If you're even slightly considering on going dog sledding, just do it!…read more Dog sledding was something thats been on my bucket list so for our trip to Quebec, we decided to look up several spots. Alaskan Adventure seemed promising and is located near Mont Tremblant which was about 1.5 hours from Montreal. They offer two packages, one that includes transportation and one without. The transportation option is an additional fee that provides pick up and drop off to the Mont Tremblant resort area but I'm not exactly sure how that works since we drove there ourselves. The team at Alaskan Adventure were extremely welcoming, fun, and professional. You can tell that they are truly passionate and love what they do. The pack consists of 60+ dogs that are all well cared for. The dogs looked very healthy and happy, are well trained, super friendly, and ready to run. Your adventure starts with an introduction on how to drive the sled, then you'll help harness the dogs and off you go for the one hour ride. Halfway through, you'll get a break for the dogs to rest and for you to enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies inside a little cabin. You are able to play with the dogs and take plenty of pictures during this time as well. This is your chance to switch drivers! When you arrive back to the kennel, you get to reward the dogs with some treats and are able to meet the rest of the pack. If you're lucky, they might even have some pups for you to play with! We got to meet 5 month old Eclipse and Misty this season. You get to stick around the kennel for as long as you'd like and then head back to the main lodge where warm soup is served. During this time, you get to see all the pictures and videos their photographer took during your adventure. Here are some things to know: 1. If you book the 3:30pm slot, the dogs would already be harnessed and ready to go to ensure that you'll have enough time for the entire activity before sunset. We didn't know this prior to booking but that was okay with us and appreciated that Sonia quickly reached out via email to let us know. She was also very responsive to any additional questions we had. 2. You have the opportunity to purchase the photos/videos taken during your adventure for CA$50, which I think you should because they take lots of nice pictures of you to keep for memories. Their photographer was on standby alongside different parts of the trail to capture your best moments. 3. Bring cash so you can tip your guides as well because they certainly deserve it! I'm not sure if they mention that but there's a tip box at the front check in desk where you can drop it in. 4. Lastly, be sure to dress warmly and bring out the snow pants, boots, and gloves. We were prepared but was told that they do have some spares if we needed it. We had an amazing time at Alaskan Adventure and have so many great things to say about our experience. The entire process from booking to sledding was a breeze. Sonia, Max, and the entire team (dogs included) were wonderful and I would HIGHLY recommend booking this excursion with them. It's the perfect winter activity thats fit for all ages and skill levels.

The trip up the mountain and through the forestry to get to the meet-up location was a bit rough as it was our first time in the snow so give yourself plenty of time to make the drive and arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled reservation. My husband was unprepared for the weather, and Marjorie made sure to find him some good pants & boots to use during our adventure. Once we were ready to go, we met up with the rest of our group at the kennels. The dogs were super excited to see us and couldn't wait to get to their sleds. Once we arrived we were able to help run our dogs to our sleds and set them up in their harnesses. Each team was chosen specifically with the riders in mind. After a lesson on how to drive our sleds, we were off! The entire sled trip was an hour long, but it is split into two 30 minute runs to give you a chance to warm up and switch passengers/drivers if you'd like. The dogs seemed most happy while pulling their sleds. It really is an incredible thing to see working dogs doing what they were bred to do. It was obvious that the dogs were loved, happy, and well cared for. The owners, Max & Sonia, and the guides, Irkaël, Marjorie, & Nicolas knew each of their dogs very well (there were lots of them!) and who each dog did and didn't get along with, what they liked to do, etc. Overall this was an absolutely unforgettable, once in a life time experience. Thank you so so much to Max & Sonia for their dedication to the dog world and this beautiful sport of dog sledding. We loved every second of our time spent with the staff (and dogs!) at Expedition Wolf. Besides getting to play in the snow with dogs for a couples hours, the staff is so wonderful, knowledgeable, patient, and friendly.. and that makes all the difference! My husband is not easily impressed, but I could not (and still cant!) get him to stop raving about how much fun he had doing this. It's about a 20-30 min drive from the hotels around the Pedestrian Village (we stayed at the Fairmont), but fear not by fellow yelpers, they will pick you up at your hotel and drive you round trip, complimentary! Taking a camera is a MUST, however they have a photographer who snaps lots of photos and takes some video as well, and before you leave will put together a DVD for you to purchase so you can have all of the pictures videos taken of you.. they literally take the time to separate each individual or couple and sort through the pictures, so that your disc has pictures of you, and not total strangers on it. So nice! They also offer you some yummy snacks afterwards to hold you over until you return to your hotel- things like hot soup, cookies, lemonade, etc. One thing I will suggest is that you use the bathroom before you leave your hotel, because while they do offer one, they only offer ONE. The entire process is so memorable. You are able to help harness up the dogs, and while this part can be a little hard (not recommended for the little ones), it's cool to learn the dogs' names, ages, backgrounds, and help out! The dogs are SUPER excited when you start.. I mean, it's like 250 kids on Christmas morning all opening presents at the same time, kind of excited.. it's so cool! They obviously love what they do! Basically, I could go on and on and on and on about this, because there arent enough good things to say, so I'll just leave you with this- PLEASE, if you find yourself in Mont-tremblant, do this! You will not regret it, I assure you!

