Trying to contact this facility via phone is incredibly frustrating. Regardless the day of the week or time of day, getting someone to answer a call is almost impossible. The recording tells you over and over again that all receptionists are busy talking to other clients. Please remain on the line and someone will be with you shortly. All calls are answered in the order in which they are received. So, perhaps they need to hire more receptionists. Today, after holding for nearly 20 minutes, someone actually answered and before I could say a word, the hung up. Sheesh. read more

Last year I received some new eyeglasses, which are Versace ever since I received the Versace eyeglasses. And ever since I received these eyeglasses the lenses constantly falling out I've taken them back. I've had replacement and still having the same damn problem the managers over that facility claims that they have problems with the namebrand eyeglasses, which I have never heard of. I believe they ordered them from Amazon. I don't believe they are the real Versace. They may have charged my insurance the Versace price and order them from Amazon because they are Ragley. The store manager told me to just hang onto the eyeglasses until it's time for me to get my next yearly exam. In the meantime just try to deal with the eyeglass lens is constantly falling out what kind of manager would tell a customer that is it because I'm black and he don't think I know better I have been dealing with Berkley Eye Care for a long time the first place I begin using Berkeley was in Cleveland, Texas. I never had a problem I had problems when I came to Houston so at this point I am done with Berkeley eye care because they are giving us poor quality service for eyeglasses I even took out insurance. I was referred to Dr. McQueen by Dr. Dana Ziskraut . Dr. McQueen was wonderful. I had my left eye done and two weeks later, I got the right done. It is fantastic to see how bright my house is now. When I walked in I thought my husband had painted the living room during my 15 minute surgery! He is a very kind and thoughtful doctor who prayed over my surgery before he started. He gives you a card explaining why he offers prayers. His message is as wonderful as he is! All the staff are kind, friendly, and fun. The surgery didn't hurt and I highly recommend Dr. McQueen. I made my appointment with Berkeley in Kingwood near where I live. I was fortunate to be able to see Dr. Paul Palumbo. I must say the whole experience was more than the most extensive as well as pleasurable as I've ever experienced. The Dr and his staff are so pleasant, kind and take the time to answer any and all questions I had. I will be going back in a few weeks for a glaucoma test and I really don't dread it as I normally would. Wife's insurance covered opthamology appointment with Dr. McQueen went well. It was the optometry experience that remains a most unsatisfactory nightmare. All she needed was an updated Rx for READING glasses. She was sold bifocals with all the bells and whistles for $500 (pre-paid*) and a 7+day wait. The Rx was wrong. The upper lens distance correction was too strong and, the lower reading Rx excessive as well. The glasses are unusable. The agent persuaded her to try them out to get accustomed to the limiting ranges of bifocaks; and, to bring them back up to 60 days to amend the order at no extra charge; stating there would be no refund otherwise. She's back to using the drugstore readers and the $500 glasses are a total waste. The practice is extremely busy and the optometry management attitude is "sorry...not sorry". So far, her experience is nothing but frustration and regret for purchasing glasses through Berkeley. *mistake! read more

This is by far the best optical places I have been to. The experience from the time you walk in the clinic to the time you check out is excellent. Everyone is friendly, courteous and very accommodating. They make you feel at ease and they explain in detail everything that they are doing and why so your educated about the process. Dr. Brent McQueen performed cataract surgery on my eyes in April, and I am very happy with the result. I really appreciated that he prayed with me before the surgeries. No more contact lenses or glasses for me! From the receptionists to the technicians to the surgical coordinator and doctors, everyone involved in my care at Berkeley Eye Center and at Caplan Surgery Center was very pleasant, caring, and professional and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. Follow-up exams/care by Dr. Barker and Dr. Nguyen were thorough and, again, all my questions were answered. I have one more follow-up appointment in August and then will go to annual checkups. The Kingwood center was fantastic. When I first walked in, I was a little nervous because there were so many people and I felt as though I would get lost in the shuffle. However, check-in was easy. My wait was only about 15 minutes. Dr. Palumbo was extremely informational because I had questions about whether I could wear contacts again years after Lasix. The optical center was nice and inviting and they were very patient because it took me quite a while to choose a frame. Check out was easy. They took my insurance.
