I also asked if I could get screens from them. I was told they needed to take the balance bar and the screen and would return it within a week. it's been almost two weeks and I called to find out what happened this time. I was told the balance bars would cost twice as much as I had been quoted and if I want my property back I could come pick it up or wait until they come to my area. I called numerous companies to find out about balance bars, Everyone was less expensive for the glass repair and the balance bars. I suggest checking other companies first try to find someone honest.

Avoid Hurricane Glass & Mirror if you have a broken window…read more Hopefully, this review will help someone avoid the mistake that I made by dealing with this inefficient company. I have been living with this mess for 13 days and finally called it quits. On Saturday, Sept. 10, about 5:30 in the evening, a large (about 5' x 7') tempered glass window in my greatroom exploded. I have no idea what caused it and didn't see any dead bird on the ground. This is the first broken window that I have had in this house and I was in panic to get it boarded up before dark and busy trying to keep my dogs away from the glass that was on the floor. Hurricane Glass was the first one to come up when I checked to see who did off-hour board up jobs. One person came out just before dark and tacked up a couple of boards for $785. The glass was not cleaned out of the edges of the window nor was it cleaned out of the yard. I cleaned it indoors but with broken glass still in the frame, pieces would pop out now and then so I had to keep the dogs out of the area. The new glass was supposed to take a couple of days to order but with this company there was one excuse after another: they forgot to place the order, then the tempering machine was broken, then the glass didn't arrive as expected. I had 6 different dates crossed off my calendar when I was told to expect the installation and it didn't happen. Finally, today Sept. 23rd, two guys showed up with the new glass. Unfortunately it didn't fit. First they blamed the supplier and then blamed the guy who did the measuring. I told them not to reorder since I had waited 13 days for this company and that was enough. I asked them to please clean up the glass before putting the boards back up. They said they would but did not. Hurricane Glass has to be one of the worst customer service companies that I have ever dealt with. They are inefficient and, in this case with the wrong size glass, just incompetent. I recommend avoiding doing business with them.

The other company left us with a problem where the water leaked during/after a shower. Despite repeated attempts never got the issue corrected. I called Johnson Glass expecting them to need to replace the whole door. Instead they were able to correct the leaking doors and they work perfectly now with no more water running outside the shower!! Everyone I spoke to during this process was friendly and helpful. The cost for the repair was reasonable. Will use again if needed and will be recommending them.
