Boy what a menu!!!!!! Not easy to choose. One notch over most breakfast à la mode joints. Fair prices and large servings. Try them!

Good for a buffet, when you compare it to others; but don't expect greatness. Buffet des Continents…read moreis ideal for families or groups who wishes to have a access to large quantity of food for a budget price. The food itself is not fantastic and the large amount of seats and customers makes the place loud and hard to navigate. However, it does what it promises, tons of different cuisine under a same room for a small price. The food is often soggy, salty and sometimes overcooked, the drinks are nothing to rave about and the dessert station is often a mess. You get what you pay for. Compared to other restaurant of the same type, Buffet des continents is somewhat at the top, with a large number of staff, multiple counters where they serve pasta, pizza, sushi and breakfast food, lots of activities for children (face paint) and special events (ex. Mexican fiesta = nacho table). Perfect for kids and people not too picky about food and just want eat a lot. Otherwise pick another restaurant.

This chain is pretty popular with the masses and when I was invited to an event on a Saturday night…read moreI wasn't surprised to see this place was rocking with hundreds of people WAITING to get seats. I haven't been to this chain in nearly a decade and my visit was to the one in Trois-Rivieres... so I kind-of knew what to expect but this place was PURE MADNESS. But over what??? I REALLY don't get it. The food is buffet style. The name fits. If you've been to something like "Le Mandarin" or "Fu Lam" you've already been here. There's a bigger selection of course but more things I wouldn't touch. Buffet style sushi? No thanks. Under-cooked roast beef? Not going to play the gastro lotto tonight. Canteen-style poutine? Is this really a thing? Am I some kind of savage? I ended up trying about 20 plates.... mostly taking a bite here and there after a decent-sized first plate. Most of the things I tried came well short of my expectation. Many plates were bland and were clearly prepped in huge batches to slop out to the massages elbowing each other for the scraps. Some sweet dishes weren't sweet but salty? Salty is a key thing. I was parched after I left. The experience, at least for me was one I don't plan to repeat any time soon. The pricing was $23 per person to which I feel is robbery. A few dollars more and I could have eaten at a number of other AYCE restos with considerably better food and without the busy hustling and bustling. The service? Overwhelmed and after quickly inquiring if I'd be ordering any extras (soda/beer) to which I said no became quite disinterested in our table. I had to remind her the 3rd time she passed by to refill our glasses. She was FAR more focused on letting us know, every 15 minutes like clock-work (with no water pitcher in hand), we had to leave by 7 PM. Not her fault of course but this place runs their clients on the clock and more clients sitting down and paying is more important than delivering a proper eating experience. Don't blame them. There were well over 100 people waiting for a table when I left. What is going on....... Hard pass going forward for me for this chain.

We were looking for a small charming place to stop by and eat on our way north to a day retreat…read more.. what we got was an different experience altogether. Le P'tit Coco is a medium sized breakfast place tucked in one of the many small outside malls in Mascouche. The place is spacious and roomy. We opted for a booth and it seemed fine until some really annoying loud overexcited patrons sat in the booth next to us and I realized it bounced and tilted due due to the poor quality of the booth seats as the patrons on the other side couldn't manage to sit still. The place was pretty busy with about 40 tables with half of them full.... with only 1 waitress to serve us all. So let me tell you what you'd expect from this... really lousy service but I'm unsure if it's due to her work or simply working twice as many tables as she should have. We got 1 refill of our coffee maybe after 45 minutes we were there and well after we eventually got our meals. You'd think when you serve us our meals we'd be topped off. Common sense. Right? That quick breakfast that we hoped ultimately went easily went over an hour for a very mediocre experience. At some point, I got fed up and got up to pay at the counter and rudely gestured if I can get out of this place. I do have other things to do after all. The meals themselves? Pretty average. I went with the Bagel BLT and while it was decent enough, it broke apart way too easily. The side potatoes and fruits were good, not great. The price-tag was decent. All in all, nothing special to see here, nothing to impress nor please to have me come back... one last suggestion? Please hire more staff before people permanently lose interest in this place.
