Our bathroom floor was lifting up, I put a work order in and maintenance followed up the next day pulled the floor up and replaced it with new flooring the following day. The maintenance man that did our repairs was Jeremy, I can't say enough great things about him he's always very friendly, respectful, and always makes sure your happy with the repairs before he leaves. Any repairs I've put work orders in for are always completed in a timely manner and all of the maintenance guys do a great job and are very friendly! Friendly but, over charge, you get a gas bill in the apartment complexes name so your charged a service fee which makes the bill double for them to tell you what you owe instead of the bill coming to you. The sneak in a Market new lease and increase your rent every year so expect yearly increases. My rent started at $1185.00 October of 2019 today I received a new lease and they now have increased it to $1,701.00 plus your $100.00 water and sewage based on what your building uses not you as an individual so you pay a piece of what everyone uses. Also don't forget to include the Gas bill they don't tell you about either that you pay for which if it was my own personal bill might be about $35.00 dollars but, since your paying a portion of what your building uses I have to pay between $132.00 - $150.00. So add these extras to what you think your rent will be. Plus of course the bills you do expect power, cable, phone but, those you know about.. I'm talking about the ones they sneak in!!! Also know before moving in here you will need a door camera they rent to state housing the transition homes people that just got out of jail or prison so those are your neighbors. The beg for money, ask for food, break into you vehicles etc. Also the building are infested with mice.. Get a cat!!! They send pest control and they give you these little white houses that don't work because, these mice have been here for years! The pest control guys will tell you this.. On Thursday we had flooding from the sewage backing up and the watering was coming in throw opne pipe in the basement so I the maintenance crew came around to see what was wrong and told my husband he would be back in 30 minutes to fix the flood but he couldn't and refuse to let just know so I called him around 4:30 because water was continuously coming through the open pipe he said tomorrow so I complained that water is coming in from the outside and it's raining hard outside well anyways we never got assistance until nearly 3:00 pm becside I cutsed somebody a total lye just to get tenants to suffer with water damage and not pay but that's a lie you paying for mine the basement is still wet and mildew is foaming so the rug needs to go read more

I would definitely recommend somewhere else. It did get the job done for a short period of time, I must say. They are very sketchy with that whole entire process. Jackie is a lady that works in the front and does the leasing, I'm telling you. Ask for someone else if you do decide to lease there. Sketchy, sketchy, sketchy. She has a way with her words and doesn't word things how they are actually supposed to be. They really look to make money and way they can. The apartment itself, it's very old. Our shower broke once for about three weeks. Literally couldn't shower in our own apartment. I would call Jackie, I would email Jackie. Then finally she literally had the balls to tell me that it was fixed. Little did she know nobody's came to fix it yet. She put the wrong address to get someone else shower fixed! 3 weeks later, we could finally shower again. We left this apartment looking better than it did when we moved in and we are barely seeing any security deposit back. I'm just telling you, they are sketchy with money and how they run things down there! Find somewhere else!!! read more

