For Opp it's a nice place to get lunch. It is very pricey but the service is always good!

We got double cheeseburger combos. The burgers are fantastic. Great flavor We ordered fries and asked to be fried extra crispy. The fries were soft and soggy. Same with the fried pickles. When we got home we cranked up our oil to finish frying the pickles and fries. The combo only included fries and a drink. They charged an extra $3 for the pickles. I thought that's expensive. Pickles are cheap. The gal at the window was not very friendly. read more

The food actually tasted good, however the portions were TINY. Chicken fingers were literally the size of a pinky finger. 7 " fingers" and 2 sides was over $17. There was less than 1/2 pound of chicken, boneless skinless chicken breast commonly retails for 1.99 a pound. That's less than $1.00 worth of chicken, a few frozen fries and 1/2 an onion, maybe $3.00 total cost. That's 470% markup, quite a bit more than the standard 200% markup for the restaurant business. read more

We stopped today for lunch at Benton's after seeing it on a Yelp search for local restaurants. We were headed through Opp on our way to Laurel, MS. We will definitely keep Benton's on our road trip list. The hamburgers were delicious. Nothing beats a homemade hamburger patty! My boys had the kids chicken nuggets and they tasted like I made them at home. Perfect hand breaded chicken nuggets! Sweet tea and the lemonade get a !! After hearing great things about Benton's, we expected better. The burger was alright - nothing to really recommend it. I ordered the burger with a side of onion rings - the menu said the ORs would be $3 but I was charged $5.50. Not at all worth it since they weren't fresh or warm. My partner got the shrimp plate special. The shrimp was good but the fries weren't even remotely warm. The slaw wasn't good and the hush puppies were straight from a bag. We had lunch here right at noon with a softball tournament going on down the street so they were busy enough to serve hot food. We will make a point of not stopping here again. read more

Stopped by Benton's on our way through coming back from PCB. Opp doesn't have much of anything so when we saw that Benton's had very high rated reviews we decided to give it a try. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and was very pleased. Reminded me of a home cooked burger. Knocked off a star for speed of service and price. Seemed we got passed up on receiving our food and all the locals came first, no biggie, as I'm from a small town and get it. On the way to PCB with a van load of teenage boys. I love to find those off the hook places that may have been seen on shows like Diners, Drive Ins and Dives! Benton's fits the mold. It is off the path in OPP across from the High School. You can go inside to a small yet comfortable eating area or order via the walk up window and eat outside. Great Burgers, shakes and Onion Rings. I found myself starving on the way home from Destin, FLA so I hit up Siri to find restaurants near me. There isn't a ton of non fast food on the FLA/AL border. Stopped by on our way down to Panama City Beach. Pickings are slim when taking back roads down to PCB, so we were VERY happy to find this place. Staff and people are very friendly! Great spot! Stopped here just now on a road trip from Nashville with friends. Got cheeseburgers and chicken club sandwiches and they were spot on! The milkshakes are big, tasty and only $2.95!
