This is a review on Best Buy online. I went online thinking I would get the Eeros I would need for a mesh network and a bridge for another device. After spending an hour and a half going through the wickets... I was sold these three items and the annual membership as well as for Geek Squad to install and set up a better mesh network as told and sold by the online. He was trying to sell more but I wanted to make sure everything was going to be in good working order. He said you will get a call in two days or less for them to schedule a time and complete the install. Three days went by and I called... since you can't call any of the stores directly. When I called I was told that the Eeros have been back ordered and they did not know how long it would take to get them. I then asked how long have they been backord. I was this has been known for at least two months. I told them what the online sales did. No apology, no nothing I then cancelled everything. Two days later I discovered they had not cancelled the membership. I called again and finally got it cancelled. This is after wasting over five hours in total of my time due to incompetence of the online staff. There is no question I am done with Best Buy. This place has really gone downhill fast. So much for trusting anything that they have to say. read more

You never know the caliber of the sales person who will assist you. Recently I bought a laptop there and the sales person was great! Very knowledgeable. Then I went in a week or two later and bought a printer. The sales rep didn't know jack squat, and he stank! Serious body odor! read more

I had a pair of beats solo 4s and I booked an appointment on that day and they never told us that we have to come there early or they're not early and we waited another week because they told us to wait and my father was busy at the time he had to pick up kids and we waited and they called me and said that my beats was ready to pick up but told me I had to set an appointment to pick them up and I really wasted our time so I like this vibe but maybe we should fix on how we have to wait just to pick up something. read more

2-18-23 So we come here as hubby is locked out of his new IPad. No we don't have an appointment but thought we would give it a shot to try. We waited on line and finally it was our turn we told them our issues and hubby filled out a form. Since you need the IPad to be setup to an Apple computer to be reset this wasn't something we could do. I asked the price and they said no charge as it is a brand new IPad. Definitely liked that price. So they said leave it and come back in an hour which we did and it was ready to go. In a town like Montgomery your Apple choices our limited with the nearest Apple Store hours away. So glad that Best Buy was willing to help. Thank you read more

Specifically relating to geek squad, they cannot fix they told me it was the motherboard I had to pay to have it sent off. It comes back. It still doesn't work. They to tell me it's fixed. It's not fixed. It's still in pieces, they call me to tell me it's fixed again to come pick it up. It's still in pieces. They never it on to see if it works then they say oh we motherboard now it's the hard drive with no documentation that the motherboard is fixed at all. It's a big scam and no one there can fix computers, including Robert the store managers are also clueless.Dont Jake your computers there. read more

I came to this Best Buy today to purchase a laptop, as I inadvertently packed mine to be shipped in my Cross-country trip. Well, all was great initially with Ethan in electronics, until he noticed other guests waiting. I wanted to purchase a laptop and the Microsoft 365. Ethan consistently assisted other customers while I waited for him to ring up my purchases. After waiting for a while, I approached him and asked if he could please ring me up, as I had to attend a meeting (I was only just passing through the state of Montgomery). I also asked if I should just go to another location, at which point he stated that no other location had the computer that I was purchasing (Dell - Inspiring 14 Plus - Copilot+PC - 14" QHD Touch Laptop - Dnapdragon X Plus - 16GB - 512GB SSD - Ice), which of course I didn't believe. So, I asked if he could please assist me, as I was there before all other "potential" customers that he was choosing to assist. He turned to me noticeably irritated and stated, "I'll be with you after I finish answering their questions." I immediately proceeded to the front and asked for a manager. At this point, Robert overheard me and asked if he could assist me. He came and assisted immediately, and after they located the proper computer, I was out the door. Thanks to Robert for saving the day, and my valuable time! I noticed that this location only has 2.4 Stars - I can only assume that the customers who left reviews were initially assisted, and then abandoned by Ethan. It has been two weeks since a family member was rudely mocked and laughed at for trying to make an advertised purchases. I contacted Customer Service and two weeks later....crickets. My sister has done the same and no help for her either. I guess Best Buy thinks their employees laughing at overweight people is acceptable. I totally understand that things happen in business that cannot be avoided, such as employee absenteeism or lack of delivery, however the way you treat your customers should never waiver. There are good reviews on Yelp, so there must be some good folks there, however the environment is one of employee first, customer last. read more

