Understanding that businesses are extremely behind in work I did not fault them for not starting around the time that they stated they would. My quote included pressure wash of the entire house exterior and one of two decks as well as deck stain and paint trim (to trim that was wood). We conversed with each other to verify colors. I reached out to inform them that the deck was not pressure washed. They gave me a response indicating when it might get done. My deck was NEVER pressure washed prior to the stain application. I'm sure this must play into the fact that there are areas that are not evenly stained (or brush vs sprayer??). They specifically asked me for the color of my trim. I informed them that it was an off white/cream color. They stated they would color match. Not only was the metal on my house painted (which I did not want to have happened) but it was painted stark white! Additionally they did not paint ALL of the metal trim. The trim along the top edge on every side was not done. Which, if it was the correct color, wouldn't matter but because it isn't, it stands out like a sore thumb. There was damage to the trim around one of my second floor windows. The strapping along side the fireplace was also not replaced even after I raised this as an issue. The amount of paint chips that were left following the house being pressure washed was outrageous! If I had known that this was going to happen, I may have been able to prepare more appropriately. I have damaged plants; burnt grass from paint on my lawn, random rags left behind etc. The list continues. While the painting itself was done well; all of these other factors have overshadowed the good work. It would have been nice for someone to check in when the job was complete to ensure we were satisfied. None of this happened. I can not provide a positive review nor do I feel comfortable recommending this business to others moving forward. I emailed them to articulate my concerns and I received no response.

We were planning on refinancing to take advantage of rates that were still low, and I thought that if I worked hard enough, I'd have it all in the bag in a matter of a few weeks. The problem is I kept uncovering new issues. After a couple of weeks I felt a growing sense of being overwhelmed. So finally near the beginning of May, I called Team Handyman. Tom came out and assessed the situation. I could tell that he knew what he was doing. A couple of days later came a very detailed estimate broken down by task. I picked the most pressing issues to address, and after relaying this to Team Handyman, they gave us a start time of the beginning of the following week. The following Monday, at 8:00 am sharp, Scott pulled in with his truck, and I have to say I've never met anyone more friendly or enthusiastic. His first words to me after rolling out from behind the wheel were a boisterous "Good morning, sir!" - with a hearty fist bump. This was no perfunctory salutation, this was genuine. Of course it would be all for naught, if not for the quality of his work - which was exemplary. And he was quick too ... and very focused. Yet any time I cared to check to see how things were proceeding, he stopped and gave me a detailed overview of how he was attacking the problem areas. It's great when it's so obvious how much someone loves his work. His most impressive accomplishment - at least in my case - was the replacement of rotted sill along one of the garage walls. Splashing water over the years had really made a mess of things, and this was one of the most dismaying discoveries I had made after doing some digging. But Scott managed to clear out the rotted sill, jack up the garage just enough to replace it section by section and then replace the lower foot or so of the outer paneling using PVC board. It came out beautifully - wish I could post a picture. Within three days everything we had requested to be done - was. And it was under the quote. Scott came by on day 4 (Thursday) for a couple of hours just to make some last finishing touches. We soon after passed a VA appraisal with flying colors. Thanks, Team Handyman!

Magicians with flawed dry wall! Shawn and Shaun worked their…read moremagic on the poorly done dry wall and skim coating in our family room. Half of the walls had new dry wall, half had a textured paint with a finger painting design (from the former owner) and the ceilings had new dry wall to cover popcorn ceilings. Our dry wall guy left us with skim coating that had "fish eyes" or little bubbles throughout the walls and ceiling. Some of the drywall tape was puckered etc.  It took lots of skilled skim coating, sanding and painting to repair our walls and ceiling. Sloan Painting is a pleasure to work with.
