Future brides! Do not go here!!! I ordered a wedding dress and it looked really bad. They are made in China and I don't know what kind of factory they use but it looked really cheap and the bust part wasn't even look the same. One part is pointier than the other part and they don't care about my dress either. Always same answer came back. "Nothing we can do about it" Horrible customer service and all they care is get the money from you. It is not handmade for sure and comparing the price I paid I could had bought much better looking dress from bhldn shop for cheaper price. There are so many much better bridal shops for dresses than bello in Vancouver or online shops. Choosing Bello was my biggest mistake and this place has given me lots of stress when you need to deal with other stuff to do. And also I tried to cancel my order the very next day and of course they refused. I strongly recommend not to go this place so no more upset brides because of this place. read more

It happened quite awhile ago, but the people at Bello Wedding World were so awful that I still give the store a finger when I walk past. Shopping is never my favourite activity, and shopping for a wedding dress is especially anxiety-inducing. My sister thought Bello looked like a nice store, so I called and made an appointment to try on some dresses there. When I arrived, they weren't especially warm, but cordial enough. As I looked around the store, I thought they had some nice dresses, but really, it was mostly the same styles I had seen at other stores, and the prices were a bit steeper here. None of the salesladies really helped us, and so we decided to go take a look in the back room where the sale-price dresses were. That's when things started to get ugly. We were just looking around in there when one of the staff appeared and told us sharply to take our shoes off in that room. Oh, we said, noticing the little sign on the door, but thinking she was being unnecessarily bitchy all the same, seeing as how we had made an appointment, and first they ignored us and now were chastising us. I tried on a couple dresses, but no one came to help me in and out of the dresses. And I think the only reason one came back to glower at us from the doorway was to make sure we weren't going to steal something. I guess I just wasn't in their desirable price range. I had pretty much made up my mind that Bello would not be my wedding dress store, but on my way out, I stopped to look at a book of photographer samples, since I hadn't hired anyone for that yet. The salesladies were helping another customer, and one of them simply grabbed the book out of my hands. I was shocked; luckily my sister had more presence of mind. As they all stood around the other customer, fawning over her, my sister yelled, "Your customer service sucks!" I'm willing to forgive a lot out there in retail land, but Bello pushed all my buttons. read more

I bought my dress here and it was a part of the sample sale ($790). No photos are allowed and I recommend making an appointment before going in. The dresses all fit small. I am around 105lbs so most of the dresses either fit me or are tight. I don't recommend coming here if you are size 10 or above since they don't have many dresses in larger sizes to try on at the store. read more

Getting married and need a dress? With all the scary, tacky, or pushy-sales places around the city, Bello is a breath of fresh air. You can make an appointment to have your own fitting room and a sales person to help you in and out of the dresses (some get pretty complicated). My friend found the perfect dress for her and it turned out to be on sale for $600. They do the alterations for you there, and spent extra time making sure that the bead-work on her dress was perfect before she picked it up for her big day. The ladies in the shop were super sweet to us and took all the time we needed. There's none of the huge sighs and eye-rolling when you want to try on the 20th dress. I have been through there as a part of two different bridal parties, and the prices for bridesmaid dresses are reasonable: in the $150-$250 range. And one of the dresses I did actually wear again to a formal Christmas party - who knew it was possible? read more

bello bridal had some nice dresses but, they had a small selection of bridal gowns and most of the gowns were sizes so small I couldn't even fit my butt in. The girl helping me was nice but, not that helpful she left my room messy and there was dresses everywhere and I started to feel very overwhelmed.. she kept trying to give me dresses that didn't even fit me. What is the point of trying on something that I know I can't even get on she was making me so frustrated because I told her im not going to fit this and she insisted I try still. She tried giving me a dam size four which I am no where near!! Over all I left unsatisfied and a little self conscious which sucked. They have a smaller selection than some other places and they carry dresses with a wide range of prices, from super budget clearance ($199) to dramatic dresses going for $1600+. They have some nice dresses here, particularly their lace gowns. That said, my reservation about this place is their sales staff are quite pushy about selling you dresses. They can put on the pressure. I could browse freely but they definitely hovered more than I'd like. Overall, they're nice ladies and you just tell them you want some time to think and browse. read more

