In December 2020 my hand was caught in a snowblower. I was rushed to the hospital and they sewed my hand up the following Monday. I had to see Dr. Goodrich he basically just checked the wounds and sent me to physical therapy that continued for two months. He told me after the two months I was fine and could go back to work on full duty. I couldn't move my right dominant hand it all so I got a second opinion down and Leahy clinic outside of Boston two weeks later I was having surgery on my hand The hand that I was told by the doctor was fine and I could return to work on full duty!!!! read more

I was told that I needed a total knee replacement before I was even examined By Dr Instrum. Both the MRI and knee X ray did not indicate a lot of arthritis (which is the indicator for a replacement) I have a torn meniscus which is more minor and will be done by the Dr who I went to for a second opinion. This was a very unsettling experience. read more

When Dr. CELLA was here I had my left arthroscopy done and have had him remove fluid once after the surgery. He has since retired, And I have Needed my knee drained at least twice. When I call to schedule an appointment to get the need drained, I got told by one of the receptionists and one of the doctor's receptionists that they don't do need draining procedures in that office. I asked them both since when, Because I had my knee drained there once before and it's in my record proving so. Neither one of them could give me a good reason, one got so annoyed with my question she told me to go to the ER. The emergency room is not meant for standard procedures like knee fluid drainage. Urgent care doesn't provide that kind of service as it's not the e.R. read more

I went here to see what could be done for my knew as it was in excruciating pain. I saw Steve, he was unprofessional. He told me to lay down in the table then touched my knee and pressed his fingers in my knee so hard that I was crying. Then he puts his hand on my hip and tells me to relax after he made my pain worse. Then he tells me the next step is a cortisone shot and I told him no that I had one before and I did not like it. He got upset with me and said " you came here for me to help you and you won't let me help you." I ran out of there in tears. I will never go back. read more

I had surgery in February for an ulnar nerve release. Should have been simple and easy to recover from. I have had to go back 8 times for extreme Pain and loss of function of my dominant hand and arm Now. Only saw the PA, who was rude, quick, and took Only 4 mins each appt to tell me I was fine. But noticed in my paperwork they stated it was swollen months after the operation, still. Asked for an MRI they said it wouldn't help. I called a neurologist and they ordered me one immediately. I asked them for a second opinion at Baystate and I go to see them soon. Do not go here. I would never take the time to download an app to write a review if it wasn't serious. The PA Alexandra is awful and will treat you like you're worthless. Never once saw the surgeon after the surgery even with 7 months of complications and pain and 7 appointments. Stay away and go to Baystate or Boston. read more

From initial consult to post surgery follow up BOA has been caring, profesional and extremely informative throughout. PT was all on an app, so no copays nor travel. I went for leg pain and received an evaluation the first visit. I was told I was very stiff in many places in my body. I got 2 hip exercises and make another appointment. At the second appointment I rode the bike to warm up, did the 2 exercises I received the last week, and got one more hip exercise. I received 5 minutes of personal attention and then was told to call if I had any questions and he said Goodbye. It was hardly what I expected. I would give no stars if I could. read more

If you're going to have hand surgery ,have Dr.Jeffrey Cella do it .I've had good luck with him with similar hand operations ,but do not let Dr. Jarod Goodrich do it...He screwed up 2 fingers on my right hand after going to him for a little bump on a tendon in the palm of my hand. After 6 months , I still cannot make a fist with that hand. I went back to him 2 times after surgery but he had no answers for me. Every day I curse the day I consented to have him operate. I consulted another hand surgeon and was told that I should have waited to see if it went away by itself. I find that the surgeons at Berkshire Orthopedics are rather quick to operate without knowing all the facts. So beware. Get several opinions before they operate. read more

I had to go here for a broken ankle - referred by Berkshire Medical Center which is across the street. The administrative staff unbelievably unfriendly, particularly the telephone receptionists,. We called to say we'd be five minutes late and she wanted to cancel the appointment altogether. Everyone from the doctor to the person who made my cast seemed harassed and too busy. This is the Berkshires not the ER in a major metropolitan area. You'd think from their attitude and their manners that they were all working 12 hour shifts without breaks or pay. If you can avoid this place (admittedly there aren't many options in this area) avoid it! You know when you break your ankle when you're on vacation it sucks. A sympathetic nod or a friendly tone from any one of the folks in that establishment would have made my whole experience somewhat tolerable. Really. read more

