HIRE THIS COMPANY!!  I used Yelp to get a bid on a local moving job for the Knoxville area. We wanted it done ASAP. It went out to about five moving companies (this was on Saturday)  Within 10 minutes Ky from Bellhop at the Chattanooga office called me. Bellhop was the first to respond. Ky was so nice and extremely courteous. He helped us figure out what we needed. The price he quoted was a good fair price. Because of Ky we immediately felt confident and agreed to hire Bellhop. We received a confirmation for the job on the same day. Next day (Sunday) we got a notification with the pictures of our movers who were Alec and Austin. Alec also texted us to confirm the time etc. Alec and Austin arrived on Monday at our storage unit ON TIME and ready to work. They loaded the truck and we drove to our apartment. Let me tell you Alec and Austin were incredible. They worked their butts off NON STOP. We are on the third floor with TWO SETS OF STAIRS. They brought everything up with a smile and always asked us where we wanted things placed. We saw Alec carrying two very heavy large boxes at a time (like they were empty!) Me and my husband were shocked and impressed with the strength and stamina Alec and Austin had. And they did it in such an upbeat courteous friendly manner. They were fast too.  Nothing was damaged either no walls touched, no floors scratched. PERFECT! They were able to get heavy items up the stairs we thought we were going to have to leave behind and they were so nice about doing it! They made an incredibly stressful move stressless for us!  We are 100% happy with Bellhop and will definitely use them again. Ask for the team Alec and Austin. Many items went missing or were broken during the move, even though Bellhop said a dedicated moving truck only for your move would make sure everything arrived safe and sound to you. Do not use Bellhop if you care about your belongings, because they certainly don't! Using this service is like playing russian roulette with your moving team. The team I received was untrained, unprofessional, disrespectful of my possessions, stole an item, tried to get in a fight with one of my buildings maintenance workers and cost me thousands of dollars beyond the thousands I was paying for the move. Some people may get lucky and have a good experience. I did not. It took weeks to get a canned response to my damage claims with the end result being $0.60/pound on damaged items. What that means is a $400 payment on over $4K in damages. And the $100 item that was stolen (not damaged)... $2.00 reimbursement! Even when speaking to the moving company that was contracted, they admitted to every shortcoming, fired the employees that were involved, and stated I shouldn't be charged for this move. Going back to Bellhop, I received very little support and even less compensation. I'm sure they will say "this is a rare occurrence" and "they're sorry for the inconvenience," but this was more of a violation than an inconvenience with Bellhop being the only ones walking away happy. Don't risk it. Hire someone who cares, will stand behind their brand, and will probably even be cheaper. DON'T USE BELLHOP. read more

I cannot say enough, how negative the experience was with this company! First, I must say that the individuals that actually did some of the moving were hard-working and kind! But the company totally messed up this entire thing! We had a long distance, move scheduled and significant things went wrong. The truck did not show up to pick up the furniture, When it finally did show up 14 hours late there had to be a whole new crew to pack and load the truck. They did not finish until after midnight! In the process of loading the truck there was significant damage to a door within the home we were moving out of. Also after having described in detail, all that was to be brought with the move the movers still left behind and exercise equipment. It was just one machine that could easily have been moved out of the unit by removing a bedroom door off of the hinges. They were refused to do so, and left the machine behind without any warning. The next issue was that the truck was still to arrive on time at its destination with all of our materials. It did not arrive until nine hours later than we were told. In the meantime, Work crew came and left because the truck was not there and did not return. Therefore, we had to unload the truck ourselves into our new home. Throughout the two days of the loading and unloading every phone call I had with the people at Bell hops help line would promise different things that never came true! If I could count the number of untruth that I was told Throughout those two days I don't know if I could count! Trying to make this right the company provided 15% of the cost of the move back to us! That no way will pay for the cost of shipping the exercise machine or for the frustration that we had!I did receive a payment for the damage to the door in the furniture which was satisfactory. Other than that, I would never use this company ever ever! As of now, I am waiting to hear back from a supervisor about the possibility of moving the machine that was left behind. If they end up shipping that to us or getting it to us in someway, then I will for sure post another review to amend my information here so everyone knows the true nature of the company. read more