I didnt' end up getting my dress from here because they had such limited selection of what I wanted in store- but the staff were really nice trying to help me look for dresses that matched my preferences in the catalogues. This place DID have some of the cheapest prices on the same dresses that I was looking at in other stores. Terrible experience! I tried a traditional chinese wedding dress for rental but it was too big for me. They told me i could order a smaller size for purchase (at double the price of a rental), so I did. When my dress arrived, it was exactly the same size as the rental, even larger if anything. It would have costed an arm and a leg to alter it to fit me. They did not offer me any options (such as offering to throw in the alteration for me or even discount the alteration) and would not give me back my deposit. I was stuck with the dress and ended up having to find another one elsewhere! Thank goodness I found LT fashion on victoria and 43rd. They had way nicer selection and half the price to buy! read more

I bought my wedding dress and veil at Bello. I dealt mainly with Pearl, who is the loveliest little lady. She is a gem. However, the rest of the team really leaves something to be desired. The selection is good and they will order in dresses for you (this is what I did). However, my big beef with them was the alterations. I paid over $300 for my alterations. I picked my dress up two days before my wedding. Given all that was going on, I didn't check the dress closely enough, apparently. On my wedding day, I noticed the cups for the bust were not sewn in!! They were stuck in with 4 inch stick pins!! Thank goodness someone had a sewing kit and my bridesmaid managed to patch them in, while my dress was on me! How ridiculous!! I left for my honeymoon two days after the wedding and really was so exhausted I couldn't be bothered to go in and make a stink. I am sure they would not have reimbursed me a penny. I also had a dress altered there in 2008 for a wedding party. The straps had to be shortened. During the wedding one of the straps fell off!! Terrible work. So here's my recap: if you want a certain dress that Bello carries, go there and try it on. Don't get your dress altered there. the service (aside from Pearl) is absolutely mediocre and is not what wedding dress shopping should be. read more

Bello was the first wedding dress / bridal store we hit after getting engaged. The initiation was slightly off-putting, mainly due to the service. From entrance to exit, we felt somewhat ancillary. After entering, we waited a palpable amount of time while the staff members seemed to ignore us. Rather invalidating. When we were eventually spoken to, the service seemed distracted and uninterested. They did have some nice dresses (such as the pronovia line) but nothing really compelling or remarkable. We did a quick run through the dresses by ourselves but didn't see anything to warrant us staying too long. Wouldn't consider coming back and wouldn't recommend. I would recommend Something Blue (where we eventually found the most fantastic wedding dress), Bisou Bridal and even New West Bridal Row (which is over-the-top and not our style but has tons of selection) or Action Liquidators (if you're on a super-tight budget). read more

