Teachers are typically very quick to respond to emails as well which is appreciated. School runs VPK through 5th grade. Located within the Calusa Trace neighborhood. Like with any school we have our complaints about minor things such as better communication. There have been improvements since we started going here. I've served on the PTA and the Board for a few years and cherish those times. The school doesn't do candy or gift wrap fundraisers like many others in the area, they are more focused on fitness and hold a yearly fun run to raise money for the school. This is difficult given it's hard to ask for money when people aren't getting anything tangible. But the school tends to do quite well. The carline runs smooth and fast for drop off and pickup. The back parent parking lot is very crappy -- it's Hillsborough County owned so understand the school has no control but they should look at asking the county to pave it. It's dirt and not even. When it rains the parking lot gets flooded. Not good for people to be walking through. If you're looking for a good elementary school for your child I do recommend Schwarzkopf.

When we purchased our new home, we moved school districts. Of course we were a bit nervous but in no time at all we felt right at home. The faculty is out of this world. They genuinely care about their students. When we drop our boys off each morning, everyone is smiling and taking the time to safely get the kids out of the car. My son's 2nd grade teacher is so kind, patient and full of life. The Extended Day VPK program is amazing and very affordable. Just make sure you get on the waiting list ASAP - it fills up fast! My son in VPK has also been doing speech therapy at Schwarzkopf. I've been moved to tears at the progress he's made in 6 short months. Seriously, the faculty here is straight out of a fairytale. I also love that the school is tucked back in Calusa Trace. It's away from all the busy roads and feels very safe. This is a uniform school but nothing too strict. Collared shirts and khakis or jeans. If it's cold, they can wear any jacket and they often host non uniform days for $1. They also do other fun things to keep the kids happy and engaged like spirit days, dress up like a 100 year old for the 100th day of school, PJ day. We are so happy to be a part of the Schwarzkopf family. I firmly believe God spent a little extra time on this school and the amazing people that fill the walls within it.

This is an "A" school in the Westchase neighborhood and I'm told when it first opened many parents…read moreoutside of this school zone in the Westchase area fought to get their kids into Deer Park. My children have also gone to another "A" school in Westchase and this one might be slightly better, but not by much. All the schools in this area are great schools. AR (Accelerated Reading) testing is encouraged at this school, so my kids do a lot of reading and visits to the library. The AGP program is swift and challenging so your gifted children will thrive here, although science isn't included only math. The last school my children attended included math and science. There are good extracurricular activities available. My children participated in Running Club which is a favorite. There's also chess club and all types of music programs. The music program is fantastic. Mr. Washburn keeps in touch with the parents of children in chorus or any other music program and pushes the children to show artistic creativity in their performances. The vice principal is wonderful and takes time to explain anything a parent has questions about.

This is an elementary school grades K-5…read more My 3 boys have gone here and it's an A rated school. The staff here is excellent and very friendly. Most of the teachers are great and my kids really enjoyed going here. The grounds are kept up pretty good and clean. The drop off and especially the pick up lines are still in need of a better system as it takes almost 45 minutes to pick up each child so you have to prepare for all that. The administration staff seem to have it together as this school again is an A rated school and the leaders of the school have a big part in keeping it that was every single year. School is in Westchase and in a great area for a school. Makes me feel that my child is safe as they have certain policies and systems in place.
