The blinds by my balcony were broken and I was told that I had to pay out of pocket to fix them. There were constantly fake fire alarms going off with blinding lights and noise, and the elevators would get shut off. There were 5 times in 7 months that I had to walk up 10+ flights of stairs due to this. I was forced to wear a face mask constantly. The pool was always closed due to Covid. The owner sent rude emails that were always along the lines of "Don't do this, don't do that." The garage gates constantly were locked when I got home from work. Between waiting for that and my packages, it wasted 20 minutes every day. If I ever ordered from the restaurant downstairs on a Sunday, I was given an attitude. When I went downstairs at night to the snack store, the security guards gave me dirty looks. However, my husband loved it and refused to move out with me. I ended up getting divorced and left with the clothes on my back because it was that bad. Unless you make $100K a year, you'll be living like a peasant here.

The living room has wooden floors and the rest of the area is carpeted. Kitchen is spacious and appliances are new. We had some issue with the toilets getting clogged up on and off but the maintenance guy is very helpful (he comes once a week for non urgent issue though) The hallways, elevators and other interiors of the apartment complex are very well kept. There is a fully equipped gym which is very well kept too. The apartment comes with 2 indoor parking spots(very helpful during the winter!) which are assigned and there are around 10 spots for guest parking. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that our apartment was towards the front ie towards Polifly road and the traffic noise especially the ambulances were kind of annoying! The rent is slightly on the higher side but if you can afford it then I would highly recommend it!

Ever since Covid they have adopted a money hungry mindset that truly is over the top . I occupy one of the older units that has not had any remodeling or upgrades done in decades, but Every year my rent is raised 4%. Hekemian refuses to cap rent increases for these older units which I feel is predatory. We as tenants are getting less and less service, but the rent keeps going up. Management has begun to nickel and dime all of its residents by taking away almost all visitor parking and turning them into paid spots that tenants could rent. When the last two on sight property managers quit, they only filled one of the spots and this has created a lack in up keep all over the complex. Trash is all over the property and left for days, the laundry rooms are filthy and are not cleaned regularly, as are the washing machines which are also filthy and filled with dog /cat hair from previous washes so clothes are not being fully cleaned, yet they have increased the prices on all laundry machines. It's a blatant money grab, and when property management is approached about all of the above they wait weeks to respond to ultimately give the oh well sorry this is what we have to do to make money spiel.... My lease is coming up for renewal and it kills me to think that I may have to stay one more year and bear the $800 more I have to pay a year. I love my neighbors but the blatant greed is just too much for me to accept. If you can find another management company to rent from, do it.

Disappointing…read more Flying into LGA and making my way to NJ made for a long morning/early afternoon. All I wanted was to settle into my hotel room and relax for a bit. The hotel location is convenient to car transport if not the most alluring of locations (think 'office park'). But you're in Teaneck, not Midtown Manhattan so you should already be fine with location. I was. I was not fine with the level of service I received during my 3-night stay. I walked in to be greeted with attitude. Far from indifference, this was hostility. I didn't understand. I, literally, walked out of my rideshare and into negative body language (pursed lips, eye rolls and neck movements) and dismissive language. What made it worse was that at this time, I was close to Diamond status. This is a perk of membership? I wasn't smiled at, greeted, told about the hotel amenities, food options, or, even, offered water. Unacceptable for a hospitality business. The frustration continued with my mid-level room with no view. At first I was just happy to be in a room. This one had a decent size and I liked that I could stretch out. That's when I noticed multiple grains of rice on the floor. Was this not cleaned? The bedding didn't have visible stains but that's not dispositive of cleanliness. My fears were deepened when I went to the bathroom and discovered hair on the shower products. I contacted the front desk. No apology. No new room. Housekeeping came up (eventually, not immediately) and went through the motions of cleaning the floor and bathroom. I asked for a towel set from the cart. I slept in sweats, socks, long-sleeved shirt, and do-rag to minimize the amount of skin that touched the sheets. Again, no visible stains but I don't know if it was laundered (given the state of the room). 2 stars because I didn't leave with a rash. Faint praise, I know.

My first morning it was cheesy eggs, breakfast potatoes & a bagel & cream cheese. The 2nd morning oatmeal, yogurt & a pancake. Pretty good breakfast setup. No bathtub, shower only. The staff is really the standout here. Always friendly and helpful. I wish they had a restaurant that served food as I usually arrive late and starving but I've learned to plan for it.