My kids, my nephews, and my brothers in laws went and it was a great experience. Yes I was scared but it was so cool when I was going down but I enjoyed the gorgeous view of this beautiful place in Canada I paid $36 for the three of us and it was a nice price for kids it's less and they can go with you in the same cart.

The luge only happens from noon-2pm, so plan accordingly. It was SO fun. You first select your helmet. Then you take the specific gondola up to the start of the track. You basically get a 2 second tutorial on how to brake, then off you go! The first minute, there are some stops and turns before they let you start on the real track. It's really cool because you're pretty high up so you get a view to your left. Then you wind through some forests on the side. I think I was surprised by how fast you can go, but also how well the plastic vehicles handle. Just be careful. I got a douchebag who veered past me just as we were about to enter a slow zone with road blocks. He almost collided with me. I stopped to let him through. In any case, the course takes about 5 minutes, but it's actually surprisingly satisfying because of the many turns. You pay $12 I think for the first run, but you can do it many times for a discounted price. Honestly, it's kind of scary, and I'm not sure I would let a 10 year old on this thing.

I had a fantastic time every day I came here, it wasn't busy as its end of summer so right up my alley. On the side of the beach there's more privacy and less people that's where we hung out for the days we were there. The beach is rocky but not all parts it's not bad enough that you need water shoes so don't worry. For kids at 4 pm there's story time which seems to be a big hit! Friendly staff at the booth I had a young man named William who rented us a 2 person kayak which I've never been in before I loved it ! The lake is so pure so fresh and just really relaxing.

$2,500 Snowmobile Tour…read more My son and I did a snowmobile tour with Tyroparc and some friends in January, 2023. We have riden snowmobiles before so I was looking forward to it. The first half hour or so was fine. When we got to a short but steep hill our instructor stopped the tour and told us to go over the hill slowly and not use the brakes on the way down the hill as it can throw the passenger (in this case, my teenage son) off the snowmobile. This was not the first time I've ever driven a snowmobile, so I wasn't expecting any issues. When we went over the hill, we found ourselves headed towards a group of small trees. I tried to turn the snowmobile away from the tree while at the same time not using the brake. I wasn't able to negotiate the turn and we crashed directly into the tree. My son and I were both thrown off the snowmobile. My son was okay, thank goodness, but the impact to the tree left me dazed. I sustained a minor concussion and a strained wrist, as I had put my arm up to block my son from the tree. The snowmobile was totaled, as you can see from the photos. When the guide started up the snowmobile, there was a loud explosion in the engine. Despite my dazed mental state, I was told to drive this dangerous vehicle with my son on the back for several minutes. The instructor said he asked me if I was OK to drive it and apparently I said yes, but I was in no condition to make such a decision. It could have caught fire or who knows what else. When I got back to my hotel, and told my wife what had happened, she asked how we got the snowmobile back to the headquarters, and I couldn't remember. To literally add insult to injury, I had to pay $2,500 for the damage because I signed a waiver saying that I am responsible for all damages incurred. While I do accept some responsibility, my son and I were treated in a very reckless manner by the instructor. He was a nice guy but it was very alarming to my friends and son that I was in no condition to be driving immediately after a heavy impact of a snowmobile into a tree, which threw my son and I off the vehicle. I spoke with several managers from Tyroparc in the weeks after to see if we could come to some sort of compromise about the $2,500 owed, but it had already been billed to my credit card and as far as they were concerned, I was in another country hundreds of miles away, and it was case closed. I understand that most people don't crash into a tree and you probably won't either. But it's also important to know that Tyroparc's instruction before the crash and the assistance after the crash were both in my experience, negligent at best and dangerous at worst. Happy holidays!
