This is a convenient liquor store, you wouldn't know it existed if you don't happen to live near sun valley-nohosurrounding area; it's kinda tucked in between Roscoe and laurel canyon, next to michoacana. They have reserved parking spots for liquor customers only. But it was not packed when we visited this past Friday evening. The staff was nice and I bought a cool little grey goose shotty; bottle changed to aluminum rather than glass. They also have liquor stored in the refrigerator so in case you want yours nice and cold, it's ready! Definitely recommend this liquor store for your last minute stops. read more

Belwood Liquors has a "family" feel for a liquor store. Samuel and his brother Samir run a well-stocked store, and it's great that they know many of their customers by name, greeting them with a handshake. They seem to have a lot of "regulars," which is a testament to their customer service. Good selection of alcohol, sodas, and snacks. Convenient place to pick up those lotto tickets or even hang out and play the lotto Hot Spot game. read more

Just went to BevMo in Simi Valley for the first and last time. Big 1.75L Crown Royal is $5 more than Vons and Albertsons. Apple Pucker was $16!!!!! It is $8 at Albertsons. I told the manager but they don't seem to care. He mentioned they have a price matching policy but I don't shop at overpriced places. I bought my Apple Pucker for $8 at Albertsons on Madera. A long-time local Simi staple, probably been here longer than I've been alive. It's still in the same strip mall that's undergone many renovations and changes over the years. Basically just a liquor store that offers the usual beer, liquor, wine, soda, snacks, smokes, lotto tickets and whatnot. A good place to hang (they have a couple chairs) and watch sports on the t.v. or chew the fat with the friendly owner. The prices are moderate, probably cheaper than 7-11, and they have a good variety of alcohol for being a small store. Parkings not so great, especially when Yankee Doodles next door is busy, spaces can be hard to come by. Otherwise, if you live in the Texas tract, it's more than likely you've been here at least once. read more

I've visited Belwood on several occasions... They have a large selection of alcohol, however I found the prices to be high (which is expected at a small store), so I usually make the 1 block trip to Pavilion's. The customer service is always friendly and welcoming, and probably the only thing that brings me back to this place. I usually only come here for the lotto anymore, which is always efficient and I've had pretty good luck with scratchers. NOTE: On big lotto days come prepared to wait in a line. read more

CROOKS! Plain and simple. Was advised I was buying a bottle of bourbon worth $80, less than an hour later I was asvised it was a $40 bottle. I brought this to the attention of Sam and his brother and they simply told me to go to another liquor store get a receipt showing it was actually $40 and they would reimburse me or give me another bottle free of charge. I showed them on the Internet over 15 different bottles from different locations at the price I knew of $40 they did not believe me as if I was showing them something false on the internet they knew they made a mistake they just could not fess up to it. I immediately went and did such upon my return Sam had already left conveniently for the day I was advised at 4 p.m. to go over to his other location and he would take care of me I arrived at his other location at 4 p.m. as I was told by his brother and then told by Sam that the receipt I presented as well as the price tag on the bottle was not good enough evidence as he proceeded to laugh at me and my girlfriend in front of other customers. This is a man who knew he made a mistake but could not fess up to it a very dishonest man, a man who we do not need running a business in our community. I advise any and everybody to stay away from Belwood liquor they are nothing but Crooks and obviously care nothing about the citizens or the community in which they operate their business. Shame on you Belwood liquor for being such a terrible place and having such poor business practices. I did everything that Sam and his brother requested ran all over Simi Valley presented all the receipts and still no result they were just playing games the whole time. Again stay away from Belwood liquor they are Crooks. I have already filed a complaint with the city for poor business practices against their location I hope to see some results. read more

I love this store! Its the most friendly convenience store around. The owners (three brothers) run the place and they are the most personable guys, and now friends. They always greet you by name, always there to help and I never feel intimidated, bothered or uncomfortable like at most liquor stores. They take EBT. They re prices are truly the lowest amongst the neighboring liquor stores and they re always running specials. FYI, the coffee is really good. Sam makes a good cup o Joe in the morning. @Christina, how can u say Belwood prices are too high? Ive purchased wine, beer, smokes, refreshments, coffee, n I gotta say Belwood is a good .50 cheaper at least then they're neighboring stores. Of course Von's is going to be a Lil cheaper, you can't walk in n out in 1 min or less. Hence the name, convenience store. What's this about the owner being loud n rude? Ok...... This place is great. Several times I've found myself short on funds for what I want to purchase and its never an issue, Sam the owner says "just pay me next time you come in". Where do you get that now a days? You also get a real sense that these guys really care about their community and take pride in being "our" liquor store. I've never had a bad experience and from what I've seen most of the people who go there haven't either. read more