A friend of mine had recommended Bello Wedding World. I have always seen it on Main st but never really paid attention to it. They are very gentle and friendly. Never pushy at all. I liked how they let you take your time, try on any dresses you want without limit and are very clean and neat as well. Pearl was very kind and professional. She even was able to recommend make up and hair and photography to me and I really liked her recommendations. I was very happy with the dress and all her service. I would highly recommend Bello if you are looking for a place that has a wide variety of dresses, personal service, no pushiness, place where they could provide other services as well ( such as make up, decor, rentals, and photography) and that gives you time to consider without feeling any pressure to buy- then this is the place to be. I went to another place and they told me that if I picked the dress on the first day that I went there that they would give me 20% off but that this was only available on that day- I felt it was such high pressure sales tactic. Bello Wedding world carries over 600 lines of wedding dresses. It's typical catalogue wedding dresses mostly and nothing that unique, but their window displays are great. A friend was getting married so she asked me to come with her and help her try on dresses.The staff were very nice, but are strict with their no shoes policy and can be a little stuffy. I think they have to take themselves seriously. It's a 360 Degree wedding experience with bridal make-up, hair, photos all available if you need it. I purchased my wedding gown here. They offered me the best price in town for my gown. I didn't feel I got top notch service here. At times some of the workers were quite cold and rude. They just looked miserable to be working there. I always just felt like I was hassling them. They even had teenagers working there, which I found to be quite odd. She was a tiny 15 year old girl who was under 5 feet tall. I didn't like the fact that they make you take off your shoes and wear those gross old plastic slippers! I would much rather go bare feet. I was here twice because the first time I didn't find anything in my budget but Pearl was kind enough to let me know that there would be more sales in a few months time so I went back again. Pearl and the other sales associate Angus were very patient and listened to what my budget was and what styles I liked. Tessa helped me in and out of dresses and was very calm, professional, yet laid back. She wrote down the styles I liked and put no pressure to buy right there. My wedding was June 2017 so I am a bit late but really want to share my experience. My wedding dress was mermaid style and fitted to my figure. I had numerous fittings with Mary and she had to continuously take it in due to me losing weight. I lost a total of 15lbs for my wedding as I was also training for the sun run. She never once complained and I couldn't have asked for a better seamstress. In the end all of the staff made sure my dress was perfect for my special day. They are all friendly, helpful and genuinely cared about me being happy with my dress. I can't thank Mary enough for all of her hard work and patience. She knows what she's doing and makes you feel reassured that you're in good hands. She's a lot of fun too so I always looked forward to seeing her for my fittings. Bello Wedding World was a fantastic breath of fresh air. After searching the city to find the perfect bridesmaids dress I realized this was definitely the place to be. I didn't have an appointment but they still welcomed me and I received the best service possible. Many of the dresses I saw were beautiful chiffon and all had gorgeous silhouettes. It was hard to choose one. I found the perfect dress and they held it for me a few days before leaving for my sister's destination wedding. Overall a fantastic experience. The price points were very affordable they started at 150 to about 270 dollars. For something unique, fun but still elegant it is definitely the place to be. read more

Horrendous customer service I went into Bello to buy a wedding crown yesterday. When I went back to return it today with a valid receipt, the cashier questioned me over and over about why I wanted to return it, and then I had to stand there and listen to a long phone conversation in a language I did not understand. She didn't explain what the conversation was about, but at the end of it she would not offer any refund or exchange. This was never made clear to me when I bought it. Ok here it goes. Over a year ago I went to Bello and as soon as I walked in the door I was abruptly told I should have booked an appointment before coming and to take my shoes off and put on clogs. I understand taking shoes off because of the expensive white dresses but let's just say they didn't make me feel too welcome. I found a nice stretchy red dress that fit perfectly and they said they can order it from China in white stretchy satin so I paid for it up front in full as they asked, taking their word the right dress would arrive. It took over two months to arrive and during that time I had to cancel my wedding due to something bad that happened. However when the dress arrived it was in a gross yellow non stretchy non satin colour and they beads were cacky yellow, it was in a cheap non shiny bed sheet type material and was way smaller even tho I'd still lost 25 lbs and totally different from the other one. I originally told them I'd still buy the dress even though I cancelled my wedding but when a completely different dress arrived from what I ordered and even Bello agreed this was the case, they still refused to refund me stating I'd have to purchase something else. So I told her to just order me the original red one I tried on and I'll have to use it for a red carpet event in the future. I thought this was unethical considering what I ordered didn't arrive and that I still would have bought the wedding dress if the right one arrived as money is not an issue with me. I decided to order two additional pairs of sparkly shoes to go with the red dress from her. She said I had to pay for them in full then they will arrive from China in 30 days and she will call me. I was put off by this since they had full payment for my dress and I still had no dress. So I gave her my credit card number for the two pairs of additional shoes and she wrote it down in a paper pad. I repeatedly called every couple months and either nobody knew what I was talking about or I was then told they lost my credit card number and they would re-order the shoes and call me within 30 days. So I explained my frustration but nobody seemed to care. So I keep calling leaving messages on voice mail and with people and here we are almost 16 months later, my cc # is floating around on a paper written somewhere, I have no dress, they have full payment and nobody is returning my calls. What's even more discouraging is I'm an ordained minister and they shared with me they too are Christian and this whole scenario goes completely against what our Christian faith is about. I wasn't about to write a review but felt I have no choice. If they rectify the situation I'll change my review to a more positive one otherwise I'll possibly file in small claims court. Although our faith states we are not to sue the brethren, it is not my belief they can possibly be Christians and be this unethical. Update: I got my money back so I put it up to a 2 Star read more

