Always showed up with fake smile and fake reason explaining why my coach did not show up. The courts here are not good either. They are mostly narrow, that I feel I will run into wall moving at baseline. Just stay away from this shit hole. read more

Tennis can be pricey here - but it's nice that they don't require a membership and you can drop in for a class or series without ponying up a couple thousand bucks (cough cough, Central Park). The only downside - is there are only two courts here. So while they support several USTA leagues - playing a match here is an all day adventure since you can only play two matches at a time. I'm still surprised the USTA allows that. The facilities are nice and the coaching staff is top rate. A good range of cardio tennis classes and pick up classes that provide the most intense tennis workout I've found in the area compared to Robinswood, Amy Yee, and Mill Creek. We have been members since August 2011, we have two kids 11 and 7, both developing to be great players. One is already ranked well, and we absolutely love the coaches and th staff. If you are looking to waste money with tier 3 level coaches go to the Pro Club. Every Tennis Parent with a serious level junior program knows the kids coming out of AV, and the High Performance program are some of th best in the north west. The club is edgy with a fitness and startup training center feel. Loud music and athetic development are it's charm. If your are a stodgy weekend player with narcissistic attitude this may not be your cup of tea. But in that case, you are probably not cultured enough to appreciate fine tea or wine:-). AV is a fun place to develop your tennis game, very affordable for fitness and tennis, and the best for developing juniors with coaches really care about your kids. They are tough and will improve your performance. Our daughter is an example of that, best of all there is a sense of community and excitement about the next generation of tennis, not your grandmas country club attitude! read more

This is the cool place to play tennis. At times you'll hear music blazing from a boombox and people enjoying themselves. AV has four courts, sports a shop, and combines the area with crossfit. A ping pong table, lcd tvs, and xbox make you never want to leave. Last I heard, membership was full...so you'll just have to keep to checking to get into this sweet club. If you can score a membership, the best thing you get, besides all those list above, are free courts! Also the online booking system makes it so much easier too. So why 4 stars instead of 5? The lighting...its pretty hard to serve a ball when you have a spot light in your eyes. Other than that, this place rocks! read more

Courts and facilities are good. But their online court reservation for members is a nightmare. They say members can only reserve a court within a week. However, I found lots of time slots are reserved even one month ahead. The question is who reserves them? I know they have classes in the evening, which end at 9:30. But most courts are reserved to 11:30. I asked for an explanation, but no responses. I guess the owner create a back door in the system for some 'VIPs', which is very unfair. read more

I signed up my 5 year daughter for Tiny Tigers lessons. What I love about the structure is that for the 10 pack of lessons I can come any time the flexibility is great. The staff gas been wonderful. The front desk woman is so nice. My daughter's coach Ben is so great with her. He is encouraging, skillful while still making everything fun. I just met the owner Rudolf and he is very nice as well. This academy just mints money at your expense. I called and booked a singles court for 44$ (i initially thought omg 44$ for 1hr). Due to the rainy weather, we planned to take the court. When we arrived at BTA, we came to know that there are 3 types of courts - full tennis court, half tennis court and some 3/4th court. Basically according to the learned staff, singles court = small court. They never told me about this over the phone when i booked it as well.Bad thing I couldn't give 0 rating. read more

I purchased a 1hr private lesson followed by 1hr court time as a last-minute birthday present for my brother, who used to play regularly, but who hadn't played in 13yrs. I emailed initially, and Ivica was very prompt with an email response, even as it came close to the holidays. We had a crazy schedule, and they were able to accommodate booking the private lesson and 1hr of court time the very same day I needed it! As an out-of-towner, they also let us book the lesson and court without having to sign up for any kind of membership. Our assigned tennis instructor, Bob, couldn't make it, so they sent Pulat instead. What a treat!! Pulat is an AMAZING instructor. My brother, who had a nagging problem with his forehand that nobody could figure out for 15 years, was shocked as Pulat closely watched his technique and recommended a minor grip correction that made all the difference. The great thing about Pulat's instruction is that he recommends corrections that are easy to implement before getting into the more difficult, big, sweeping changes. He is also extremely observant of the details of all aspects of your play, and offers keen advice in many areas. Can't say enough about this guy- Pulat is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! As for the rest of the place, the tennis shop is nice and we tried several rackets. The cafe is very nice, with the registration desk, some lounge chairs in front of a TV playing some great matches (Agassi/Sampras was playing when we walked in) and a well-stocked food/drink counter. If you are into tennis, then this is the place to be. If you want a place to meet up with your friends or have a dinner or a drink, then the other place down the way would be better for you. My family practically lives here. Between the adult clinics and team practices to the children's programs, the instructors can't be beat. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that I wished there were more courts. I don't mind that this place isn't fancy or have the latest gadgets. It is a place where if you really are passionate about playing the game and learning more to improve yourself, then AV is the place that you need be at. read more

