I was sitting in an exam room waiting for the dentist and overheard a conversation amongst staff/drs talking poorly about a patient in a very innapropriate and rude manner. It made me pretty uncomfortable but I have really bad dental anxiety and getting there in the first place was a big step so I wanted to follow through. That day I needed a root canal and two crowns so it was a very long appointment. I felt left in the dark throughout the way and Wendy was not super friendly. Not rude but not comforting either. After that I had to make two appointments for cleanings and a cavity. They messed up my appointments and the hygienist almost numbed me on the wrong side, I explained that I had a cavity needing filled and it needed to be the correct side for the numbing. She switched sides and finished. She was also not very attentive or kind, super rough and not gentle while working in my mouth. Today I went back for my third and final appointment. At reception, I reminded them about the cavity and they said it was on the other side, and I said so should that have been done last week? They completely missed it. I was upset and flustered; I have a lot of anxiety around this, and was informed I could get it all done today but that my entire mouth would have to be numbed. It was so traumatizing last week when she gave me the shots that I was shaking after. I decided to suck it up and just get it done and be done with it. The same hygienist from the week prior, Anastasia, came to take me back and asked how I was doing, I was honest and told her not good, and told her why, she decided instead of just apologizing and understanding, that she'd rather argue with me about what happened. I've been so uncomfortable every single time I've been in this office and I finally decided that was enough. I'll find somewhere else. To be honest I'd rather drive an hour to my old dentist in my old town than ever go to this office again. All of this to also say that the way they price things and charge you for things feels pretty scammy, or maybe they're just way overpriced. Another reason I should have trusted my gut on the first day. STAY AWAY, Find someone who will be nice to you while they drill holes in your teeth. Find someone who won't talk shit about you in front of other patients. Find someone who will numb you in the correct location. Please.

I am recapping my experience with the dental office today. I would give them a below 0 score…read more This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a dental office and dentist. The individuals at the front desk, seem nice and sweet when you first engage with them but the minute I questioned something to get clarification they immediately go into hyper sensitive mode and get very defensive to the point where the front desk person raised her voice at me I had to say, I am not looking to argue with you I am just telling you what you told me when I was in last week. Obviously they do not like for a potential client to ask questions about their services. They get defensive very quickly. Example with front desk: When I was in the office last week I asked the price of a 2 surface filling. The front desk person told me $150 then she said $185. I made an appointment and went in the following week to have the dentist Scott do a filling for me. After the dentist looked at my tooth he sends the front desk person in with the pricing and there was an additional $80 for a consultation fee. She did not tell me there would be an additional $80 for a consultation fee the previous week when I asked for pricing before I made an appointment. While sitting in the dental chair I told her that she did not share this with me the previous week when I was asking about the cost. She then said, well you should have automatically known that because we charged that fee the 2 times when you were here before. Those previous times were to look at a tooth to determine what could be done not to have a procedure done that day. I understand the fee for that. She raised her voice to me to where I had to say, I do not want to argue with you I am just explaining to you what I was told when I asked a specific question about the cost. She was immediately getting defensive. Example with the dentist: My experience is that he didn't want to listen to me explain about my situation he just wanted me to be quiet and open up my mouth. This was my first time I was actually going to have him do a procedure on me. It seemed like he was trying to put the fear in me by telling me the worst case scenario before he even examines the situation. He was in the room listening when I was explaining to the front desk person that she did not share with me about the $80 consultation fee added on to the cost to do the filling. Scott then starts telling me about all of his credentials and comparing it to if you were to use a medical facility you would have to see multiple people with those credentials. I am thinking to myself....Doesn't all dentist have those credentials..........not sure why he had to go into all of that to defend his $80 fee and then he starts telling me that he has an expensive piece of equipment in the back and the service person charges him a $50 fee as a trip fee which he doesn't like. For around 10 min. Here I am sitting in the dentist chair listening to the front desk person raise her voice to me saying that I should have assumed there was going to be the $80 fee even though she did not share that with me and the dentist going into a long speech about his credentials and hard his staff works....etc..... Extremely uncomfortable. This is the short version. We decided this was not the place for me to be. Then when I get home I realized the other front office desk person had not emailed me all of my X-rays so I called her to request to have that done. She accused me of calling her a liar when the only thing I said was that I did not see an email from her with the xrays. As I was searching through my emails for the date she said she sent them she immediately said, "I did send them to you and you Should apologize to me" She immediately got defensive. I was baffled that she would say something like that. By the way she sent one X-ray but not both of them. I think it was a blessing in disguise for this event to happen to me so I did not engage with them to be a client.