I was looking for a specific wedding dress and after a quick google search I was on my way to Bello May 2014 to view it. Turns out it was not the right dress but they quickly found a dress similar that I instantly fell in love with and decided to buy. The sales lady was very helpful and nice and didn't mind my entourage running around pulling dresses for me to try even though I was committed to mine. I put the deposit on the dress and left feeling pretty happy with the overall experience. I was also told my dress would be in November 2014. I emailed in November to ask if my dress had arrived and I got an email back informing me that my dress would be in mid January 2015. Confused I asked why I was told November and they responded by telling me: "Sorry for the delay. As the dress supposed be coming in November, but there is a communication error when we placed our order which delay the shipping date til January instead of November. We will for sure to have the dress in by mid January." Then they emailed asking to confirm the dress - sending me a photo of a dress that was not mine at all. Horrified that I would be getting the wrong dress I quickly let them know it was not the right dress and let them know which dress number was on my deposit receipt. They apologized again for the confusion, and then informed me that the lady who had worked there not only did NOT work there anymore, but had NOT even ordered my dress. I let them know I was a little unhappy with the experience and they promised me my dress would be in mid January 2015. By mid-January I had not heard anything and had to email them again to ask for an update, only to be told that the dress would be in at the end of January 2015. After a few more emails informing me of more shipping date changes, they finally informed me that the dress would be in by February 7. After much delay I was able to try on my dress. I brought it home right away and will have alterations done elsewhere. On the same day I had picked up my dressed I ordered my veils. We left them with specific instructions for one of the veils, I needed the comb reversed as we were turning this veil into a blusher and the details would be backwards if the comb had not been reversed. After a few months I was informed that the veils were in and when I got there and tried them on I quickly realized the instructions were not followed. I informed this new lady who had not worked there before of the mistake and she enthusiastically said sorry. I let her know that this would need to be changed quickly and she tried to tell me that I was actually wrong and that the veil was correct. I let her know that it wasn't and instead of listening she told me that the comb had been reversed and was correct. She then started closely observing the veil and I asked to see it for myself. Not listening she continued to look at the veil, and I had to ask again to see it, this time holding out my hand so she knew I wanted it. Not listening again I had to ask a third time to see the veil and had to actually take hold of the veil that she then still held onto for a few more seconds before finally letting it go. Frustrated, I informed her that I was very unhappy with the service that Bello had provided me over the last year. She then again muttered sorry and took my veil away to be altered. It's unfortunate as a Bride to experience a service like this. I hope that other Brides experience better quality service when they choose a bridal shop to work with. read more

I went to Bello with a friend and was excited as it seemed like a nice store on the outside. The sales people were rude and aloof and told me I could not take photos. This was weird as we had been able to in 2 other bridal stores on Hastings. I went to reach for my phone to show my friend one of the dresses she had tried on at a previous store as it looked so similar to the one she had on and the sales person who had been away in the other room most of the time, came around the corner and basically yelled at me "No photos!!!" and then promptly took off so I couldn't even tell her how rude and unnecessary her comment was. I am not deaf and English is my first language, I was so insulted that she thought that I was trying to "break the rules." Aside from that, she didn't speak to us very much nor did she provide very much information. We were the ones who prompted her to get sashes for the dress. She seemed snarky when she spoke to us as if we were inconveniencing her.They also didn't have the dress we were looking for but there was decent enough selection. It was not at all like say yes to the dress. I feel like I am being nice giving them a meh but 1 star would be a little harsh. read more

