Stopped by this place on a whim after seeing their ad on the back of Rutland magazine in the coffee shop. Started with Allison in the design department. I have a small outdated kitchen with little functionality. After a couple weeks I had an amazing kitchen design that not only made the most of my budget and space, but Allison tweaked things several times when I changed a sink and range size. Her attention to detail was excellent. I met Molly while working with Allison. She is like the Siri of appliances. She had a wealth of information at her fingertips and even scoped out some options for me. When the time came to look seriously at appliances it was a total waste of time to go big box stores where they couldn't even answer simple questions and told me nobody made 18" dishwashers. ‍ Molly spent over 2 hours pouring over details of ranges and fridges with me and worked out 3 packages to choose from. Additionally she looked at who had rebates and promos available. BEST offers everything from budget appliances, scratch and dent specials to very high end choices for the discerning customer. I always prefer to support local business and am pleased with my experiences. It's unfortunate that people are less likely to post positive experiences (and I've heard so many about this business) and mostly complainers run to post their experience. They would have never been in business so long in Rutland and Woodstock if they weren't doing things right. read more

We purchased from Best on the recommendation of a neighbor who left a (very positive) review here. We purchased new appliances for our entire house - fridge, stove, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Unfortunately, the washing machine has never worked. Their service people came out and misdiagnosed the issue repeatedly, ultimately instructing us to re-wire our outlets and install non-code compliant outlets. Bad advice, and that was ultimately proven to not be the issue. As we tried to fix the issue, the manufacturer's warranty lapsed. Reluctantly, we paid an additional $500 out of pocket (on a $1000 machine) for their service techs to come back out and install various other parts, but without ever fixing the machine. From day 1, the machine was a lemon. And to this day, the machine is not working. Best's sales staff's proposed resolution is to charge us full price for a new machine. Phone calls to management go unreturned. They give bad advice, don't stand behind their work, and clearly don't care about fixing issues for their customers. Needless to say, we've taken our business elsewhere and will never go back to Best for any reason. Do business here at your own risk. Zero stars. read more

Stopped by on a Friday and was greeted by Molly and her dog. Large variety, and knowledgeable about the appliances. Ended up purchasing fridge and dishwasher, sales and delivery setup was easy. Few days before delivery, called back and needed a small basement fridge, again Molly made process easy. Was a little nervous about delivery, due to bad experience in the past. Not this time, on day of delivery, they called 30 minutes before arrival. Joe and Dana did a awesome job of delivering and installing dishwasher and other appliances. This is the worst company! We bought a new stove there about a year ago. The broiler stopped working and we called them to get it repaired. After calling again and again and again they finally sent a repairman out. He said that we needed a new broiler burner and would be back in 2-days. After about a month we called them again, and again and again. They finally called us back and said "the manufacture does not make the part you need any more". This of course was ridiculous since the stove was a year old. I ended up calling the manufacture myself and was able to order the part in a matter of minutes. I had the part delivered to my house 2-days later for a total cost of $23.00. I then called Best appliance and ask them to send the repair man back out and they said "we don't do that if you buy your own parts"!! This is a horrible company! Stay away! We are very unhappy with the service department of Best Appliance. We purchased our stove, range hood and dishwasher from them. We called a month ago to have our stove serviced. After explaining this issue, they gave us the earliest date available, today. We phoned yesterday afternoon to confirm time and left message. No return call came. We phoned today, and after many calls back and forth, they say they have no record of our appointment. They said they would send the repair person this afternoon after completed another repair. Best Appliance just called back stating that they don't have any employee that can work in gas stoves. Worst customer service ever ! I bought a dishwasher that was not in stock. It should have been in the following week but I received a phone call letting me know it was on back order and should be in the next week. That was fine, but two more weeks passed and I hadn't heard from them. I called and the man that answered told me that it had come in and Molly was supposed to have called me. For more information, I needed to talk with her. She was with a customer and would return my call when she was done. Later that afternoon, I called again. I told the woman who answered that I was waiting for Molly to call me back and I needed to talk to her. She said "The customers in the showroom are more important than returning a phone call". Yes, her exact words. I had already been waiting for three weeks. Once these arrogant people have your money, you are no longer a valuable customer. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We have purchased over $20,000 of high end appliances from this store thinking that we would need to buy locally so that when there were service issues they would be there to help. The guy on the phone his name is Joe, said that he did not have anyone to send and that there were many calls ahead of us. Well OK he could have let me know how long it would take and schedule us out if necessary. He didn't he just gave some lip and stupid excuses and left me hanging. I was polite and said have a nice day etc. and moved on from lackadaisical employee or owner? I moved all our frozen food to a friend's house. Took apart the freezer to defrost it (it's a no frost freezer and had big sheets of ice built up behind the freezer drawers which froze to the drawers so the drawers were frozen in when the freezer didn't get cold again for 48 hours we knew there were issues.) I started calling independent repair services in the area. Best Appliance guys are the pits. I'm writing this review after a different set of problems happened about a year ago with them. And the trouble we had to go through to get the correct door put on when we bought the fridge was equally a hassle. Stay away if you can! This was the worst shopping/return experience. We purchased a $900 washing machine that broke after 3 months. Called Best Appliance, who sent out technician. Technician told us it was our electrical system and to get our electrician in....which we did to the tune of $400. Our electrician actually spoke on the phone with someone from store to tell him the technician was wrong and the problem was not electrical. Washer still did not work. Technician, whom they claimed could not return for another week, finally showed up and said it was the panel on washer and he would order a new one. Again, 10 minutes before he was supposed to show he called to cancel. Came 5 days later, stayed 10 minutes, claimed it was fixed and left. NOT FIXED. I immediately called store and was told maybe he could come back at the end of the week - he is busy. We asked for an exchange - they refused. At this point we want money back - they told us they credited it back to card. They LIED. Then swore at my daughter and were ungodly rude when we went in to refund card while we waited.
