I was so impressed that I took several of his business cards, which I have begun sharing with my neighbors. On Monday, February 9, 2026, I called Mr. Derrick Mosley about fixing a leak in the ceiling of my primary bathroom. He answered the phone himself and was very friendly. I told him my problem and he agreed to come out the next day. He arrived on time and was very personable. While standing in my backyard, I pointed out the problem area to him. Then he proceeded to do something none of the other roofing contractors had done, he took out his ladder and actually went up on the roof to inspect it. To my surprise, he couldn't find the problem, he said that the roof appeared to be in good shape and that the boot was not dry rotted, contrary to what I had been previously told. Something else that I appreciated was that he took the time to inspect the other boot, which was also in good shape. He surveilled the whole roof and said that it would be good for probably another 5 years or so, but wouldn't survive a hail storm. When I asked him the cost of fixing it if it had actually needed the boot and valley shingles replaced, his quote was 25% of the cost of the highest estimate. During the visit, I asked him to look at my gutters on one end of the house that were too high for us to inspect or clean ourselves. When he said that they needed cleaning, I commented that I would have to pay someone to do the job and he offered to do it himself on the spot. He actually took a few minutes to clean them out with his bare hands for a prospective customer who turned out not to need his services!! I'm so grateful to him for that kindness. You can be sure that when my roof finally does need to be replaced, I will be calling him to take care of it!
