There has been a change in the way they offer quotes and conduct business so I did not know what to expect. I was very happy with the the outcome. The work was very professionally done. Everything looked neat and tidy when John was finished his work, although there was a change in the final look because he was unable to get the cedar lattice requested and he had to substitute it with vinyl lattice. Nonetheless, I am very happy with the outcome. John, the carpenter, was prompt and on time for both his appointment to do the estimate as well as to do the work. That was a refreshing change from most other times when I have hired a contractor to do work for me. My interactions with both John and the young fellow (?Neal) who came to pick up the deposit cheque were very pleasant. Both of them smiled and greeted me courteously on arrival and John was very communicative in his description of what was being done, so there were no surprises. Would I hire them again? Yes, for many things I would. I am not sure about value as it has been a few years since I had other work done by carpenters or contractors. Prices have changed and the cost of doing business has definitely increased. Another reviewer mentioned something about a fee to adjust a quote... I guess one needs to know exactly what they want before requesting the quote and they need to express very clearly what that is. It really is not a scam to request a fee for a second quote because the person doing the quote is actually using their time that would otherwise have been spent on a gainfully paid task for someone else.

I had diagnosed the problem myself being a seized blower motor. Tech came out, confirmed what I had…read moresaid. The tech looked around for a new motor, cheapest one he could find was $1500(not including install). I told him I'd find my own, which I did. I found one for $380 and just installed it myself. Now the motor won't shut off so I'm worried it could be the thermostat or limit switch (which the tech never bothered to look at). The thing is, I was charged $187 when the tech literally didn't check anything else but a visual inspection of the blower motor, not the heat exchanger, not the limit switch, nothing. So I paid all that money for him to come to my house and tell me something I already knew. Thanks for nothing guys.

So almost $600 later and signing off in 3-4 different places they knew what they were doing. They had me and they knew it. I could almost see the tech smiling behind the mask. Knowing that a new funace goes for about $1100 I payed for 1/2 of a new one for a bent hose. In this time of covid that's some real heartless stuff.
