I was given Benetrends number by a company I am hoping to build a business with. It started over a month ago. I called and left a message for a woman and nothing. A week went by and Adam reached out, I called him back with no reply for over a week. I called again still nothing. Two weeks go by and a call to the company I was talking to, they suggested I email and CC them. Then and only then did I get a reply. I was made to set up an appointment to speak to them. I had a car issue and was unable to take the call. I emailed Adam but he still texted asking if I was going to jump on the call. I moved on and was told to reschedule. I made another appointment, allowing an hour to what I thought would be a constructive call. 4.5 mins later and achieving nothing but, "we will send you the forms" I hung up. The next day Sara sent me the paper work, I completed it and sent back. They wanted background info and tax returns, with no agreement in place. I called Sara a few hours later, she gave me nothing but attitude. I asked her for exactly what she needs to be placed in writing in an email. She refused. I asked to speak to her supervisor she stated she would have her supervisor call me back and hung up. After this kind of treatment, I was not interested in pursuing the loan with this company. If you are looking for a company to get a loan, this is not the one. They are a disgrace, they treat you like you are a second rate citizen and a thorn in their side. Find someone else! read more

Benetrends proved to be a complete waste of time and money. Their team is inexperienced, consistently ignores clients, and causes unnecessary delays. When you finally reach someone, they pause to consult others just to provide a basic response. They charge premium fees yet deliver zero value. It took them just 2 days to collect my payment to secure an SBA plan, promising a 3-month turnaround "at most." March turned into April, then they claimed May 1st--wrong again. The process dragged until July 7th, nearly 2 months after my business opened. I was forced to charge expenses to my credit card to stay on track, and beware: the SBA bank won't reimburse anything incurred before SBA closing. To make matters worse, they funnel all SBA loans to Huntington Bank--another amateur operation plagued by high rep turnover and automated systems designed to dodge real engagement. Horrible experience overall. Avoid Benetrends at all costs. read more

STAY FAR, FAR AWAY! As long as everything is going good, they are great. But when things go bad, they are terrible. Our business was cut off at the knees during the government-enforced lockdowns and atmosphere of fear the following years. We had to shut down and go bankrupt, and instead of working with us, putting our account on hold, anything - they were just extremely inflexible. Here is a direct quote from one of the founders when I told him our situation. Just a lot of arrogance, yelling, and smugness, but no help: "In regards to the reminders of consequences.... this is not my first rodeo As an award winning entrepreneur and expert. I am the FIRST to dislike the government and it's overreach and strictness... I am TRYING TO BE HELPFUL and protect you. You seem not to appreciate it. So do what you wish I tried to help. Engaged with Benetrends for both a ROBS and a SBA. On both fronts I had to drag them through the process, constantly following up to get the process moving. Communication and process flow needs to improve. They simply send you all the information you have to complete and provide very little assistance for the fees you are paying. Easy to get in. Impossible to get out. Every year I have to send numerous email reminding them of the Tax Documents they did not send to my employees. Awful company, engages in deceptive business practices. They made it easy to sign up, but when it came to exiting they created unnecessary delays and refused to perform services they had already been paid for. Would strongly recommend against ever using them. When I indicated that I wanted to terminate my plan, Benetrends gave me misinformation about their process, causing a delay of several months, during which time they continued to bill for their monthly services. When it became clear they would not complete the termination process in a timely manner even when I was finally correctly advised about their internal practices, I was forced to consult with an outside attorney. The attorney was able to complete within hours the same work Benetrends indicated it would take months for them to do. When Benetrends learned I was consulting with an outside attorney, they sent threatening communications advising against this, stating that they would cut off all contact with me (despite my pointing out that they were obligated to provide information and documents related to my plan), and then refused to file our annual 5500 form, which had been paid for through our monthly fees. We were forced not only to pay Benetrends for work they never completed, but to also pay third parties to actually complete the work they refused to do. I believe Benetrends purposefully engages in these practices to continue extracting monthly fees from clients who have indicated they want to terminate and discourage clients from consulting with third parties so that they will be forced to pay Benetrends' exorbitant fees. I STRONGLY advise against using Benetrends for ROBS business funding. I would suggest contacting their competitors, who hopefully engage in ethical business practices. read more

Benetrends is really good at getting you into the plan. They were very helpful and I feel the fees were fair. The reason for me giving such a low rating is for the exit plan. My business closed and I'm having a hard time getting out. They want you to pay to get out and after you pay they only give a short amount of time to get all your paperwork in. I of coarse didn't get it done and felt like I wasn't getting the help I needed, nothing like when I was signing up. So hopefully you can stay in business and not have this problem. read more

I am very frustrated with Benetrends Financial. Mainly due to the ongoing monthly fee of $130/ month that the sales person neglected to mention when I signed up. Maybe it's in the fine print somewhere of some document that I signed, but this is a drain on my small business. I've mentioned it to my representative, but she just replies with a list of the services they provide for this fee, which amounts to preparing some documentation once a year to ensure your IRS compliance. I don't mind paying a fee for some of these services, but I feel duped regarding the monthly fee and there seems to be no way out. If you feel like $1500 a month in perpetuity is worth their services then go for it. If they every decide to actually help small business by providing fair, honest and upfront pricing I'll come back and change my review. read more

I've been using Benetrends for 9 years. They take care of all the paperwork for my corporation. They are always there to help me though the paperwork each year. I want to run my business, not worry about the corporate paperwork. When you roll over a 401K to a business venture you need a company to manage the profit sharing portion. I utilized Benetrends to finance my business with my 401K. They helped me get started and I paid the 5K fee to start and continued to pay the $120 per month and then canceled. They continue to send me $120 per month fees for doing nothing as I have received all my funding and there is nothing left for them to do. I was pleased to get the help up front but I did not sign up for a lifetime monthly bill. Be very careful as they are proving to be in ethical in the end. read more

They really do not do anything for you that you cant do for yourself except take your money! Buyer beware! I wish I had read these reviews before we got suckered in three years ago by a very well known named hardware company who advised us to use them! It's been constant paperwork for US to do and send back plus $250 a month that we didn't have at times until finally I said, "Exactly WHAT am I paying you to do?" I had an accountant! every nickel I had was invested in the businesses yet they "supposedly" were "managing" my retirement funds? What funds? I took some of the paperwork to my personal accountant and asked him what I was paying for. He validated. I was paying them to oversee "ghost funds!" So the last time they emailed me that if I didn't catch up what I owed they wouldn't complete their "reports I told them what my accountant said. Then I told them that I had honestly considered having an attorney look at it to see if I had a case for fraud. I haven't heard from them again. Hmm...odd. read more

They know the laws and navigate through the tax codes. Way to detailed for someone without expert knowledge. I sold the company for 4 times what I paid for it, so all in all it is a great service.