I had an appointment for severe shoulder pain they called and I had to reschedule my primary doctor sent me for XRays when I finally saw an Orthopedic she had me take more Xrays then said I needed to get an MRI. Note I have a $2000. Deductible. My insurance only covers this service a hour and a half away. I received 3 calls from BOA wondering if I had scheduled my MRI and that I needed to bring them the disk. 6/21 I had the MRI 6/22 I brought the disk to the office hoping to hear my results. Shields MRI sent me a copy of my MRI with results which was meaningless to me. I called the orthopedic leaving 4 messages to please return my call it's been 2 weeks and nothing. They can't even call me back. I called my health care provider and they will investigate the situation and should have a determination within 30 days I am in excruciating pain, this is costing me a fortune and no one seems to care. I don't recommend these people at all all they care about is the and screw the patient!!!! read more

3 years of cortisone injections, and being told I had hip . This pain started 5 years ago. David Olds Jr, would shoot me up and send me home. But he could only "give me so many shots". So after the limit was reached he did absolutely nothing for me. I switched to UMASS in Worcester, MA. Within 5 minutes of are in me the doctor says "This isn't your hip, it's your spine, let's get an MRI". I don't think BOA knows what an MRI is. So it took him 5 minutes, where Berkshire orthopedics took years and did nothing. The MRI showed arthritis in my spine, bulging discs and no fluid in between vertebrae. These guys are way too important to take care of your issues! I want to have a final consult before surgery, which I was going to have them do. They scheduled the appointment a month in advance and cancelled the day before! No concern for my time scheduled for the meeting. When I told the woman I worked in NY during the week and need an appointment on a Friday or Monday she offered me a Tuesday or Wednesday. I wanted to do business close to home but forget these guys---go to Boston or HSS in NY. read more

HOW are they still in business!! Hurt my knee on sept 10th 2019, my Dr. set up an appointment in Pittsfield, which took 2 weeks I saw a Dr. Sage, he is supposed to be the "knee" dr. They took x-rays of my knee. He came in the room and was VERY RUDE. I don't even think he looked at the x-ray. His mission seemed to be to tell me that it was all in my head, it was artheritis and I was over weight. I made another appointment with Mitz, who held my knee, moving it around and felt something move inside, he said he would order an M.R.I. Went for that at 7 a.m. 2 weeks later. He wanted the results sent to him as he said he could read them as well as the tech. Ha.... So, I did, heard nothing, called up to see if the results came in the following day and he was in surgery all day, called me, very rude, asked me what I wanted him to do??? I didn't go to medical school! Said there COULD BE a tear...hmmm, aren't MRI supposed to tell whats wrong? I could do physical therapy, hell ,I can't even walk! Or (his words) he could drill holes in both sides of my knee,and blow it up with fluid. HUH? The pain would be worse than what I have now for 2 days and the recovery time is 6-8 weeks, he has an appointment open around the first of nov. and he had to go make more calls, he couldn't stay on the phone with me all day, he had other calls to make. I got my results from my primary Dr. the next day, SHE told me there is a tare. I called them back to report how I was treated and he had lied on his report. Said I was told there was a tare. He LIED, he did NOT treat me professionally. His main concern was if I was working, and I told him if I was i'd have been fired, I CAN NOT WALK...0 ambilitory!!!! Then , was I getting disability? In MY opinion.. what does that have to do with my knee. Not fit to be Drs. I just worry elderly people are being abused by the way they treated me...going on 7 weeks of pain that oxy and valium don't touch with rock hard calfs that come and go when I walk, headaches, sick stomach and able to eat maybe a 1/4 of a sandwich in 3 hours. Amazing how much pain your body can go through, but other parts compensate and I wish this on NO ONE!!!! One star is to much! read more

I would like to thank dr. harding for the top knoch job he did on my shoulder last week. he preformed a few injections and told me I would better feel and have full movement of my arm again by Monday, well on Monday I had use of my arm again. he also followed up with a personal phone call on Monday to see how I was doing. Referred to BOA by BMC ER after a fracture. wait time to get an appointment was great, they were able to fit me in the day after. Once I arrived, waiting room time was less than five minutes- this place is great as long as you do not have to interact with the staff. Front desk personnel and Xray techs were unfriendly. Sadly, the PA that I had seen three times never helped with pain management, even though driving there brought me to tears. If you can go to any other practice, i highly recommend that you do. read more