Guest Service/Order Pick Up personnel are extremely rude. Was unable to get a name of the lady that initially spoke to me but she was not professional at all. The gentlemen that actually helped me with my order was ok, however he dragged my tv across the ground as opposed to carrying it or getting assistance if it was too heavy for him. So, my husband and I are disabled. He went in to pickup a television that we had seen advertised. He asked for help and was told to go to the television department and wait. He limped back their and waited and waited and waited. I called to see what was happening and he said that "no one had come back to help." I called the store and was told that they don't allow direct calls to the store. We were stuck. I drove to the front of the store and honked, yes, real "karen" move, I know. Eventually, a young woman came out and asked why I was upset. She offered to get my husband so we could both leave. She did not offer to help with the purchase. My husband came out, got in the car and we left. We had driven thirty miles to this store and left with nothing. He told me that all the clerks had been standing at the front the whole time chatting. Ordered a washer and dryer the first delivery they broke the washer and said they would put on a new delivery for next Wednesday, next Wednesday comes I call to check up and there is no where shouts for my delivery so they tell me o can't get one till Friday I wait till Friday and I'm now told that there aren't anymore in stock . Great delivery team! Jerrod and Jamel came by to pick up a return and to drop off + install a washer and dryer. They called to let me know they were on the way and arrived at the promised time. I expected the whole process to take a pretty long time since there were two heavy, large machines that needed to be returned, on top of the drop-off with the installation. However, I was completely wrong. The pickup & return, drop off & installation was completed within 30 minutes of arrival! The communication, service, and friendliness were on point. Do not actually carry the laptops in store. You have to buy offline and then bring it to the store to get the programs you need installed. Waste of tmy time and milage. Just buy off line. It's cheaper. read more

This store has very friendly staff that is knowledgeable in phones and phone plans. I recently bought a new iPhone and these people made me happy when I left. It took about 45 minutes to get my new phone activated but definitely worth it. Next time you are in need for phone and phone service check Best Buy out. read more

