I am not sure how this place stays open. In order to purchase many items you need to sign up to have a salesperson help you. We walked in today to buy an iPad and checked in at the front. We waited at the iPads as requested. After 15 minutes and no appearance of a salesperson we left and purchased the iPad at Target. The store had only a few customers and multiple salespeople just milling around. They really need to rethink their customer service. read more

They actually get no stars from me. I won't recommend this store to anyone. They made a fraudulent purchase using my best buy card and after I complained, I canceled the card and took out a new one. The fraudulent charge was put onto the new card. I immediately canceled that card which I NEVER received in the mail and I canceled the subscription the charge was for. best buy security put the charge on the CANCELED card two months AFTER I canceled it. They claim I owe the money. I also canceled my total tech subscription and was owed a refund. They stole that, I was told they wouldn't give me the refund because I filed a complaint of a fraudulent charge. Next thing I knew they stole the refund and put it towards the charge they said I owed. So now, online I owe less but I received my January statement and they are still billing me the whole amount of the fraudulent charge. They also threatened me. They said they were going to report me to the three credit bureaus if I didn't pay up. The charge is fraudulent because they didn't have the courtesy to email me BEFORE it was due and alert me to that fact. Geek squad should NOT have access to anyone's best buy card and best buy security definitely doesn't have authorization to use it. Do NOT shop there unless you pay with cash or a check. Do NOT get a best buy card. CITI bank who issues the cards are also corrupt. The proof for me is the fact that I never received the second card and yet they are saying I have it and the fraudulent charge was put on it AFTER I canceled my original card and the subscription it supposedly was for. If something is charged to a canceled card that constitutes fraud! and in this case best buy perpetrated the fraud! I am actually responding to best buy who saw my post and offered to "help". Unfortunately they think everyone in the world has either facebook, twitter or instagram. I have none of those. This only proves to me that they don't care and aren't willing to assist. Buyer Beware of purchasing from Best Buy. I have always loved Best Buy and felt like they had to get things going with high-end electronic products, which is why I come here for them and not a competitor. However, after purchasing this camera and lens set for around $1000 all it arrived at my house today in an oversized box, 4 times the size of the camera box, with one piece of flat bubble wrap sitting in the box. The box was crushed, not entirely Best Buy's fault, but a smaller box and suitable packing material would have fixed this. So now I have a $1000 camera and lenses that have banged around in a box with no guarantee they will work when the recipient of the gift opens them under the tree. SHAME ON YOU, Best Buy, you are a niche brand. If you want that to continue to survive in the electronic world, fix your QC regarding packaging. You are selling expensive electronics, treat them with care, it is all you have going for you. The staff at this location is extremely friendly. You are immediately greeted by Security when you walk in the door and they ask you whether you need assistance. If you decline, they offer to provide customer service at anytime during your visit if you return to them. It's seems overly friendly, but I am not opposed to the level of customer service they are providing as it creates a unique and fun experience. The store overall is a smaller version of the normal store. Their car audio section is in the back let corder, hidden behind the large appliance section. I missed it the first few times I walked in. They have MANY aisles of TVs which appears to be their biggest seller since 1/3 of the store seems to be large screen TVs with the small ones hidden. Their inventory seems small compared to other Best Buys and that is likely due to customer-base in the area. I did utilize Geek Squad services on one occasion to avoid having to travel all the way to the Apple store in Portland. Friendly staff and knowledgable. Overall, it's a nice store, friendly staff, I just find it difficult to locate items compared to other stores. read more

I purchased a new iPad at the Augusta, ME Best Buy on Friday. Plugged it in to charge overnight. The tip of the charger broke off in the port, thus it could not charge. Took it back to BB Saturday am. The manager of the Geek Squad informed me that they could not repair it, nor would they replace it. Called it physical damage. Seriously?? Shout out to Mike and Isiah at Kismet Computers who quickly and quickly easily removed the broken piece! I will not buy at Best Buy again. read more

Jennifer in the laptop computer section was incredibly helpful. I had placed a d paid for a laptop online. When my husband arrived at the store an hour later to pick it up, he found out that it hadn't arrived. Even though the store had the exact same computer in stock they could not use it to fulfill my order. The online orders must be delivered to the store for pick up. This wasn't disclosed when I ordered so it was very frustrating. Jennifer worked extra hard to get the situation resolved. She went above and beyond!!! read more

