Love this place and I can agree with how it's run because of the current situation with homelessness and vagrancies. Management is on it!

Not to mention that he gave me suggestions on when to begin renting the storage unit which made my dollar go farther.

Belinda is absolutely amazing! She always keeps the property clean and is soo helpful and friendly!…read moreThat said, public storage is a nightmare to rent from. The amount I pay to rent here has gone up twice since I moved in about a year ago, about $150 more than when I moved in, and the fees are insane! Online they listed my rent at $402. So that is what I paid. In just this month they have charged me 2 late fees over $100 each. 7 days into the month! They said it was because the database made a mistake and my rent was $140 more, but even though I paid what it said they refused to waive the fees. I spent days trying to get answers from corporate telemarketers in other countries. I didnt know my rent went up and I didnt pay enough to cover it and they fee-bombed me. This is a heartless corporation, not a mom and pop place, they will gouge you if they can and once I get caught up I plan to move out.

I needed a place to put ' keep' items and even boxes I just couldn't get through. I read reviews and Public Storage looked professional and reasonable. Until my son brought over the final truckload of items we needed stored. We had rented the truck for 24 hours; $75 + mileage, which was great. But when my son arrived that evening during business hours, he had no gate access. He called me. I called both phone numbers for the manager. Left messages. No answer. It was urgent because I live on a fixed budget, and to rent the truck again, brought our bill from $75 to $275. We finally gained access the next day, but that brought our truck rental price up. I don't understand what's happening because after paying over twice what we should have paid for the truck had Public Storage lived up to their end of the bargain, my son was there days later in the evening during open hours and the manager, the same women I had left copious messages for, came up and asked what he was doing there. She didn't believe that I existed, apparently and had mad delusions? I'm not quite sure, but I definitely do not recommend Public Storage in Bellingham Washington.

Owners live on-site, electronic surveillance 24/7, computerized security keypad and gate. All units ( many different sizes) are located on one level...no elevators to wrestle with. Owners are professional, friendly and extremely helpful. After selling my condo and needing storage fast, the move was stress-free. Also free was the moving truck they provided and a lock. The units are temperature-controlled and tall. I was able to stack it full to the ceiling!

I've stored my stuff there while staying with a friend and looking for my own place. I signed-up for auto-pay in good faith that it wouldn't be taken advantage of. I was especially motivated to sign-up given their insane late policy: Rent is due on the 1st, your gate code is deactivated on the 2nd, then $25 fees are applied on the 11th, 16th and 30th. Oh and also, there's the additional $40 certified fee on the 30th and another $50 fee after 45 days. I guess I should of known when I read this that they're in the business of nickel and diming, not the business renting storage units in a fair and ethical way. When I got my place last week, I called Cordata and gave 10-days notice, as specified in the contract. I expected to be refunded the rent for the remainder of the month, about $32. Why else would you give 10 days notice? Well, it has nothing to do with doing right by the customer. It's so that they can collect the full month's rent from you, while simultaneously collecting from the new customer who they move in 10-days after you move out. The really crappy thing, is that their policies trapped me with no way out. I considered unenrolling in auto-pay as the first of the month was approaching and it looked like I was going to get a place, but then they would have deactivated my gate code on the 2nd and I would have had to deal with that while trying to get my stuff out and move into a new place. At this point, I should just keep my lock on the unit through the end of the month, I'm paying for it right? Then what the heck with the 10 days notice!? I mean, is this not illegal? Requiring 10 days move out notice then charging you for the time after that 10 days??? They nickel and dimed a good tenant, showed a lack of ethics in favor of a few bucks and in turn, they've compromised good reviews and potentional referrals down the line. Bad way to do business.
