I have been to this Best Buy on numerous occasions and have always found the staff to be helpful and present. Our most recent experience was so positive that the missus even exclaimed "Best Buy is my favourite store!" after having concluded the purchase of her new cell phone. I have come here a few times because it's a Best Buy with plenty of outdoor parking. Unfortunately after shopping here 3 times in the past three months it has been the same experience. They've recently terminated their Rewards Zone and Gamers Club loyalty programs, so shopping there won't earn you any more points and any gift certificates you've earned must be redeemed this November before they expire. On the plus side, they still honor Future Shop gift cards but I'd hurry up and redeem those too just in case they decide to no longer accept them. Still hard to find any sales reps, at least in the games section, even on a slow day. As for their extended warranty, I personally decline it every time and it's my professional opinion that it's a waste of money. If your item is going to break down, it'll do so either within the manufacturer's warranty (which can be extended for another year by paying with a credit card) or well after the extended warranty. Their Geek Squad is also very expensive when it comes to out-of-warranty computer or smartphone repairs, which is why I'd recommend looking to third-party repair shops as they're often just as professional and usually way cheaper, too. They've also started selling furniture and baby accessories. What is going on? Kitchen appliances I can understand, but this? Are they in competition with Babies "R" Us and the Brick, too? Improve your existing revenue streams (to say nothing of customer service) before you start branching out into other areas. No business is too big to fail. Kmart, Eaton's, Sears and Target have proven that. Hope things improve. read more

Then they tell their managers that they never said that. A bunch of two timing reps trying to make it look good on their file. I find it ironic another user posted the same problem just months prior to mine. This place is a joke when it comes to customer service. A lot of workers kind of avoiding helping anyone outside of their department; suffering from tunnel vision. Mostly kids on their first/second job ever, a couple were nice in the past, but most devoid of respect towards strangers or taking something upon themselves to help. It's happened more than once, today irked me enough to write this review and swear off ever going back there. I stood in electronics with my wife looking for help for a minute or so, but no one around. One worker passes by on a task, I ask him if someone could come by, and he said he'll get someone... five minutes later, never happened. A few minutes later some girl walks by, I ask again... she said she'd get someone... a few more minutes later, I just walk up to customer service and ask a third person, who doesn't even speak TO me and instead radios "can we get back up in gaming?" and walks away.... another five minutes, still nobody. We effectively stood around, human fishing, for about 20 minutes. Finally I catch a fourth random worker who answers my question on a guess, wasn't even sure, but I'll be damned waiting another 20 for him to confirm anything with someone else. We just left. Found an unrelated electronics shop and moved on. Such a terrible Best Buy and this experience only confirmed it. Don't go. read more

Went this morning to buy an Apple Ipad , no one available to service but plenty of employees with blue shirts talking in groups. When I approached a couple of these employees, they all gave me the excuse they were busy but I could not see any customers. Went to the customer service desk to complain about lack of service only to be arrogantly told they are to busy instead of making any effort to locate someone to get me an Ipad 9.7. Told them, not a problem walked out and straight to Bureau en Gros around the corner. Not only did I get the Ipad, I also added the apple care and ipad case. The Best Buy in Lasalle is absolutely the worst when it comes to customer service. From now on, I will go out of my way not to buy anything from this store. read more

The 3 stars are for the reservation cashiers. They are always super nice, quick and efficient. As for the staff....very hard to find anyone on the floor, and when you do there is a lineup of people waiting to be served. Thankfully I was able to just use my smartphone to reserve my item and pick it up 20 minutes later. read more

I'd have to give this Best Buy between two and three stars but I'm giving it three because they at least gave me what I wanted. So my Dell Inspiron 6000 that I'd been using all through my four years of college finally hit the dust for good back in February of this year. The need for a new laptop very soon was ever present since I could only use my iPod Touch in my home via WiFi in order to do things online. After some comparative shopping for what was affordable (Apple was out of the question from square one), I finally settled on the HP Pavilion G Series that I am typing this on. It got good reviews and was very reasonably priced. The closest Best Buy to me is this one at Carrefour Angrignon and I chose to use Best Buy since it is an American entity that I know. I took several trips here which was tiresome due to the long Metro ride between this region of Montreal and downtown. First trip was to look at the computer. Finally on my second trip, I came here to buy the computer. This review is mainly directed at the employees. The first employee I worked with was somewhat helpful but didn't seem like the brightest bulb in the pack. It was hard to get him to explain to me a clear answer to my questions. The guy at the Geek Squad who set up my anti-virus stuff and installed the software on the computer I found to be rude and abrasive but at least he did his job ultimately. I only wish they had told me upfront that it would take them a while to getting around to installing my software. I came to the store to buy the computer only to leave without it and have to come back the next day to pick it up. Not the end of the world, but still very annoying as I could hear the sound of my Metro money falling through my pockets. And last but not least, I'll mention that when I was buying the computer, the credit machine wasn't working properly but luckily I wasn't charged 1,000 dollars rather than 500. Generally, I'll come here for my electronics needs if I am so inclined but there are other places like Future Shop, Beureau en Gros, and The Source which are closer. read more

Seriously... we can read... what we thought would happen is, oh I don't know... at least PRETEND that you have seen the products on your shelves and be able to talk about them.... The staff we met were pleasant enough.. just poorly trained. We were ready to drop some serious cash and left with a fraction of what we were planning to purchase and discovered upon returning home that they had given us the wrong product for the one thing we did buy. read more

Fuming mad, went there to buy at 30$ item but couldn't find it, and out of the 8-9 girls/guys who were in that section, absolutely no one wanted to help me because they were all after people who were interested in the big ticket items. I understand they work on commission, but jeez!! I got passed around 3 times, the first guy just said: go look over there (which I already did), second girl said she's busy, and the customer she was "helping" who was looking at an iPad, actually said to her "it's ok, I'm just looking", which we all know is code for "leave me alone", but her response to him was, that's ok, I'll be here to answer any of your questions... Wow... And the 3rd said they don't have it, and when I asked to check in the computer if anyone else has it, he said he's busy... Meanwhile a braver lady went the **** off on them, screaming she got passed around to the 4th person, who is still too busy to attend to people with smaller needs... Koodos to that lady, I can't make a scene ;( I guess if you buy big, they'll be all over you, but don't go there for anything under a 100, they'll avoid you like the plague. read more