We had to wait for a dishwasher on back order for months. By the time it got delivered, we had to wait for our contractor to be able to schedule install. The dishwasher did not fit. Best buy is not allowing a return (which is under a 60 day window) and said we only had 15 days. We were under the impression returns were 60 day return window. They wont take it back at all. We asked for a discounted return and they still refused. Ridiculous return policy especially for appliances like this that require professional installation. Will NEVER buy anything from best but again. This is why Amazon is surpassing big box stores like Beat Buy- returns are easy and they are reasonable. read more

While driving to our camp in Maine, my friend realized she left her camera charger back in LA. Doh! We rolled into Best Buy - this one has roughly the same layout as most other BBs, so we quickly found the camera section. Unfortunately, charger replacements are expensive things (WHY do cams not charge via USB??). She did not end up purchasing a replacement, but while we were there, at least two employees stopped to see if we needed assistance and helped answer some questions about the various chargers. I needed to replace the battery in my iPhone 7 Plus. After learning that Staples in Rockland, ME would charge $139, I checked with Best Buy in Augusta and learned they charge only $49. They are Apple certified. Online scheduling was easy. The technician was courteous and helpful. He told me it would take 3-4 hours. My phone was ready for pickup in less than an hour. read more

Best Buy has truly gone down hill and is losing my almost 20 years of business. Everything we buy that is electronic from computers to appliances is from Best Buy. This Spring, my wife and I decided it was finally time to purchase a new refrigerator so, we ordered one from Best Buy. Since then we have had nothing but trouble and it has been a Summers long nightmare. Between delivery screw ups, shipping the wrong fridge and then it being damaged as well, customer service disconnecting calls and never calling back(even though they ask for your number in case you are disconnected), and a general run around, we have had it. In this latest attempt to get the correct refrigerator, I kept getting texts that delivery was on time for 09/12/23 between 8:30 and 12:30. On the day, I get a text at 11am that delivery will occur on 09/26/23. I called to ask why and Geek Squad tells me a delivery guy called in sick and they had no way to get it to me. I then chatted with Best Buy on the computer and they said it was due to the item being out of stock. Which story am I to believe? How could it be out of stock? I ordered it when it was in stock. I think between the personnel changes and the fact that you can no longer contact your local store via a phone call, this place has lost all credibility. If I ever get my refrigerator, I can tell you it will be the last time I buy anything from Best Buy. read more

I have been buying all my electronics there for years and always have had great luck. Plus, most of the associates know what they are talking about. I used to think it was worth the extra price, but a few or several years ago they started price match and now it just seems prices are in line with the big dogs, and I believe it is a better product. For example, yesterday I bought the last Insignia True HD 19" TV. I almost bought another brand that was $40 more, but the associate reminded me its not true HD, just 720, so I decided to wait until back in stock. That was great advice that I happy about now, since I am using the one I bought in sunroom (replaced an older one that was fine but not smart from Best Buy) and its awesome and glad I am waiting for them to restock. He said they are selling a ton of TV's, so my kitchen TV can wait. read more