I used Yelp get a quote from several movers in town and Bellhops was the only one with a 5 star rating and they still came in lower that almost everyone else. I made my purchase over the phone. They were great to work with and helped determine the number of movers and estimated time. They even talked me down in the number of movers to save me money. The day of the move they arrived on time and ready to work. I was initially hesitant because they seemed pretty young, but they were extremely professional and took great care of our stuff. They loaded things quickly and carefully. All the while they suggested that I sit with my feet up and let them take care of everything. They delivered our belongings to our new home and put things where they were directed. They even offered to carry up boxes from the garage that we'd brought over earlier. They really were great! They finished under the time quoted and even charged us less than we were expecting to pay. It really was a top notch experience. read more

I had an amazing experience with Bellhops. They started by responding immediately to my inquiry. The sales person I spoke with asked good questions and she was very informative, very clear and concise, explaining all fees and charges. The day before the move they texted with pictures of the movers and sent reminders for changing mail, getting utilities switched and other helpful tips. Dean S. and Kaleb M. were especially helpful on the day of the move. They were early, polite, hard working, and went for hours and hours. I do not recommend bellhops and will never use them again. I purchased a Groupon for 200 dollars towards two hours of moving services. Their minimum according to their website is 2 hours. Our movers took 2 hours yet we are charged 400 dollars as opposed to the 2. Their explanation was the Groupon only gives you 200 dollars off and doesn't work for the 2 hour minimum. To add insult to injury the movers had to put our 55 inch TV into our car because it didn't have a box. The movers couldn't cover any damages from being in the truck due to it not having a box. They put it in our car and unloaded it with zero assistance. THEY ARE FLAT OUT REFUSING TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGES TO OUR CAR WHERE THEY STUFFED IT IN THE BACK SEAT IN ORDER TO MAKE IT FIT. THE DAMAGES ARE OVER 2,000 Dollars. Avoid at all costs!!!! read more

Absolutely horrible experience. Movers did not show up. Received email that I didn't see immediately. They said I had 15 miutes to call back. Claimed they were at our home & no one was there. Also said they tried to call our #. My husband was home with a uhaul parked in the driveway & the front door standing open. The # they called was not even close to mine-even area code was incorrect. I called the # they listed for problems with a move, sat on hold for almost an hour & no one ever answered. Tried their chat system next. Spent around 45 minutes trying to get an answer. No luck. Left my number for a return call. Finially received a call at 4:02 in which they let my phone ring twice and hung up. Both my husband & I took off work & rented a truck. Now we are stuck. We just used Bellhop Moving for a move in Knoxville, Tn. Our moves were Stephen Spidell and Aexander Brown. We can't express in words how great this experience was. These guys were professional, polite, and humorous. Every part of the move was excellent starting with their prompt arrival. Bellhop keeps you informed of every step with emails and texts. You get to communicate with the actual moving team. Stephen called me the night before with a reminder of the arrival time. During the move, we were hit by severe storms with an actual tornado touching down a quarter of a mile away. These guys continued the move under very scary conditions. They only stopped for 15 minutes because they had to close the truck to protect our belongings. They continued the move under these stressful conditions. Not one piece of our belongings got wet. Scheduled a small two room move of my mother into an independent living apartment. The night before our scheduled move I get an email saying they need to reschedule. I called multiple times to find out what was going on. I could never get through. I replied to the email as a last resort and got a reply. They said they would give us 25%off if we would reschedule. I had to agree because I couldn't find anyone else. The move went ok on the rescheduled day, but we were charged full price. I wouldn't recommend this company. read more

