Manager was disrespectful and insisted a defective product less than a year old could not be replaced without an extended warranty. He said I had to contact the manufacturer even though the retailer had plenty of inventory of the product. No help was offered. No store credit was given. I have been a loyal Best Buy customer for years. Not sure what the negative reviews are here. I have not had any problems and been helped by staff every time I have questions. They are great to work with and very understanding for return policies and concerns. Would recommend. Bought an insignia 55 inch fire tv August 3rd. September 1st it's showing a ghost picture ( like a negative from film strip) tried numerous times to call store to only get a call center where English is very bad. Bought a 5 year warranty with tv. Wanted to just take tv back and get credit on a different one. They won't do that so now have to miss work and wait for a repair person! I have a 65 inch TV. I called the Geek Squad to see if they can repair it. Since it is over 42 inches, they have to make a $125.00 in home service call. Then they added more charges which brought the price up to $300.00 PLUS parts and labor. All I need is the part. I found a you tube video that shows how to do the repair myself for less than $30.00 I have all the steps completed except getting the part, which no ne has. They do this so you will give up and buy a new TV. If I do, it will not be the same brand and it will not be from Best Buy. Their prices are too high, their service is too high. All in al it's just about making a lot more money and not caring about the customer. NEXT DAY UPDATE: The automated phone answering computer is extremely difficult to navigate, but after having to shout my answers to it's questions, I was finally able to speak with someone in the Geek Squad who I could actually understand. They did not have my part, but were able to connect me with a parts place who actually did have my part at a good price ($17.00) and are sending it overnight via FedEx. Bought a Samsung Stove from Best Buy, had it for 4 months and the oven is not working. Called Best Buy as it still is under warranty, they said we had to call Samsung direct, we did, they farmed the service to a technician that is 3 hours away. It's been over a month and the oven is still down. Best Buy needs to be more honest if they don't have a service network to repair the appliances they sale, this is unacceptable. We tried to call a local service company and they don't work on Samsung. Furthermore, it appears the stove that was sold to us has numerous issues with the oven. If you buy anything at Best Buy, find out if they can service. This is a poor reflection on their company and their policy of fixing what breaks. read more

I went to go purchase a laptop. I walked in and someone asked if I needed help, I told them yes and what I needed help with and they offered no help. They did absolutely nothing with that information and just sent me on my way. After tracking down a worker by myself a worker said someone would be there shortly. A worker finally came but proceeded to help other people that just showed up even though I waited there for about 15-20 minutes. Decided to leave and take my money elsewhere. We recently moved to fort Riley and went to Best Buy as soon as we got here and bought a washer and dryer ( w delivery, which is my main cause for distress ). We were told they would call us w/in 24/48 hrs. ****5 days later still no call to schedule a delivery. **** The sales associates were all very nice and helpful, and did price matching for us, however, we purchased a washer dryer on the 26th of Sept and it's now October 1st and we have yet to hear from anyone to schedule our delivery. We have called regarding the matter 3 times and apparently the field manager in charge of delivering to Ft. Riley is not responding to anyone regarding our delivery so now that we have spent over $ 1,000 for a washer dryer over a week ago we still have to go to the laundry center to do laundry. I drove from Salina to this Best Buy to purchase a new laptop for the office. Unlike the previous reviewers the minute I stepped into the laptop area I had three different employees within five minutes approach asking if I needed help. To the first to I said no thanks, I knew what I was looking for. I was annoyed when I was asked by the third person and stated that to him. He then said it was to cut down on theft. At that point I lost it, pulled my badge out of my pocket and pointed out that I wasn't there to steal anything. That actually I'm an elected county attorney that actually makes me the top law enforcement officer in my jurisdiction. The employee had enough nerve to continue with his anti-theft speech. The two other things I noticed. My spouse was never approached whom is Caucasian. Second the salesperson missed the Asian couple, the male half was stuffing something in his pocket. I the African American male was the focus of their attention. Stay away from this store if you are of color, no matter how well dressed or mannered you are they assume your a thief. I will never step foot in a Best Buy ever again!!! read more

