If y'all haven't tried the curried chicken salad, what are you waiting for?? One of my all-time favorites. So many delicious baked goods, but the cinnamon roll, while a little light on the cinnamon, was the fluffiest I've ever tasted.

I asked for their turkey sandwich special. By the time I got back to my car, I saw that I was given some chicken salad thing that was the size of half a biscuit - for $4. Not what I asked for. Went back in and asked again for what I ordered.. they were out of. Had to go, so I settled for a pecan roll. Super dry and taste about a day old. Shame because I was really looking forward to trying this place. read more

I'd be so delighted if Spokane ever got a bakery like Bernice's. This place is a gem. It is small and there is not currently any indoor seating due to Covid but there are so many goodies to take home or eat outside on one of the picnic benches or in the tiny adjacent city park. On my first visit for to-go lunch for 4, I took away a cup of squash soup (gingery and very good), some veggie and meat sliders which were dainty but fresh and tasty, and a variety of danishes--the pecan and lemon curd ones are bomb. Did not taste their coffees but had previously tasted their strawberry rhubarb pie at thanksgiving and this was phenomenal. Of course they have a variety of Montana Tea & Spice teas available too. Other things on my list to try: croissants, scones, Bernice's Blend drip coffee, and their espresso drinks. read more

This bakery has the kindest people working here and I can tell that everyone that puts work into this shop is so creative and wonderful, I have never had a croissant that lasted as long as these ones do but also taste so amazing the texture and fluffiness of these croissants are to die for. I definitely have to say my all-time favorite item is the lime cream cheese danish, it's literally like eating Keylime pie and a croissant all in one! I'm nearly 2,000 miles away from this bakery yet I love it! My daughter lives in Missoula and frequents this place for coffee and cupcakes. I contacted Bernice's to order a birthday delivery for my daughter and they were WONDERFULLY easy to work with! They recommended flavors and a beautiful collection of cupcakes and pastries and then personalized the box with a lovely drawing and message from our family to my sweet girl. Birthday morning at 9 a.m., my daughter was surprised by a delivery person with her birthday boxes filled with a scrumptious assortment of freshly baked treats and a grand cup of her favorite coffee! She was so excited and pleased by the local gift and we felt great supporting a small business rather than sending something from AMAZON. I couldn't have been happier with the process and the results. My daughter brought her birthday treats on a mountain hike and enjoyed them with a friend! This place is so great!! My mom stays in the airbnb above the bakery all the time and SHE loves it!!! The latte's are the best I've ever had!!! The quiche, all of the salads, even the hard boiled eggs are delicious!! Great service but the cake I spent nearly fifty dollars on wasn't too fresh (the frosting tasted really off). That said, the cake was beautiful, I'd just make sure you double check you're getting something freshly made if you're picking up a one of their classic cakes. read more

I got the Nutella croissant and was initially a bit surprised by it, it was not as"puffy" as the croissant I usually get from a coffee shop, instead, it's pretty dense. After a few bites I grew to like it. It did take about 10 minutes for the croissant to come because I asked to be warned up. read more

We both are from different states, thou we were celebrating his birthday in Missoula and I was committed to making his birthday special. I spoke to the previous owner Christine and she was helpful and answered all questions I had about certain dietary needs. She listened and suggested ideas. I ordered the strawberry shortcake tall, fresh strawberries with fresh whipping cream, a 6" cake for $35.00. I waited about 15 minutes to get to the cashier to pick up the cake as this place is popular by the locals. Cake was tasty, moist and flavorful. He was very pleased with the cake and I had happy birthday written in French.