I bought a Laptop 5 Months ago and I have started to Have an Issue with it not powering up when plugged in, the hinges are kinda loose and 2 of the rubber grips on the bottom are gone... i have the Best Buy coverage on it so decided to bring it in. The Geek Squad guy plugged it in and it powered on(great). He said he could not take it cause there is nothing wrong with it. HHMMMMMM..... Why did I pay for the coverage? I have a problem, a few mechanical issues and you cant take it in? How does he know nothing is wrong with it when no real diagnostic or inspection was done? just plugged it in and said thats it.... Terrible service. Every time I've made the mistake of visiting this location, the sales people are less than helpful - if they even acknowledge customers. I went in to buy a camera and couldn't get anyone to help me - although a gaggle of employees were hanging out, joking around, and being inappropriate near by. Even the genus bar folks are unhelpful. I took my laptop in one day because it wouldn't turn on - the guy told me my laptop was fried after he tried to charge it. Took it elsewhere for a second opinion and it just needed a new charger. I buy all my tech related items at the Montgomery location. Never a problem. I had bought a rather expensive earbud set and it quit working. I had purchased the extended warranty which was less than 10$. So I took the earbuds back and was politely told to go get another unit and I could upgrade if I wanted to and just pay the difference. I went with the same unit for an even trade easy as that. to my surprise the pleasant young lady informed me that the warranty was renewed and I had an additional 2yr coverage on my unit. After a bad experience at this store six years ago, I only reluctantly came in when I ran out of options and couldn't find a replacement power cord for my iMac anywhere. They pointed me in the right direction, I found the perfect thing, grabbed an Otterbox for my iPad and got a huge discount at checkout due to the salesperson taking the time to run a price check. Roughly five minutes of my life that it took to run in and out that day erased six years' worth of dissatisfaction. My grandmother has been having trouble with her computer so of course we take it to get looked at at Best Buy because we had bought it there. We go in and begin to talk to this guy who would not give us his name and he preceded to basically call my grandmother stupid and tell her to lower her voice when she was just asking him a question! I spent the whole entire day taking off from work & school for them to come & these asshole never showed up. So I do not recommend the best buy in Montgomery al. They have the worst customer service. When I went in to look at washers & dryers they didn't even acknowledge me why in the hell do I have to ask someone for help when I'm the only person in the area looking & you are doing nothing at all? My husband is military, so we often use Yelp in new cities to give us an idea of where to go, or where to not go....we were in the market for a new laptop, and after lots of research had decided on one. When we got on the Best Buy website we were a little nervous during the review reading because they were AWFUL!!! We decided that it didn't matter because we knew exactly what we wanted, knew it was in stock, and would just have to go in, grab the item, and leave immediately. So, we had a plan and off we went.....we walked into the "laptop section" where we were pleasantly greeted by a young man who asked us if we needed any help. We told him that we didn't, found our product, played with it for a few minutes, talked about it and then asked him to retrieve said laptop for us all within about 10 minutes. He rang us up and we left. THE END, or so it would be in anyone else's life. NOT OURS.....we got home, plugged that brand spanking new laptop in and turned it on with excitement and wonder. The excitement didn't last long, as it was soon replaced with horror. This laptop sounded like an airplane that was preparing for takeoff. IT WAS INCREDIBLY LOUD!!! How was this not mentioned in any of the reviews we had painstakingly poured over??? After a quick google search specifying "loud fan in xyz model" it became apparent that this was a known problem. I was sure we were going to have to pay some ridiculous restocking fee, and had planned on asking to speak to the manager, and the manager's manager, and prepared my husband for the embarrassment of his wife pitching a temper tantrum at the customer service desk.....We get back to Best Buy about two hours after we had left, and I had my war face on. We were directed to the customer service desk by the man standing at the door greeting customers, and were then greeted by a very nice young man who promptly completed our return without any silly questions. We then went back to the "laptop section" where we were greeted by a very nice young lady who over the next (at least) one hour answered multiple questions, proposed questions that we hadn't even thought of, left us alone to talk, but always seemed to know when to come back because we had thought of more questions. She assisted my husband and I while simultaneously assisting two other families who seemed equally as clueless as us, and somehow seemed happy to do so. We left with our new decision, and on the way home were laughing about how we had one of our best customer service experiences at a store that had such deplorable reviews, and how we had gone in with our guard up, and been VERY pleasantly surprised. I am upgrading my home theater by replacing my 7.1 AV Receiver which is a quality product manufactured by Marantz but I wanted a bit more than it's 85 Watts RMS per channel and I wanted to gain other options than the Apple Airplay that the Marantz has. After holding on the phone for 17 minutes and 23 seconds for an audio salesman I hung up and went on line and bought the receiver I wanted. It seems there is a new dominant culture at Best Buy and unfortunately it permeates much of Montgomery, Alabama's brick and mortar retail. They could care less as long as their check gets deposited on payday. I mentioned my experience to a friend and he said it was a good thing I hung up and didn't waste my time with them on the phone had they answered. Seems he just bought a 70 inch smart TV and had shopped at Best Buy among others. He went on to say the salesperson did not know the product's features or what the specs on the item even meant. "Hope you don't own any Best Buy stock.", was his parting comment. read more

I bought my laptop at BestBuy, so when I started to have a problem I took it back there to have it serviced. This entire store needs customer service training. I called the store and asked for the Geek squad, I was told "they were too busy to come to the phone", so I proceeded to go into the store with my laptop. No one ever said that you had to have an appointment before the Geek squad would even acknowledge your existence. I finally got one of them to speak to me, and was told of the appointment, I made one immediately and sat down to wait for it as it was only 30 minutes. I waited an hour. They took my laptop and I told them what kind f problem I was having. They said to me that they MIGHT have to take a program or 2 off to make the repairs I needed, and I said OK. When I got my laptop back they made me sign a paper that said I was satisfied with all repairs, this was before I ever powered it back up. I told them I was NOT comfortable signing that, and they said I could not have my laptop unless I signed it. Well I got home and they had taken EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM OFF, I only had factory settings. I was livid. Some of those programs I had hundreds of dollars for, like the Microsoft Office products, and several other things. I have had to take this laptop back several times to MAKE them make this right. When I called about this initially, I was told that they had parked those programs in "the cloud" and I could reload them. Only the things that were free could I retrieve. The high dollar ones could not be retrieved. So I took it back and made them fix it. Yesterday I found out that they had even taken my printer app off and I tired to put it back on and cannot. I am going to have to go back and fight with them again. If you are having computer issues DO NOT GO TO BEST BUY, even if you bought it there!!!!!!! This place has wasted so much of my time and caused me too much stress, if I could wave a wand and make them disappear I would do. As I said they need customer service training.
