In the event you are in a car accident this is the firm to call. It is a very stressful and long process. You have to try to remember that you are in good hands and that you need to be patient. But here is my review. On October 10, 2015, I was hit at a high speed leaving my community by a driver who ran a red light. It is a devastating experience to have had to have. Despite losing my second job, receiving injuries I will have to cope with for my entire life, and having my car which I had just paid off totaled; I am still thankful I was alone in the car. I am also thankful that it was me and not a mother with an infant or a small child as I think the outcome would have been far worse. Berman and Berman were the lawyers I chose off a recommendation from my friend and employer. At first Fran was assigned to my case. She had her work cut out for her. The officer who responded did not cite the driver who was at fault. He said it "wasn't worth it because if she went to court and the judge said 'did you see it happen?' and he said 'no' it would have been thrown out." He also failed to list the witnesses who not only called when they saw it happen but also came back to the scene to try to give their names for the report. It quickly became "he said/ she said" as the at fault party consistently changed her story and details of events. She even stated to a coworker that she doesn't remember anything about the accident. Instead of just apologizing she made the process drawn out at best. With pictures from the scene and diagrams Fran was able to assist Hartford in finding the witness and identifying the woman as at fault. This took about 2 months. In the interim I had to pay for a rental car out of pocket. It was an extremely stressful ordeal but Fran kept me positive. Helped me to be patient and always took the time to help me and answer my concerns. After Fran had gotten the liability out of the way I worked almost exclusively with Tami Yergin. Tami is by far one of the hardest working individuals I have ever met. She never let me down. She helped me with my doctors' appointments (and when you are in a high speed accident there are a ton of doctors' appointments).She kept careful organization of my medical bills (as you will learn your PIP does not cover a heck of a lot.) Tami updated me before holidays. She just always went above and beyond. She honestly never let me down. She never lied. She always told the truth and offered guidance to the best of her knowledge. She is a true professional and I am thankful that she was assigned to my case. Tami went as far as helping recover the cost from the rental car as we approached settlement. She is such a proficient and knowledgeable person. I am truly thankful for her and all that she did to help me. This is definitely one of the best staffs overall I ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Truly professional, compassionate and kind.