This has been one of the most disappointing retail experiences I've ever had. I don't even know where to begin. To provide some context, in Central Maine, there are not many electronics stores; Best Buy is pretty much one of the few options available to purchase televisions, computers, cell phones, etc. I have given this particular store thousands of dollars in business over the past three years and have always found the service and knowledge of staff to be at least acceptable, but my most recent experience was so horrendous that I am morally compelled to share it with the rest of the community. Two nights ago, my fiance, two-year old son, and I went shopping in the Best Buy store in Augusta, Maine around 6:30PM. My fiance was trying to purchase an iPhone through AT&T, a process that shouldn't take more than a half hour or so. During the three hours this whole process took (which we tried to just cancel out after about 90 minutes because it was taking too long and the service was rude and used profanity in front of my son), we kept being told to "hold on, it's almost done." Well it was never done. We were ushered out of the store with an iPhone that was not activated. The assistant manager told me that we'd have to come back the next day and that we couldn't return the phone because the activation hadn't gone through. What??!! That made no sense! I didn't even tender him the money yet for the purchase, and was told we had to leave with it. It gets worse. The next morning we showed up when the store opened and went straight to customer service to return the phone. We receive our invoice and are on our way, thinking the nightmare was over. It wasn't. An hour later the store manager calls us and tells us WE HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE STORE TO RETURN OUR ITEMS BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T PROPERLY RETURNED, AND IF WE DON'T COME BACK, WE'LL BE CHARGED $700 FOR THE PHONE. From where I was sitting, I had the return receipt in hand, and this was no longer our problem. Begrudgingly, we return to Best Buy to spend another hour trying to finalize the return. This was a nightmare. I will never give Best Buy Mobile my business ever again. We were not even given a proper apology from a manager. Except for Robbie (who was fantastic), the representatives who worked with us were rude and showed a dereliction of their duty to provide at least ADEQUATE/SOMEWHAT DECENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Save yourselves sometime and go to a corporate cell phone store. They know what they're doing and won't waste your time. And they probably won't threaten you or swear in front of your children. Best Buy used to be great. Maybe this store once was, but it certainly isn't now. There are major out-of-stocks everywhere and this location never, ever (did I say never?) answers the phone. I need to return a computer purchased just yesterday and replace it with a more desirable model. I called last night on the way home nine times to make sure the right unit was in stock (the website says it is) but no one ever answered. I tried different departments and even ask the VRU for the manager. Absolutely no one answered. I did this for 50 minutes until I arrived home. As I write this (next day now), I am on my fourth call and have been on hold for over 20 minutes. No one answers the phone! You only get music, no matter what department you ask for. read more

This review concerns the Best Buy store in Augusta Maine, located off from Western Avenue. I had needed to have some repair work done to my son-in-law's laptop, and also needed to purchase a Fitbit watch, two computer cases, and some ink cartridges. After walking over to the tech counter, I noticed three males in their mid 20s engaged in working with a attractive twenty-something female. They were completely enthralled with her issues with a remote control, and seemed quite eager to assist her in understanding it. An elderly gentleman was seated in the area, and after a few moments of being ignored by the employees at the tech counter, he tapped my arm and informed me that I would need an appointment. I stated I was waiting for someone to take my information. I asked how long he had been waiting, to which he replied "10 mins or so." I asked if he had an appointment? He replied, yes, "ten mins ago." I left Best Buy having spent $0.00, and proceeded to walk over to Staples (just a few feet away) where they serviced the laptop, at a cost of $120.00. I purchased a laptop case ($39.99), a copy of Office 2016 for Mac ($149.99), Color Ink Cartridge for my HP All-in-one ($89.00) and a few other odds and ends. They did not have the Fitbit in stock. However, when the Holidays are past, I will return to a Staples to purchase one. So, helpful and accommodating service at Staples earned them my business that day and over $420.00. Best Buy's indifference and distracted employees cost them that amount, plus had they had the watch ($199.99). More importantly, they have lost any future business from me. I sure hope the cute blonde in the spandex was able to get her remote control working. read more

They typically carry quality and functional products, if you don't account for future repairs you may need or any matters regarding the warrenty. That is the only reason that I'm giving two stars in this review. The customer service that I received here today, on the other hand, was the worst customer service that I have ever received before. I went in for a scheduled appointment with their Geek Squad, as my computer (which I purchased from the Best Buy website) had a faulty hard drive that needed to be replaced. When I had a question about the warranty, the assistant manager had to come over to answer my question, and that's where the trouble began. He took one look at the top of my computer, which had a single scratch and a few fingerprints, and told me that I'm "abusing the computer", that any issues with the hard drive are my own fault (he didn't even look at anything other than the cover of the computer), and that he's "not willing to help", in his own words. I was absolutely shocked by this experience and will not be shopping there again, let alone working with their Geek Squad for future questions about my many past purchases there. I also had a local tech company run diagnostics on my hard drive, and they've reported that the issues they found on the harddrive are the type that are the result of a faulty device from the time of purchase, but the assistant manager completely disregarded that possibility after a single glance at my computer. read more