I explained what I was looking for and she pointed out some racks we might look at and then disappeared. But on my way home, I doubted that the dress was the one for me so when I called to tell them that I changed my mind & that I was coming by next morning to get a refund, they told me that it was too late & that I wasn't getting my money back. After a couple of stressful weeks of going back & forth with Bello, the manager/owner at the store finally met with me to return my money but he withheld the alteration fee even though the alterations were never done, he called it the "pinning fee"...really?! I had visited several wedding gown stores prior and many stores did not offer much selection for brides' size 3 or 4 to try on--Bello World did indeed! They offer various sizes 2-18 and have a wide-array of selection and styles of wedding dresses compared many stores which offered mainly low-cut in the front and low-revealing back style dresses. Pearl / staff was highly patient, supportive and helpful throughout the process. Lisa is great & personable too! Bello World offer many 50-90% off sales (sample sales) which can be a great deal & one doesn't have to wait for the order to arrive! Their gowns are a nice range in price ($500-$1600). They do alterations as well for additional charge although the process once your appointment is booked, felt a bit rushed in the store as they can be particularly busier on days when the seamstress works. Again, lots of sizes to choose from & try on, a huge selection of wedding dress styles, you may try on as many dresses as you like (private change room with surround mirrors) [no photos allowed until you have purchased your dress]. Bello also offers accessories (hair accessories, rings etc), wine, floral, decor, photography, bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses as well. I definitely recommend Bello World!! read more

Angus was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when I couldn't decide which dress to get, when I had questions about how my dress fit, etc. They had a variety of unique, classy, well-tailored dresses at reasonable prices. I wouldn't recommend shopping here, not only because they didn't have a wide selection of dresses but also the service is horrible and they completely ignored me and didn't even bother to help me.. And the most most bizarre part of my experience was as soon as I set foot on the wood floor Section of the store they immediately told me I had to take my shoes off since "shoes aren't allowed on the wood flooring" the floor wasn't even that nice to begin with so I was kind of confused.. and they told me to go put on some slippers, but not only that the slippers weren't even clean, they were filthy and very worn out and disgusting I thought I was going to get some kind of a fungus from them. If they make you wear slippers at least make sure they are clean and don't look like they are infested with diseases.. My rating on this place is 0 out of 10 read more

