My case looked hopeless before they became involved. I had a judge who was very displeased with me, an attorney who wasn't representing me and hurting my case and I was terrified. Ron accepted my case when no other attorney in Columbus would help. He was able to place me in a much better standing with our judge and saved my case. I wouldn't have won anything if it wasn't for him. His firm saw me as a person; not a billable number. They are calm, professional and truly care about you and your family. Not only does this firm aggressively and assertively work for the best interest of your family; but they provide logical, no-nonsense guidance. There is no other firm who will be there for your family the way that Petroff Law Offices will. I can never thank this firm enough. When they work for you; you'll understand why.

We were recommended to this firm by our local family attorney who met Mr Petroff at a training. They mentioned he was a great man. Well we were assigned Elizabeth Mitchell due to the nature of our case. She has a lot of experience with child services cases we were dealing with. I have to say Elizabeth is very communicative and intelligent when it comes to family law. She was in constant communication with my husband and myself. She made sure to keep us updated with every change in the case. Elizabeth is definitely meant for this line of work. If you need a firm who will fight extremely hard for your family this is it right here. I loved working with them. Thanks again!

1-Star Review I…read morewould not recommend Kia Wrice based on my personal experience. I paid over $20,000 in legal fees, and I am extremely disappointed with how my custody case was handled. I had a large amount of evidence that I believed strongly supported my case. I later showed my evidence to another attorney, who told me that, based on what I showed him, I appeared to have a good case. Yet I did not feel that Kia presented my evidence to the judge or fought for my case the way I expected my attorney to. There were times when I was sent paperwork to fill out myself. I hired an attorney because I needed legal representation and guidance, not to feel like I was putting my own case together. I was even asked to come into the office to help put paperwork together in the proper order. Communication was one of the biggest problems. I was constantly reaching out for updates and trying to understand what was happening with my case. The more questions I asked, the more I felt pushed away and shut out. There were also times when I felt I was given explanations for why things had not been done or why she had not appeared in court. At one point, I was charged for a court appearance that, according to my records, she did not attend. I questioned that charge because I did not believe I should pay for a court appearance where my attorney was not present. I also filed a contempt matter against the father, but I never got to see the paperwork that was filed on my behalf. Later, Kia told me she was going to file for emergency custody and said she needed $135. I sent the money and completed the paperwork she provided. Four months later, I still had not seen anything happen with it. At that point, I told her I was done. I also had concerns about how payments were handled. I was asked to send payments through Zelle because I was told that paying through the attorney account would result in fees that I would have to cover. I paid what I understood I owed and believed I had paid my account in full, yet I was still being told that I owed money. My advice to anyone who hires an attorney is to keep documentation of every single payment. Save every Zelle receipt, bank statement, invoice, text message, email, and receipt. Keep your own running record of exactly how much you have paid because you need to be able to compare your records with any balance you are told you owe. After I ended the attorney-client relationship, I was also extremely upset because I learned that information and materials I had provided to her had been communicated to the other parent. I was concerned about getting all of my evidence returned. Thankfully, I had kept copies of my USB drive and other evidence. I also keep records of my communications, including recordings of some phone conversations. I have documentation supporting my account of what happened, including conversations where I felt I was spoken to in a disrespectful and unprofessional manner. While reading other reviews, I also saw other clients describe experiences that sounded similar to mine, particularly regarding communication. I can only speak for my own experience, but seeing those reviews made me feel less alone. But most importantly, this was never just about me. My granddaughter was at the center of this entire case. What hurts me the most is feeling that she was the one who ultimately went unheard, unhappy, and helpless while the adults around her were fighting over custody. After spending more than $20,000, I expected communication, preparation, transparency, and strong representation. Instead, I walked away feeling extremely disappointed, unheard, and frustrated with how my case was handled. This review reflects my personal experience and honest opinion. I have kept documentation relating to the issues described above.
