I ordered 24 cupcakes and a half-sheet Hello Kitty cake for my daughter's birthday, and it honestly turned out more beautiful than I ever imagined. Rebeca did an AMAZING job!! The details were perfect, the colors were exactly right, and the cake was just so special. My daughter was OBSESSED and so were all of our guests. Selling food in the deli that is due to expire in two days- refusing to sell fresh meat because you have old meat open. A ridiculous policy that's gonna get somebody sick. Up to me I stay completely away from the deli at Stater Brothers.. Manager I went to the store manager and the line manager, and every other manager I can find in the same answer deli Manager rules the deli. My favorite local supermarket rolls on. Speaking of rolls - I don't understand why they moved the packaged bread and rolls from the far left side of the store near the service bakery to the far right side close to the produce department. Still get tripped up by that one occasionally. Overall though, I like the layout of the store, and appreciate the options for some good deals on a weekly basis. That, and I can find enough of my special needs foods to keep me going. By that I mean non-dairy options for plant based milks and cheeses / cheese spreads. One of the cream cheese with chives brands is extremely close to the cows milk version, for example. I do wish they had more fancy specialty plant based cheese varieties, but maybe one day. They carry almost every kind of plant based milk in the dairy cases, and delicious coffee creamers. With warm weather coming on, I'm looking forward to some icy treats from the freezer section. Produce is of good quality and generally fairly priced. They feature organic options when you don't have time to hit the farmer's market. I usually don't go for the self checkout option - I'd rather interact with one of their friendly cashiers and keep their jobs going. The last time I was in the store, the two young men working the butcher counter were very knowledgeable and full of personality, too. Though it's a good-sized store, the vibe feels neighborly. My husband sometimes picks up sandwiches from the deli counter and brings them home. They're always made with generous ingredients and fresh, delicious bread. Glad to have them in town! read more

Even the prices seem to be in line with the other stores. I'm a Costco die hard but I need a local grocery for everyday things. I moved from Simi Valley to Riverside some years ago. I'm a regular Stater Bros. Shopper. I love their prices and quality. The stores are very organized which makes it easy to find everything I need. I appreciate the staff they're always so courteous and helpful. So the other day I went to visit my son and Simi Valley. I visited the SB's on Los Angeles to pick up a few items for him since he had just come home from the hospital. I popped into the self checkout line and I guess due to my nerves I was having trouble scanning a couple items. This lovely lady came over to help me. Her name was Monique. I explained my frustrations to her and the reason. She was so compassionate. She patiently helped me. She was so warm and courteous. I just wanted to take the time to mention her. I was on the run doing errands and somehow I was craving for sushi. One of my errands was going to get some groceries and Stater Brothers delivers. The staff are friendly and the store is clean. Fujisan Sushi review: For a quick pickup sushi craving, this is up there with Sushi bar restaurants. I'm blown with the freshness. The lady who prepares these beautifully crafted sushi was very meticulous. Even thanked me for grabbing the Nigiri Combo/Tempura roll and the plain California roll. The rice was soft and fresh. Came for flap meat and a new york steak. Steaks they had out were very thin so asked the butcher if he could cut me a thicker cut which they have always done for me. Butcher said he couldn't. No argument or serious problem but does show laziness in employees. I've never been declined when asking for a certain cut. read more

I just want to say that I love my local Stater Bros here in Simi Valley! It's clean, and I always find what I'm looking for. My kids and I love to see Monique and Missy! They are so sweet and funny! We also adore April. They are all so amazing. We love them so much. Always so helpful and kind. I do have to say, there is an older woman employee with long, gray hair and a very bad attitude lol. She definitely needs to smile more. Other than that very unpleasant woman, we love the store! I wanted to congratulate Monique on her fundraising as well, we noticed the numbers on our way out. The meat and produce departments are fantastic- reasonably priced and fresh. They also have the best market fried chicken in Simi Valley. The only reason I don't give them five stars is their location on Stater Brothers logistics chain. Simi Valley is the Farthest SB store from their distribution center, meaning they occasionally run out of certain items (recently whole chickens and Yakult). This is one of my favorite stores to shop at. Since we live in the great crater that is the San Fernando Valley it's not alway convenient to shop here. We try and hit it up while passing through on our way home from many Ventura County trips. Why do I like it? They have very good produce. The isles are wide for getting around. Everything is well stocked. The folks that work here are super friendly and not in a fake way. Meat! Meat! Meat! The meat department is awesome. They put great cuts of meat on sale all the time. Things I have bought here you can't find anywhere else- 2" Thick cut 24 oz Porterhouse Steaks for $5.99 a pound Brisket Point cut for slow BBQ Bone in Chicken Breast and Thighs for 0.99 a pound Giant 7 lbs. Roaster Chicken for $1.05 a pound Corned Beef for $1.99 a pound. That's dinner tonight! They have real butchers here. I had them cut me a 10 lb, rib roast for Christmas last year.
