We found this with a quick little Google search and it was very close to our hotel. We got right in and had a great waiter named Martin. The service was great. The food was very good. The first day I got the chicken Cordon Bleu and it was delicious. The second night I got a pork roast dish with a mushroom gravy and cheese spaetzle. My mom, the first night had pumpkin soup and the second night also had the goulash. We enjoyed our meals very much and would recommend. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great as well. It felt authentic, and the servers also wore authentic German outfits as well so that was fun.

I had already done the touristy thing at the historic Brathouse on the Danube river here but that reminded me more of Nuremberg sausages, the small ones. These were full size, and seem to be more indicative of the Regensburg sausage. They have four taps with local homemade beer. Service was fine and the waitress spoke English. I would definitely come back. Also, I posted the sign with the Bavarian breakfast. White wurst and a beer! Not a bad deal.

We sampled their brews in a flight - all were very good, but the Helles was my favorite. Try one of their special schnapps- stay with the fruit flavored ones unless you like the taste of gasoline. Our cruise director, Mario, put together a little side trip to eat some sausages and sample some beers. Well we missed out on the sausage part of the excursion, but we caught the tail end of the beer portion at the Spital (where just a few remained, so we helped extend the visit, yay!). Of course I had beer. I liked the St. Katharinen Spezial, but the darker Spital-Dunkel was my favorite... Oh, did I mention the brewery is co-located? Great place and except for us tourists, it had a very local crowd. Women sat together talking and eating. Men sat at other tables playing cards and drinking beer. It's too bad the weather was already cold and the biergarten closed (though it was being set up as a Christmas market), as it would have been a nice place to sit for extended periods. I would have liked to have eaten there, but we'll have to save that for next time.