I was reluctant to write a review. I have been here for 7 years, and it has only gotten worse. I am not a big fan of this place anymore. If there was a "ZERO STARS" option, I would have chosen that instead of 1. There are a lot of things that have gone wrong here, that this place tries to cover up. I'm going to cover them for you... 1. Transitional Housing. If you ask if there is "Section 8" housing here, they will reply that they don't do that here. It is a thin legal line they have walked across to me, my siblings, and some coworkers of mine. Instead, ask them if there is transitional housing here. There are a TON of "transitional" drug abusers and aggressors who have been centrally located in this complex. I've done my research prior to this review. If you have children, never let them outside alone. 2. Lock your vehicles! Countless times there have been police driving through to investigate break-ins to vehicles. Bikes have been stolen over and over. Personally, my father's bike was stolen by some disrespectful kids who went on a joyride. So much for transitional housing! Great parenting as well, right?! 2. Repairs. I hate to sound cliche with repairs not being done by a landlord, but let me tell you how bad it is. Paying $1357/mo gets you: Ceilings with horrible spackling? Not repairable/not a necessity. Vinyl flooring peeling up? Not a necessity. Washer filled with mold? They give you another used, less moldy one. Large rusty pipe sticking up from the ground? 3 years later, no repair. Toilet foundation very loose? Correct repair that was asked, not done. Electrical issue with bulbs blowing out? "You have the wrong bulbs". 4. Unannounced visits. The reason I have resorted to writing this review, is the incident that happened today. I had a member of maintenance walk in unannounced, and start working on my sliding glass door in the kitchen. Let me tell you how angry I was! First off, I did not ask for anyone to come here to fix the back door. Secondly, they have a strict guideline to knock and make their presence known ("Maintenance!") before entering the home. I get that they are still obligated to enter your home, should you not be home, but this guy walked in while my Fiance and I were upstairs. He could have been shot dead, had I not assessed the situation and seen his bag of tools. I immediately called the front office to yell at them. This was a MAJOR VIOLATION of the PA Housing Code, and is now pending investigation. 5. This is probably the worst reason to live here, but I figured i'd cover the "less intimidating". Within the past 2 years, there have been THREE SHOOTOUTS! THREE TIMES there have been arguments that have led to guns being drawn and fired within the past 2 years. The most recent was a middle-aged man who shot into a house of a relative last summer. If at the end of this review, you still feel the need to move in, consider your family, consider your safety, and consider your worth. I had the pleasure of living in one of Berkshire Hills' luxury townhomes with some friends for a year from August '06 to August '07 and I'll start by saying it's not fantastic but if some of us hadn't been graduating we would have renewed the lease. The good, it's pretty reasonably priced and very conveniently located to Wyomissing/Reading and all the wonders to be found there. I heard something about gunshots being fired while I was studying abroad but it's right nextdoor to an Elementary/Middle school so it's pretty safe. The bad, there are a lot of college students some of whom are not as considerate neighbors as we were. It's the place people come to party but the plus side of this is more often than not there's a squad car somewhere in the complex... so that's fun. The ugly, the people in the leasing office leave something to be desired. To be fair, we didn't have any major problems and some of them were fine to interact with but more than once they misplaced or forgot to cash our rent checks and then sent us notices for missed rent. Also our kitchen was not so clean when we moved in and the first time I used the oven I was surprised to see roaches come out from under it. This was handled within a week of us moving in but still... gross. All in all, it's not so bad, it's cheap, it's close to a lot of things.. it's a gangster's paradise. read more

Freaking terrible. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVEN A HOMELESS PERSON! I have lived here for a little over a year and nothing is done on time. From cutting grass to fixing common things. They never trim, ever, qhen cutting grass. To the point grass was above the stoops in the backyard, over 2 1/2 feet high. Even right now with snowfall they are lazy. They have been clearing the snow since 4am. It stopped snowing at 2am. Tell me why only the sidewalks are plowed WITHOUT SALTING and the roads are still filled with snow. The two neighboring complexes are done with thier removal. Berkshire Hills has over 7 men to do this job along with outside hire. read more

I don't recommended this apartment. Everything is old. From the first day I move always put complain. The people is no professional. Many people move from there because don't have parking number for each apartment. And the insulation is very bad. Always I use plastic in my windows and personal electric heater and the electric bill is too expensive around 1000 dollar bill. And now the what I pay 2 thousand dollar for damage. When in the contract say the deposit is fothe damage and my kitties deposit plus 25 dollar each month for that. Please don't go. People is very bad. read more

Terrible place to live. Obnoxious neighbors. Poor maintenence team that takes up to a month to fix your issues, and then doesn't leave a note telling you they were there. That's untrustworthy. Recently relocated from California and moved into the community site unseen. The leasing consultant sent me pictures of the community and the townhome. Everything was exactly what I thought it would look like. The fitness Center is amazing and the community is centrally located to amazing restaurants and shops. We also have 3 dogs, which we were able to bring along with us. Both of my kids attend Wilson Elementary and middle school located right beside the community. Maintenance is top notch and are always out within 24-48 hours to fix any issues right away. If I could give the community 10 stars I would! read more

Terrible place to live the apartments look nice and if you're handy and can fix our own problems then it's an okay place to live, but if you're not handy don't expect anyone to come and fix anything. If you call maintenance not only does it sound as if the person knows nothing of the English language but they also sound like they are talking to you from the inside of a fish bowl. You call the office nicely about a concern they say they'll get back to you and they never do and even have the nerve to say hi to you the next morning you see them as if you never called.