I've lived in Manhattan most of my life and I've been back and forth on their service the past few years ; I had many issues with my Asus Chromebook and they dropped the ball on making sure I had it in time to leave the country... BUT, my past few experiences have been amazing. I recently went there to get a new phone that was inexpensive but functional. Craig, the mobile supervisor, was a great help to me. He adhered to my price range and didn't try to sell me things I didn't need. We started talking about cameras because I wanted a good camera on the phone [which at my price point is nearly impossible] and he asked questions to get me to the point of what kind of camera I actually had and wanted and the issues I'd had with my SLR - didn't try to sell me a $1500 new Canon, but instead pointed me to a better option with the gear I already owned. He took a good hour and a half serving me and setting me up with my phone and I am very pleased with the experience. #thumbsup read more

I got my husband Call of Duty WWII for Christmas. Well, it turns out I had accidentally gotten the PC version instead of the PS4 version. I believe I even picked it up by the PS4 games. Well, neither I nor my husband noticed that it was a PC game until we opened the case and saw a code instead of a CD. We took the game up to the store to try and exchange it and they told us that they couldn't take back open cases due to people making copies of CD's and codes and such. I told them the code had not been used and that we just opened the case that day. In fact, we COULDN'T have used the code because they also had our only working laptop at the store. They did not even TRY to look up my account and verify the purchase (or my Elite status) and kept saying that was their policy and they could not take it back. A policy which I have NEVER heard of. They basically called us liars. When I asked for a manager the guy brought up a Geek Squad guy who did NOT have a manager name tag at all. When I asked to speak to someone higher up, like a store manager, he refused. I wish I had gotten names. The service was TERRIBLE. We then proceeded to call corporate (which isn't actually corporate, it's just a 1-800 number). They gave us the run around for quite awhile and kept referring me back to the store. I explained to them I already WENT to the store and they were not helpful. Eventually, they agreed to send us a $60 gift card in the mail for the trouble. We'll see if we ever get that as it hasn't been 10 days yet. If you have a choice, go to another Best Buy or just order online. This is the worst one I have ever been to. Also, I have been to the exchange/returns section of the Best Buy site and it says, quote, "Opened computer software, movies, music or video games can only be exchanged for an identical item." Oops, looks like the Best Buy staff doesn't even know their own policies. Absolutely one of worst experiences I have had with any store at the Manhattan Best Buy. Did an in store pick up of a MacBook Pro 15 inch open box purchase. Which is a 2000 dollar computer even with open box. Brought the computer home, which is 1 1/2 hours away from the closest store only to find out that they sold me a busted computer, couldn't even stay on for 5 minutes without crashing. There geek squad guaranteed that all of their open box computers are checked to make sure they are in working order. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT STEPPING FOOT INSIDE THIS STORE. This was quite possibly the worst experience I have had. Customer service was non existant and even when someone did come over they kept pushing me off to someone else who "knew more about computers" This was in the computer department. I used to love best buy and what they stood for. Now I see that this best buy is nothing more than a showroom so I can see what I want to order/buy somewhere else. All I wanted was to install a new CPU. An AMD Ryzen 3500x. I brought it to Geek Squad and dropped it off the first time. I get a call about 45 mins before they close saying that its done. So I go out there and pick it up. When I get home, and plug everything in, nothing works. USB ports aren't connecting, my HDMI or DP ports don't work. So I drop it off again the next day. 3 days go by with no call or update at all. Drive all the way back up there (i live in JC so its a lot of gas). Finally get in contact with someone in person, just to be told that they *think* something is wrong with my GPU, so they have to order a new one. Almost two weeks go by and I FINALLY get it back. I'm being told that my CPU is 'defective', even though it was JUST being used in a previous computer. Now that I have my computer back, they never de-activated or uninstalled programs they were working with (causing tab-outs from my game from 'Windows PowerShell') and my computer seems to be running WAY slower than before, not being able to play the games that I loved before. They messed my computer up big time. I do not recommend going to Geek Squad Manhattan if looking for an install or fix. Your computer will come out worse than before. read more

Do not ask for them to put the Zagg shield on any of your products. 13 days after paying for them to install one on my Apple Watch it began to peel off. I paid them to put it on and am now out of the store time limit so I have to send off to Zagg and am just out the $7.00 I paid for them to put it on. read more
