While my experience here in January 2024 was good, the service during my Aunt's recent funeral was filled with unnecessary struggle and communication issues. From the very beginning of the planning stages, I noticed a severe disconnect. The funeral associate handling our arrangements, Jonathan, was continuously difficult to get in touch with. There seemed to be no sense of urgency on his part to communicate. I even tried to make things easier for him by offering email as our primary platform instead of calling, but the responsiveness just wasn't there. Because we had to postpone the original funeral date by 8 days, our process was longer than usual, which made reliable communication even more critical. We had to specifically prompt him just to get the obituary loaded onto the main website. When the postponed service date finally arrived, we discovered that the printed program cards had the wrong day of the week on them. While the numerical date was correct, the day itself was wrong. For a family, these programs are meant to be a lasting keepsake; instead, it looked sloppy and made it seem as though we hadn't tied up our loose ends. Just when we thought we were nearing the end of the process, communication went completely nonexistent. I ultimately had to call and demand to speak with someone else just to find out why the death certificates were taking so long. We were finally told that they were simply waiting on the doctor's signature. While that delay is entirely understandable, the complete failure to communicate that status to us is not. There are certain professions that require immense sensitivity, empathy, and care toward family members. Funeral directing is absolutely one of them. Our family is very small, and we were already spread incredibly thin. After spending countless days in the ICU with our loved one, making difficult decisions, saying goodbye, and planning a service, I desperately needed the funeral director to be the supportive caretaker I was hoping for to help us close this chapter. Instead, I walked away exhausted and deeply disappointed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (originally 4 stars) 1/15/2024: Writing reviews for funeral homes is always difficult, but maintaining objectivity is the best way to help other families navigating these spaces. I have attended three services at this location over the years--most recently this week--and wanted to share an honest, balanced perspective on the experience. Traffic Noise: Because the funeral home is located right off the highway, the exterior traffic noise is incredible before you step through the doors. While this isn't something the establishment can necessarily control, it can be a bit jarring and disturbing when you are actively grieving. Having not been here in a few years, I noticed the gathering room has been updated with a less traditional look. They have replaced the carpeting with a wood-style flooring. Seating: Personally, I found the new individual chairs to be quite small and uncomfortable. The older, pew-style seating felt much more inviting and comfortable for longer services. The staff here are incredibly welcoming, warm, and attentive. They did a fantastic job setting up a beautiful, personalized themed display table for my uncle. They were also highly accommodating with our schedule. Since we were hosting an off-site luncheon immediately following the service, it would have been difficult to pack up all of our personal photos and flowers right away. The staff graciously allowed us to leave them and return later in the day to pick them up, which was a huge relief. The burial grounds are very pretty, especially with the beautiful new expansion they have added. Having stood right alongside my Aunt through the planning, costs, and service, I can say the experience was ultimately a good one.

The last funeral service was last month for my father who had passed away suddenly. I didn't play much of a part in preparing/planning my mom's funeral so I can't comment on that so I'll focus on the latest one. The funeral home was promptly contacted and we made an appointment to meet up (not until 5 days later because they were booked until then) and we met with Cer who was professional and very responsive. In fact, everyone there was very accommodating. My father had made plans for this ahead of time so we only had to make more minor decisions within the "package" he had paid for. That was really a pleasant surprise because it is a lot all at once - especially when no one expected it to happen. The place is a more practical building though the inside is clearly Asian influenced. I quickly realized most of the people that go through here are Asian. Everyone at the receptionist's desk is approachable and helpful. They also won't kick you out (we accidentally lingered a little longer than our allowed time for the first day and they just waited for us). They offer all sorts of services from Buddhist to Church ones and will accommodate as best as they can to personal requests. We only met Cer that once but she was super responsive via email thereafter. Our visits after that first time, she was busy... somewhere. We opted for Friday-Saturday service dates and she wasn't available those dates but it still went smoothly thanks to everyone involved. They have two large rooms where you can have your service in. Both have a kitchen. One room is a little bigger than the other. They seem pretty clean with plenty of seats. They were also very helpful when we asked to see our Dad so we went a separate time for a private viewing in the back. Again, no rush. Be prepared for some time to pass between each step. They are busy and when we finally scheduled the actual service dates, they ended up being just over 2 weeks out because that was the earliest available. Overall, as good as it could be all things considered. Very helpful and prompt without being overbearing or pushy. They don't try to sell you MORE which is great. (I do recommend getting a "package" for the ones you leave behind if feasible because that was extremely helpful.... The entire process could have been a lot more challenging and time consuming without it.)

Inside, the venue was very spacious, with high ceilings, large doors, and artwork throughout with tasteful lighting and a consistent style throughout the venue. The private rooms, with their artwork and lighting, provided a peaceful setting for small groups to gather and share memories, fostering a sense of reflection. Even though the attendance exceeded the expected 75 people, the venue handled the larger crowd well the reception area was huge, with space for many to sit and enjoy the food. The foyer area became somewhat crowded at times due to the locations of the reception and service areas, causing a slight bottleneck. Even with the large crowd the venue had a feeling of stillness and quiet, offering areas for both communal gathering and private reflection. The restrooms were fully stocked with amenities like napkins, towels, and mouthwash. Parking was adequate, even with the overflow crowd. The staff provided excellent service. The doorman was attentive, and staff were readily available to assist guests. Really well done and proper service for an excellent young man.
