Finishing most of my hike up to Aescher, I was ready for a beer and brat! The meal and the view was a tasty reward after my long uphill walk! The patio view is beautiful and relaxing. The food was A-OK, but I would definitely go for the Cheese Rosti (Hashbrown) w/ Bratwurst and a Lager next time. The cost wasn't too bad for Switzerland they also provided menu with English! Overall, Berggasthaus Aescher is more cozy and quaint than Berggasthaus Ebenalp. I'm a fan!

The room is spacious and comfortable. The hotel is centrally located. Matjaz (Matthias) has been incredibly helpful from the moment we entered the hotel looking for parking. He has helped us find two great walking trails, directed us to restaurants, bakeries and places to have drinks and has been extremely friendly. What a great person to have at the front desk- one of the nicest, friendliest, helpful people we have met in our 21 different visits to Europe! ( my wife just informed me he is the 7 th generation innkeeper). We will be recommending this hotel to our friends and son that live in Zurich.

This is a gem! We stayed in late September and absolutely enjoyed it. The rooms are clean and the…read morebeds are really comfortable. It's a short drive to all the local attractions. The staff is wonderful and will help you with any questions you may have. We were lucky enough to see the cows walk by for their annual trek from their mountain pastures to their winter homes in the valley.
