Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

My excellent ophthalmologist, William Segal, M.D. of GA Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Duluth…read morereferred me to Dr. Nancy Weiner, a Neuro-(neurologist) ophthalmologist for further examination and definitive diagnosis of a very upsetting & ongoing post-cataract eye problem of 7 years ago. Other physicians had avoided discussing the problem (telling me anything); a technician some years ago was the first to mention there was a problem with my eye. It is too much to go through all of the negative experiences before a friend referred me to Dr. Segal earlier this year. I spoke with Dr. Weiner's office person Jane when I called to schedule an appointment. It was as if we had met previously & had known each other for some time. She was warm, patient & shared other information with me that was needed & very helpful (not related to my eye problem). She was the same on the day of my appointment. I had to wait to see the doctor, as has been the case with all of my doctors' appointments, but Dr. Weiner, WAS WELL WORTH THE WAIT. I also said that to a man who commented on how long he had been waiting and another man agreed with what I said. Someone once said, "You can tell a good doctor by the number of people waiting in the office." Dr. Weiner was absolutely wonderful!! She took some time to get to know me and what I have been experiencing, which I thought was excellent. I never felt rushed at all!! She asked appropriate questions re my past history, especially specific to my eye, explained as we talked; I felt comfortable and asked questions when I needed more information. I said to Dr. Weiner, "I had to wait 7 years to find out what the problem is with my eye." I had been to Emory for several years and another ophthalmologist before seeing Dr. Segal & then Dr. Weiner. I thank God for my friend who referred me to Dr. Segal, both physicians, their I had read the negative reviews posted before calling for an appointment, and was not deterred because I realize many people do not understand why children should not be running around in an office with people who are visually impaired, not feeling well, whatever. I also know that the people in the doctor's office do not know the specifics of everyone's insurance and cannot tell us if our insurance will definitely pay the entire bill or not. It is our obligation to know and understand what our insurance coverage is and the process for having our insurance company make payment. At my visit with Dr. Segal last week I told him that he is no longer #1. He did a sad face :-) and asked who is now #1. I told him that he is tied for #1 with Dr. Weiner. He smile and said, "Well that's okay; didn't I tell you she's wonderful." He went on about Dr. Weiner for a couple of minutes.

I chose Dr. Hamilton and am delighted that I did. He exemplifies professionalism and his interpersonal skills are outstanding. His competence, caring and compassion are evident in the manner in which he communicates - taking whatever time is necessary to answer every single question I asked before and after the surgery. I never felt rushed nor made to feel like "just another patient". Dr. Hamilton performed both surgeries flawlessly and my vision is perfect. For the first time in over 40 years I no longer need to wear distance glasses - this is simply thrilling! A word, too, about his staff which similarly exudes professionalism in an impeccable, friendly and courteous manner. This environment is created at the point of scheduling appointments and carries through the various eye exams and the pre- and post-op surgical procedures. The business administration component was also efficiently taken care of - it was seamless. All to say, I highly recommend Dr. Hamilton as your ophthalmologist - he is meticulous! Thank you, Dr. Hamilton.
