He was critical our electricians' job and told us many times that he questioned if the work would ever pass inspection. NO PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRICAL INSPECTION. He told us that he would make a 12 inch metal plate so that we could install our deck umbrella, but instead, he used 2 wooden blocks under the deck. Within 15 minutes, Larry Wallace the owner of Carolina Contracting And Tree Service had contacted me to come out and look at the problem.(seemed to be very nice.)He did come out within a couple of days.. however, when he come out, looked at the problem, he give us a quote that was a bit on the high end but we were in much need of it being done because they were calling for rain and we had just had All the new Sheetrock freshly painted. So we decided to go with him. He guaranteed when it was complete, we would be satisfied. We were paying for all the materials, just paying for labor for Larry to do the work.After removing all the metal from the front of the house so there was no roof at the front where he was repairing. He calls me out to say, He needed to put on a new ridge bc it wasn't wide enough.When asking how much more that would be, he told me the same amount that it would cost from the first estimate so he doubled the price. Knowing rain was coming we had no roof on the front part of our house. He then states he would not guarantee the work if he did not put the ridge on so pretty much we had no choice. We did say that was too much, but received a sarcastic remark from Larry,That he was fixing someone mess. This is a 1800 square-foot house with a very low pitch Roof It was not the entire roof He was fixing, just in the front in one spot. It took them maybe seven hours max to complete job start to finish and he charged us $12,000 after they had completed the job we paid him in full, saying at that time you know you did us wrong , (you reap what you sew) . Larry then states he sleeps well at night. Sometime after I sent Larry a message, letting him know that the roof had bulges where it was popping up. Sent him pictures as well. He said he didn't see anything wrong.But He stated he would come out and take a look and he would be back in touch with me never heard from him after that, I sent him another message, letting him know that we had gotten our problem fixed, and I didn't appreciate him not keeping his word. This was unfair and I knew he would not want his home looking like that if it were his.His response was well. Does the roof leak? He also Stated that we must have been satisfied because we paid him. That's not the case we paid him because that's what he charged. And we try to do the right thing by people. Lesson learned!! I then told him that I would be doing a review then he sent a message stating that I was mad because I had to pay him to fix someone else's mess. We were just looking for an honest person to do the job with an honest/fair price.Because you get much further in life, being honest, humble and kind.I would not refer him to do any work. He is very sarcastic, and very price gouging, the roof does not leak however, if you want it to look a mess then I guess he's your man. If not, I would not choose him to do any work for me, because you will pay top dollar for a shabby job.I can't rate him at zero because there is not a box to check for that however, I will rate it as a one for that reason.
