Bello is a dishonest business
My initial of experience with Bello was fine. When I first went to Bello, I dropped by without an appointment because I happened to be in the neighbourhood. As luck would have it, I found what I believed to be my dress and it fit well with only minor alterations required. In addition, the dress was a sample, so it was discounted. Several days after, I dropped in again, tried it on and decided to take it. However, after I paid they did not let me take it home but volunteer to fix the beads!(the beads they added later just make the dress looks cheap, for those beads don't match the gown). Till now, I feel there is something fishy at this point.
After they contacted me that the work was done, I went to the store to pick up the dress. To my surprise, I noticed the bottom of the dress was much dirtier than I had remembered, and the beading was hardly done. They claimed the dress was already this condition, and that I should have inspected it more carefully. It seems they were blaming the customer for being stupid. If the dress was in that condition in the first place, I would not have purchased it and definitely not wear it for my wedding even if the dress was free. Perhaps because the dress was already paid for and they were offering to do free bead work, they did not treat the dress carefully. My advice to potential customers is DO NOT let them do any work, especially if you have already paid. To add insult to the injury, they tried to sell me dry cleaning service, and they even said that I could simply cut the bottom part of the dress off (even though the bottom has embroidery).
Later, I called them on the phone to ask when the dress would be ready, they gave me a date. When I went to the store on that date, they told me that the dress was not ready. A couple of days later, I became worried that they would make the dress even dirtier, so I told them that I would come pick up the dress in a couple of days whether or not the beading was complete. When I arrived, to my surprise the beading was complete.
I then took the dress to Busy Bee Gold for a cleaning consultation. The owner told me that the beads and sparkles on the dress will likely come off during any kind of cleaning, so it would not be the same dress that I had fallen in love with. I was not informed by Bello about the beads, sparkles falling off when Bello offered the dry cleaning service or before I purchased the dress. Busy Bee Gold also said the dress was likely used because the bra was already sewn into the dress, which Bello had told me was normal for this particular dress. The impression I received from my consultation was that he felt sorry for my situation. He thought that I had already had my wedding. They were surprised it was so dirty. When they found out the truth, I could sense they were trying to avoid hurting my feelings.
I returned to Bello one last time to ask for a refund because of the negative feelings associated with my experience. A business with a heart that cares about customer satisfaction would understand my feelings. Not surprisingly, they refused. I required to talk to the owner, they just give me an email address and said the owner's name is Bill. I did not even bother to write any email to this "Bill".
Edit:
This sample gown is very likely a rental dress. I learned about it from Busy Bee Gold and our wedding planner. Bello is a dishonest business!!! They have a wedding rental package which uses their "sample" dresses. read more