His staff is also intelligent and gentle during the cleaning. I also no longer find myself waiting 45 minutes just to get in the room for the cleaning, which used to drive me crazy. Each time I get there, I walk right into the room and they have even called me a couple times asking if I wanted to come in earlier for my appointment. They have flexible hours and when I mentioned that I was interested in Invisalign, they took my insurance, found out that I was not covered and let me decide if I wanted it or not (I didn't). I never felt pressured into choosing it. My only gripe is that they do have a text appointment reminder program, but do not sign up. It sends way too many reminders.

She was friendly, personable, and made me feel comfortable throughout the appointment. I have no complaints about her at all. My experience with Dr. Robinson was different. I only spoke with him for about two minutes, and I felt like he moved through my treatment plan very quickly without much discussion or explanation. Rather than focusing on the specifics of my case, the conversation seemed to emphasize why the practice is the best and how great the overall experience would be. I left feeling like I had received more of a sales presentation than a detailed orthodontic consultation. Their pricing was comparable to other orthodontists in the area, so cost wasn't a deciding factor for me. One thing prospective patients should be aware of is that the office offers gift card incentives for leaving reviews. I can't say how much that affects their overall rating, but I do think it's worth knowing when looking at the large number of five-star reviews. Overall, everyone I interacted with was kind, and I genuinely think the quality of treatment here is probably very good. I don't believe I would have had any major complaints if I had chosen this practice. For me personally, though, I place a high value on a detail-oriented approach, especially with orthodontic treatment where small details can make a big difference. I simply would have preferred more time with the orthodontist discussing my specific treatment plan before making such a significant decision.

Green Hills has a very impressive office which houses problematic behavior and substandard work…read more Our teenage daughter needed some cavities filled. Not a pleasant experience for a young woman both physically and emotionally. Having heard wonderful things about Green Hills and having already had a negative experience with a dentist that tried to claim she had some unbelievable number of cavities, we had high hopes. Not only did my daughter leave in tears after her time with Dr. Erskin and being belittled for having cavities, one of the fillings fell completely out about 6 hours later. Had the work been even mediocre, one could chalk up borderline verbal abuse to a bad day, or a poor attempt to motivate a teenager to change habits. The combination makes one wonder why someone would be in this line of work at all. We immediately went to another dentist, our third within a week with our daughter whose nervousness was now bordering on panic attack. We were hoping to just get in, get the filling replaced, and get home as quickly as possible. The new dentist redid the one filling and was so appalled by the others that he stopped work and chatted with us a bit to gently warn us that she would almost certainly have more problems in the near future. I can't quite tell from the billing, but I believe he did some small repairs to the previous work without including it in our invoice. Also, he didn't make her cry, which was, sadly, a new experience for her. He warned us that at least one other filling had about 12-18 months in it (he mentioned something about a "ledge"). He tried to get her to come back in a couple weeks later but she was understandably over all dentists at that point. Sure enough, we are 4 days shy of the 1 year mark of the Green Hills work and another filling has fallen out because she had the audacity to eat pita bread. I'm no dentist, but I feel like a 1-year-old filling should survive the onslaught of a pillowy wheat substance. I suppose if you have thick skin and little concern for the quality of dental work, Green Hills is a fine choice. However, if you're not a fan of being made to feel horrible for needing dental work and would prefer fillings other dentists describe as "shoddy work" in an incredulous tone, maybe give Green Hills a pass.