Okay, I have to say, this review is based on both being a former employee, and also being a customer. So this is how I'm going to write this review, first from the employee POV Then as a customer. First thing I want to say about the Augusta Best Buy is that what I noticed when I was working there is, it's exactly like high school was, if you're not considered "cool" you're the one who gets stuck with doing all the responsibilities around your department, second some employees are EXTREMELY under appreciated, on some days I was working there I would walk around and see some people with severely depressed looks on their face, when I inquired as to why that was, I was always met with an answer that some member of management was t being fair about the workload, which I can 100% attest to being true. It infuriates me how shitty some of these employees are treated as far as how much of the TEAMS workload they have to do. Second when I was let go for "being absent too much" I would still visit the store from time to time, well I went in one day and spoke with an employee, the employee I spoke with is an honest human being with great morals and ethics, a real stand up guy, he notified me that a manager has stated that I should be thanking him for firing me because if he didn't I wouldn't have my new job, so I took it upon myself to confront the manager who had said the previous statement. I walked into his office said "hi" and let him know how I've been doing etc. after all the greetings etc I asked him if he had said what I was told and he smiled, snickered, and said "yeah, why?" I said, "because technically it's my own fault for being let go, and getting another job, I did this myself and you had nothing to do with it" and after I said that there was no return in words, just a hearty laugh, a few weeks later I return to the store only to be notified by one of the employees that "dude what'd you say to (manager)!?" I explained to them what I said and was met with this response "oh, well they said they won't hire you back because of it now" so in turn they bar me from being employed for such a trivial reason. Let me just point out, it is your moral obligation to be a good human being before anything business. This leads me to doing the customer related side of things.... As the customer, when I walk into Best Buy I feel like I've just walked into a building where no matter what you will always be taken care of, now people, let's remember you will ALWAYS at some point or another going to have to wait for an employee to contact you and help you shop, this is not the Internet gratification is never going to be instant so stop being such douches to the employees please! They are extremely dedicated hard working people who get paid to help people with their needs and it seems as though people take extreme advantage of that. I have never had any issues returning anything WITH A RECIEPT!! (Proof of purchase) I've always been helped very graciously and everyone at that store will go way out of their way to make YOU happy, and I feel like YOU don't realize that sometimes. Please be respectful of employees and remember they get scheduled shitty hours, Most of them don't have forty hour a week jobs so they're stuck working late nights and early mornings. Now, we move to the geek squad counter, and please, brace yourselves....when YOU have an issue with YOUR PC/Mac/smart phone/tablet/printer/stereo/tv and YOU choose to bring it to THEM FOR HELP it'd be AMAZEBALLS if you people could STOP trying to take advantage of the system and stop blaming your issues on them. If you would actually listen to what they tell you before you leave you could actually save yourselves 130-200 dollars !! It's that simple, I've had a PC for 4 years and I've not had any issues with it to date other than updates and that's a whole different story! The geek squad is there to help you, you should SERIOUSLY consider yourselves to so lucky to have such knowledgable and honest and kind people working there for YOU. Keep in mind that if these people had it their way half of them would probably rather not even deal with people as much as possible, but they push their own feelings aside to help others, THAT is how us customers should be. Quit blaming the stores for your screw ups. The end. All in all, I'm giving this store (1464) a rating of three stars because they have great customer service, and because management (not all) need to start figuring out a way to evenly spread the workload in stead of playing favorites. read more

My boyfriend and I made a reservation for getting his screen replaced on his iphone 8. The reservation was for 3:40 pm we arrived on time they took his phone back said 4 hours at the most but probably less. So we killed time in stores around and after 3 hours hearing nothing from them we went back in to check on it around 6:30pm they said the tech was JUST starting on it would be an hour and a half if not TOMORROW... my boyfriend runs a small business and this phone is his only contact he told them he can't be without his phone that long they said no problem. So we went to a park just down the road and received 2 missed calls at 7:30 from the Best Buy number so we rushed back thinking it was ready to go. Get into the store they send out the biggest guy there to tell us he couldn't do it in the time he had left and he knows we needed it back so he just put a screen protector on it for us. He said the kid who took the phone mislead us and pretty much said s*** happens sorry. My boyfriend was livid we had just wasted 4 hours for NOTHING. As we were walking out he couldnt get the phone to unlock and realized this screen protector he put on for us was NOT EVEN FOR AN IPHONE! So we had to carefully peel it off and hope it didnt take any of the screen glass with it. Don't waste your time just go to the Apple Store. read more