From the very first call to the day of our move, Bellhop was fantastic to work with. When I booked my services, the associate was so kind and funny that I felt like I was talking to a friend. On the day of the move, we were struck by some awful weather, but one of the customer service reps along with our moving team lead, Stephen, worked so hard to move things around and make sure we were taking care of that we never had to worry. And they were so communicative in the process! The move itself went smoothly - it was the least stressful move I've ever experienced (and I've experienced my fair share, whether mine, my friends, or my family). Stephen and his team treated our belongings like their own, and they were thorough in making sure that everything made it to the room is was supposed to be in. And most importantly, they were super nice. I cannot recommend Bellhop enough. I wish I could give negative stars. This is the second awful experience I've encountered with this company. The first was a couple of years ago when I was moving from Tampa to Tennessee and one of the movers didn't show up to work so I had to help move everything. They did refund me completely but it was still an inconvenience. The latest was episode was simply atrocious customer service and poor logistics on their part. I was scheduled for Friday 12/30/17 at 4pm and got a call from their call center at 2pm stating that they couldn't be there at 4 and suggested some other local moving companies. I told them this was unacceptable and they could come anytime that night as long as it was done. They told me that could be an option that they "thought I had to be done by 7pm" for some reason. They told me they would call me back but never did. I had to find some uninsured guy on craigslist because these fools screwed me over a day before new years eve weekend. I love seeing local businesses flourish. I gave them another shot because they are Tennesseeans. However, they are simply unreliable. I will never use them again and will advise everyone I hear talking about them to stay away. I hope you go out of business....you're that poor of a business. WOW. While shopping for a moving company to move us from one home to another within about 5 miles of each other, I went on Yelp, found the top-rated company, and expected top-rated results. Instead, we ended up with broken furniture, missing pieces off of furniture and appliances, and furniture with large chunks gouged out of them...pretty much ruining stuff that cost thousands to purchase just a few years earlier. Hardly top-rated results. The guy that was foreman for our job decided to skip deodorant that day as well, so every time I had to speak with him, I had to hold my breath as best I could so I wouldn't have to take in the noxious B.O. I was surprised his fellow crewmates didn't say something to him because they had to work closer with him for the entire day. Reported the damage and experience to the company, and we got all of $180 deducted from our final bill. That's on me though. I took the "standard" coverage for the move...again, with the expectation that a company as highly-rated on Yelp would give superior service and care to our items. I don't want to cast the entire experience as bad, though. Some of the crew members were very professional, and if the entire team had performed like them, I'm sure I'd have a much different review to give. One guy was so conscientious that, if I'd had a job in my company to offer him, I would have tried to poach him. The main thing I want to advise others is that this company is just like all the other moving companies out there...they break stuff, they have some (not all...but all it takes is one) employees that will treat your stuff like garbage, and then leave you with an expensive bill for a subpar job. I work in an industry where I see lots of moving companies and their workers. I'm always on the lookout for companies I can recommend to my customers for superior service. I was hoping this company would be one of those. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Do not spend extra money on these guys. If you really need to move then DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I called and set up my move With no issues. I got a call from them the day of and also a text from Dean letting me know that he would see me the next morning. Then at 10:00 p.m. later that night i get a call stating the truck broke down and they would have to reschedule to the following day. Ihave taken off work for this move i scheduled a week ago but ok guess things do happen. Then when i call them the next day i am rushed off the phone with a promise of a return phone call as soon as Kristin talks to the operations center to confirm and figure out whats going on. How does she not know whats going on wasnt she the one who called me at 10pm the night before? 2 hours later still no return call. I call another company set it up and call bellhops back she still doesnt have a answer regarding my new appointment. Let them know I no longer need their services no apologies NOTHING. Would never use them again!! I used them to move my furniture to a climate controlled storage unit while my home was being remodeled due to water damage in some of the rooms. Six months later when my home was ready and it was time to move the furniture back to the house, I found damage three pieces of my furniture. They also knocked a chunk of the drywall from one of the walls during the move. When I called them to see if there was anything they could do about the damaged furniture they said no, it has been too long. Even though I explained the situation that there was no reason to move the furniture until the house was ready they said too much time had passed. So, if you value your furniture and don't want it damaged by rookie movers DON'T use Bellhops!!! read more

If I could give I negative 10 star I would've. We had our mover scheduled for a month, made all necessary adjustments. First off the driver showed up late after I called and told the office how to get to my home. Lack of communication. Second only one mover showed up and. We had scheduled for three movers and customer service is a joke they changed my order without a email confirmation. Poor management, I called to talk with them i was on hold for 42 mins while pleading with them to find more workers. Me and the one mover had truck a third of the way full with my garage. They told me that we had to unload the back into the home and reschedule another day. If you have read this far down I would NOT use BELLhop because their reviews are not completely true. Just totally unorganized and poorly managed. I am US Army veteran and this completely made me look at this moving company from a different angle. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR A MOVE. I hired two college students to come unload my 6' x 12' uhaul trailer. I thought it would take them over an hour. However, they were two of the hardest workers that I have had the pleasure of dealing with. They arrived ten minutes early to the appointment time. The guys were professional, courteous, hardworking and always had a smile. They unloaded the trailer in 40-45 minutes. I was surprised by the amount of care they took with my items. They did not lay boxes just anywhere but would look for writing on the sides. For example, if the box said "pots and pans" then they would take that box to the kitchen. They also took the time after they were done to tell me a little about the Knoxville area. Overall, this was a fantastic experience and I would give them a 10/10 for my overall experience. I highly recommend them! You get the same exceptional experience as professional movers, one-quarter of the cost of professional movers and you are able to help college students make extra money.
