From October1, 2023 to April 1, 2024, our group played pickleball at Gorin in Redmond. The experience through out the whole time was amazing! Staff members were friendly, courteous and very understanding as we worked through some issues at the beginning. They make billing and check in simple for our group. I want to give a thumbs up to Deepa for helping me with an issue I was having as a newbie using their court reservation system. First, let me explain that I am part of a group of pickleball players that have been routinely paying and using the courts at this facility for 3 years on a weekly basis. We've collectively probably spent ~$15,000 over the years as they have changed policies and the fee structure -- increasing the cost every year. The cost to us has basically doubled in that timeframe. Along with the changes came a new court reservation system. I used the system as a guest and I accidentally reserved for the wrong day. I didn't realize it until later that night and left a message. The long and short of it is that I ended up having to call back a couple of times to follow up because their mysterious Russian "general manager", who is never available, kept trying to force me to buy a membership before she would allow me to make the change. Deepa tried to explain to her that it was my first time and so, mistakes will happen. She kept texting her to let her know how I felt about the situation and it finally got resolved, but only with my frustration and Deepa's help. So, my kudos go to Deepa for helping me with this situation. She's a 5-star employee at a 1-star facility which is why I am giving it 3 stars. Thank you, Deepa! They were relatively cheaper than other tennis centers, but now that they increased their membership fee and the class / the court fee, such the competitive advantages are gone too. read more

I used to love this place until a year ago. New management - all they care about is making money. Kid got covid? you cant cancel a 125$ private lesson. Very different feel from 2021/22 where the staff and coaches were super friendly. Now it feels even the coaches hate management and are stressed out because of the commercial feel. read more

I recently came to Redmond Tennis Club for their Pickleball Drill and Social Play last Tuesday during my lunch hours for a fun work out and I FELL IN LOVE!!! I'm hooked, it's so fun and easy to learn. I heard about it from a friend who comes for tennis lessons there all the time. It was so fun, and the people were extremely nice AND most of them play everyday at RTC! It was so easy to meet new people to play with and there are different levels of experience, I played with the beginner groups, but there were some really REALLY good players on the other courts, that definitely seem more competitive. I had a good time during the drill session because the instructor teaches you how to hit correctly and the rules (I think the Drills are on Tuesday & Thursday 12:30-1pm), Then after Drill Tuesday - Friday is the actual play time from 1-3pm. They are very communicative and working hard to resolve the issues and I already see the benefits. The thing is, me and my son love to play tennis here and we dont want this place to degenerate so that we have to leave. If they continue to improve court facilities for members it will be great and we will stay and enjoy tennis here. This tennis Club is the most expensive I've been to for lessons. They use old balls really really old balls. They charge $40 per lesson which is outrageous. And the coach doesn't teach you much just runs you through a lot of drills. read more

I really like the instructors here. Marcos' techniques are really effective and the exercises he has you do are fun too. Siggi and Alex have also been helping my husband improve his tennis game (he's obsessed!). I didn't realize how accomplished the instructors are until I got to know them more. This facility is really nice and secluded. I will be enrolling my young daughter soon into one of their Dot programs (I visited while some kid classes were going on and the children were having a blast while exercising!). New owners have recently taken over at Redmond Tennis Club and they are doing an excellent job! The club is open to the public, courts are very reasonably priced as well as the lessons. The owners have successfully run the Bellevue Tennis Academy for years and now bring all that enthusiasm and expertise to Redmond. The facility is nice and clean, but I don't come here for tennis. I actually only come here because of their resident massage therapist, Desmond Loo. I have not found a massage therapist as attentive and talented as Desmond. I found Desmond out of pure luck, and once I tried him, every other massage therapist seem like amateurs compared to him. I'll tell my MT's that I have a tight neck and shoulders, and they'll acknowledge, but their pressure and session is too generic and light. So I leave feeling like I got little value and worse yet the MT didn't even listen to me. Now the massages I ask from him are not very relaxing during the massage (except when you feel the muscle soften up) but afterwards: MY GOD my neck and back feel so much better and it's worth every penny. I'm sure he can give those "froufrou" relaxing massages, but I don't ask for those because they're pretty useless for me. Mine are specifically to relieve my deep tension in my neck and upper back. Desmond was the first and only MT that listened to my concerns, verified the level of tension during the session and adjusted his pressure according to my tolerance. He's great! I've tried other massage therapists and I still go back to Desmond. Now ladies if you feel weird about having a guy massage therapist, Desmond is a consummate professional and not only ensures you stay covered but also keeps his eyes pointed away from you. I've never ever felt like his touches were inappropriate and I've had him massage my quads and glutes without any alarm. If he moves, I'll go wherever he goes. Yes, he's that good, in fact he's excellent. They don't take insurance which is the only downside but Desmond is worth every penny. read more

I signed up my son for 2 weeks summer camp under the assumption it would be an outdoor camp ,but it turned out to be an indoor camp . My son did attend the first day camp and did not like it . But being a working mom and having my son at home for 4 months I really wanted him try it out so though he was not happy I would have convinced him to go. But the Covid situation I am very skeptical to send him to an indoor camp and decided to cancel it totally. I called up reception and lady was sympathetic of the situation but was really not helping me much on the total of $500 I had on the camps . She kept repeating the 2 week refund policy . So I told her that it was only after phase 2 opened in King county did I sign him up ,again under the assumption that it is outdoor camp.So I asked if I could talk to the manager and that's where my biggest disappointment comes . She spoke to me on how bad my son was performing and how pathetic he would do if he would moved to the outdoor camp as apparently those camp has kids who play matches.I would have accepted the feedback for my son and would have accepted it constructively but not like this with the tone she spoke.I told her my son had attended previous tennis camps and she asked me how many rallies my son can do or some tennis term she used. I told her that I myself am not a tennis player so I had no clue of what she was asking me. I felt intimidated by her talks.She did credit me my next week camp for future purchase due to their refund policy but she kept on repeating on how grateful she was in doing so . I really was annoyed with all the examples she was quoting because it was really not helping the conversation I wanted to have. I totally understand the circumstances we are in at the same time I would like my son to attend classes that will teach him and motivate me to push him in the right direction and not make choices that I will have to repent. $500 is a lot I feel I have invested for this camp . I did not feel as bad paying for the camp as I thought my son would have a good time but now it is a total rip. I have taken my son to so many other classes in the area but I am really disappointed by this one and one of my worst experiences. I appreciate the lady crediting the amount for future purchase but I would not go for this class again once I have spent the credit.A very bad experience I had today . I was really frustrated yesterday with the management that are ready to enforce their refund policy but not outdoor activity. I have attached a picture of what they posted on their website regarding outdoor activities for the camps which is not what they did actually in the camp. I really do not know the coaches so I do not want to reflect anything on the coaches or their program but my frustration is purely on the management. read more

I've started sending my daughter at RTC for Premier lessons after being at ETC Kirkland for an year because it's much closer to where I live. There are many coaches for every session which is great, and the problem I see with this is there is no one closely focusing on the technique of the kids and helping them improve because the coach keeps switching from one group to another. I tried talking to one of the coach and they couldn't tell the areas that my kid needs to work on, all I got was a general advise that she needs to work on the technique. Well I know that and that's the reason why we are sending our kids for lessons, It would be great if they talk to the parents with more specific details. read more
