As we entered, the young man and woman behind the counter informed us, loudly, that they were closing at 6:00. We said hello to the man at the cash register and asked him how things were going, to which he replied "TERRIBLE!" At that point, we noticed that they had put away most of the meat on display, even though it was only 5:45. We felt very uncomfortable and decided not to stay. We won't return. We understand wanting to get home on a Sunday night, but if your hours are until 6:00, why are you packed up before that time and treating your customers like an inconvenience? Change the hours to 5:30, close the doors and you can get home by 6:00!

This store is nicely arranged, with attractive displays at the end of every aisle. Every time I shop at Fresh Market I end up trying something new. So many unique food items to try. Today my new item was the jalapeño pimento cheese spread. It has just the right amount of jalapeño, not too hot. Just a nice flavor kick. The cashiers are always outstanding. Shopping at Fresh Market is zero stress. Always an enjoyable experience.

They had plenty of samples and a great selection of products at amazing prices. Who would have ever thought that cheese curds come in that many flavors? I bought a few items, which were all excellent in quality. You can also watch the cheesemaking process from the shop, which was quite interesting. There was nothing fancy about the shop, but it was incredibly clean and the workers were friendly. It was definitely worth the 20-25 minute or so detour through Amish country from the interstate to this gem. I regret not buying more cheese there but considering I was away from home, I tried to limit myself. If I would have known that what I purchased was so tasty (and well priced), I would have bought some more cheese to take through six states with me. We have been to several of these around the country and while each is unique in their own way they are still funny and a semi throwback to your childhood. Good to note it's pricey as all novelty stores are Staff is super friendly and well educated on what product they have on hand and what they don't. If they don't have something they look it up for you to see if it's even still made of you ask them too. Which was my case with Violet crumbles. Very well organized and stocked shelves. The walls are lined with funny T-shirt's and wall plaques that are fun to read. Easily able to spend a good hour inside just looking at all the products and reading stuff. And it'll be fun too. One wall has bins of fun taffy flavors and loose candy to buy by the bulk. And today you were able to sample a piece. In cold cases they have novelty sodas such as dill pickle and bacon maple. I had to buy a dill pickle soda for my love of all things pickles. Highly recommend stopping by and taking out of town guests to. Super fun store.

I think I would have given this business if I made it on a tour, but they didn't have one at the…read moretime of our visit. The store is very dated, but I don't gig them for that. They apparently are obviously successful, having spanned many decades of business which I think goes back to at least the '50's. There are pictures of people who sent autographed pictures with thanks for the delicious pickles. I remember one being President Dwight Eisenhower. I believe they had another one from Frank Sinatra. The store has a nice fridge full of sample pickled items to try before you buy which is helpful. We ordered many items and happy with them all, both sweet, mild and hot. You can see the factory through a large window and there are tours which would have been cool, I'm sure. I think it was listed as the #1 or 2 attraction in the area which is why we checked it out. They are the real deal when it comes to pickles. Kathy, Store Manager was helpful and willing to answer all of our questions about their history and wares.