I joined in the summer, so it really isn't the best time to judge the place. Courts were easy to get. But now that the fall has rolled around, if you work normal hours, 8-5, it's impossible to play unless you want to book a court at 6 a.m. or 10 p.m. OR pay an additional $25 on top of $60 monthly fees to play during their clinics. Really, it's much too expensive, especially because you can't get a court. I'll be canceling my membership, and biting the bullet on the $150 fee to get out of my contract. But, the way I see it, I'd be wasting a lot more money waiting for June until I can get a court. Four courts does not a good tennis club make! Oh, and the front desk staff is anything but friendly. They're annoyed if you ask a question. read more

Excellent place for taking your kids to learn tennis. I took my then 9 year old to AV early last year, after having him play at Pro Club for 3 years. I found that Av was in an altogether different league with regards to coaching. Rudolph is one of the best coaches I have seen for teaching the young players the basics of tennis like the correct stroke, footwork etc. They then have coaches like Irina and Brian to take it to the next level. I only wish I had gone to AV a lot earlier than I did. read more

We did summer camp there. They were pretty rough on little kids. Looks like it was allowed that older kids being rough on younger kids. I definitely saw lack of good management. They probably need some training. The front desk was pretty rude as well. Not a very good experience. read more

Came by for the first time a couple weeks ago after one of my friends referred me. I have a 5 year old and its very hard to find flexible times for his tennis lessons! I have to say i fell in love with the place! On top of their beautiful remodeling and new entrance, they opened up a Cafe & Wine Bar! This is an okay place to play as an adult. The juniors coaching has been a disappointment. One coach just feeds balls, with very little feedback or instruction. Not like other places where the coaches are constantly talking to the kids, stopping play to provide feedback or teach a new skill, etc. Very little communication with parents about everything from schedule changes to student progress. read more

This is the worst place to play a USTA tennis match. AV shares warehouse space with CrossFit training. There is a chain link fence with a curtain, separating the CrossFit side of the building from the tennis courts. So the workout area is essentially in the same room as the tennis courts. During my match it was so noisy it was difficult to concentrate on tennis. The people working out on the CrossFit side were playing very loud rap music. They were also working out with heavy free weights which they continually dropped on the ground. I'm not talking about the gentle click click of someone working out, but the crash of hundred pound weights that serious lifters use. I will not be going back to this facility. read more

Stay away from this place. They have given membership to thousands of people and you wont ever find court unless you love playing at midnight. Courts are also booked for special events or lessons most of the times. Once you are in you wont get out as there is 12 month contract, 30 day notice and $150 early termination. Dont get burned. I joined AV Tennis about two years ago, this month is their third anniversary and for a 36 month old baby they sure have come a long way and a longer way to go on their path to improvement, as a traveling professional for the past 40+ years I have had membership to several tennis clubs therefore my posted club rating has some beef to it..friendly and knowledgable staff taking care of four medium velocity hard surface courts that over eight USTA certified coaches present and share the best of "total tennis concept" on a friendly yet professional atmosphere, aside from a USTA playing team member I also take lessons on regular basis...never had a lesson cancel on me without prior notifications and never had a court taken from me on personal favor basis either..membership fees are quite reasonable with no court or ball machine fees and for one who plays on regular basis it is heaven...once home from business then this is the club that i look forward to go to and this one vis a keeper...for sure. Please never take membership here. The member services are pathetic. They will charge you even before they provide you access to book courts. The management is pathetic and does not value your money. They just want to mint dollars without giving any attention to their members, their needs. I have been a member at this club for about four months now and I it's one of the better decisions I've made since moving to Seattle. The staff is friendly, and you can either take private lessons or just practice at the 4 courts they have available. One thing they could improve is to have more times freed up to book courts. Their matchup system could use some work, but great place to play. Even though it's shared with a cross-fit facility, it's ok becuase they're not disruptive while playing matches. This club is arrogant and does not take blame when the pro does not show up and you are left standing there.
