The hotel is priced reasonably, similarly to all other hotels in the area.
It's located in a great area, a three minute walk to the Uffizi gallery and in the heart of other major attractions. It's a short 15 minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station by small streets that are relatively easy to navigate through. The hotel is on the river, which could be a beautiful sight, except in that particular location the river is dirty and nasty. We kept our windows closed.
The room was tiny. Breakfast was decent (fruit, yogurt, toast, bacon, eggs, tea/coffee service, some pastries). Bar open till midnight.
The bathroom in our room had a bathtub big enough to take baths in, and it was clean, made up for the small room. The maids diligently refilled soap and shampoo in the bathroom. They serviced the room twice a day, once to clean and once to prepare for bed (closing shutters, undoing the bed).
Very friendly staff, although some take their sweet time getting off their asses to give you the key which you have to leave at the front desk when you exit the hotel. Front desk staff speak English, call to book tours on your behalf, prepay for them, although require cash payment for them at checkout. 24 hour reception.
Bottom line: will stay at the hotel again. read more