I was out with my family and my 85 year old grandmother desperately needed to use the washroom, so she went into Bello. The staff here treated her deplorably by making her leave her purse at the counter and to force her to take her shoes off when they could tell it caused her great pain and discomfort. They were not apologetic whatsoever when I confronted them and because of this I would never trust Bello with my business. The problem was not their fault. They also give honest opinion on whether something works on your body or not and they will tell you when something doesn't look good. One younger sales person is apathetic and aloof and the rest of the staff are kinda clueless when the owner is not around. Perhaps they don't get paid enough? I can't say enough about the wonderful experience we had at Bello! We arrived after a grueling few days of grad dress shopping for my daughter. She had been to five other stores over three days and had tried on too many dresses to count. She was beginning to feel a little disheartened, overwhelmed and was ready to call it a day when we decided to make one last stop. I'm so glad we did! The storefront was small and nothing glamorous but it goes to show that you can't judge a book by its cover. The service was exceptional! Our sales lady (I so wish we would have asked her name...we got a picture with her but no name) was encouraging and very accommodating without ever being pushy. Many of the stores we had been to were running from girl to girl just quickly tugging on the dresses & hastily clamping them in a couple of spots so they could get to the next one. This made it really hard to imagine how the dress would actually look in my daughter's size. At Bello, they took their time to pull each and every part of the dress in and pin it perfectly in place so she could see exactly how it should look on her. This made all the difference in the world. She had a large private dressing room (nothing fancy but very functional) so she didn't have to parade around in front of the entire store and they never rushed her or limited her to how many she could try. The selection was ideal. They didn't have hundreds of grad dresses but they did have a good variety so she could try different styles without being overwhelmed. The prices were super competitive and they had great sale prices! AND...when she did find the dress of her dreams there, the staff was so genuinely happy & excited for her that they called their seamstress in -- after hours on the weekend -- to alter it for us because we had come in out of province and needed to catch a plane home before she would be in again!!! The seamstress, Mary, arrived and had the whole dress pinned to perfection within 15 minutes. It was clear she knew exactly what she was doing. She altered the dress overnight and met us back at the store the following day (on a Sunday yet) for a final fitting. The dress fit like it had been made for her, without a second alteration required and we were able to take it home with us. We were so blown away by the amazing service. Those ladies had smiles on their faces the entire time, they seemed to love what they do, and they were so happy for my daughter. They took a situation that up to that point was becoming exhausting, impersonal and unsuccessful, and turned it into the most memorable and positive experience we could have asked for. I recently ordered a brides maid dress from Bello Wedding World. Before going in to order the dress I emailed and specifically asked if the dress was available at their store. They confirmed that they could order the dress for me. I went in got fitted and paid. I was told my dress would arrive sometime in April. Three and a half weeks after I paid for my dress they called to tell me they were unable to order the dress!!??!!! I don't understand how it could take them 3.5 weeks to figure out that they can't order a dress (that had already been paid for). When speaking with Pearl over the phone she asked if I had my receipt (which i didn't have on hand) she told me to call back when I had my receipt. Why couldn't she just refund my money to my credit card right then and there is beyond me! I have actually never written a review before but I was so upset by the treatment from this store that I wanted to make sure other brides knew in advance. We went to this bridal store to search for bridesmaids dresses and found one that all my bridesmaids loved. Quite a surprise as they all have different tastes. When we asked if we could order it we were told it was discontinued. We were disappointed to hear that news and wondered why they would have it on the rack. Then Pearl, the sales consultant, told us that they could make the same dress for us but less expensive and showed us a sample of their 'copy'. We didn't order the dresses because the copy was not well made and was clearly not a great copy of the dress. The very next store we went to we described our dress that we loved and asked if they had anything like it. Imagine our surprise when they showed us the same dress and told us that it was not discontinued. I was shocked. This business owner would go to such lengths at the expense of my wedding happiness. She clearly has a better markup when they make the dresses themselves then when they order them from the designers. Therefore, I recommend Tiffany Bridal on East Hastings they were amazing and were magically able to order our 'discontinued' dress. Whereas, I would use extreme caution in ordering anything from Bello Wedding World as it appears that they are more interested in their own financial interests than their customers needs. read more

I bought my wedding dress and a evening dress from Bello. I like their selection but service is okay. The wedding dress i got sells at The Bridal Gallery and Bridal Gallery was few hundred dollars more expensive then Bello. If you ask for discounts the salesperson will call and ask their owner Pearl. I went back for my wedding dress fittings. The day i was supposed to pick up my dress they didnt tighten the beading or resew some that had fallen so i had to make another trip just to pick up my dress 2 days later so that was annoying. I didnt buy my veil there and they steamed my veil and dress at pickup and the owner Pearl made a comment that they dont steam items if not bought there but they will do it this time. Which gave me a bad taste to my mouth. The sales person that always there never remembers my name when i went back 4-5 times this entire process. Service isnt that great. Mary is the alteration lady - shes ALWAYS late. At least 15-30 mins. Every appointment i had i had to wait for her because shes late for my fittings. Dont make your appointments at 4pm when she starts. I paid over $450 for alteration for my wedding gown to shorten length and add in cups and to shorten length for my evening dress. To dryclean your wedding dress there is $150 + tax and Pearl gave me 10% off because i bought my dress there so it came to $151 including tax. read more
