I've read some of the other YELP reviews and although at times I have run into similar hiccups, in all honestly, those same experiences have happened at multiple law firms throughout my life. I'm beginning to wonder if it's the nature of the beast. I am not in the judicial industry, so I don't know. So many times the final cost was much more than I expected. There seem to be way too many people with their fingers in the pot consulting on the same case. But I would imagine that's how they can best support each other and keep the case moving when one is out of gets caught up in another case. Things that I deem essential get dropped, or after explaining what I think is important, the attorney focuses on a different point. I, too, was surprised to have to pay for a consultation. But it isn't just in Illinois, other law firms in different states are now requiring the same. Yes, do your homework to see if a law firm is a fit with your personality because that's ultimately what it's about. I also wish that law firms would do a better job of laying out what happens step by step and what causes delays. As well as average costs rather than per hour costs. Maybe if they had to present a form at the beginning, like a lender or title company, then consumers might be better educated and not as irritable. In my experience, Kevin O'Flaherty and team are great attorneys and a fabulous firm.
