They were so accommodating with my request, I got to come by right after I got off! Plus with the promo they have if you book online through their website it's the best deal in town. So I'm already giddy but the drive out there can be daunting when you live in town so I'm lowering my expectations. The woman who greeted us was so chipper and kind and we quickly got whisked to the back while they filled hot tubs to soak your feet. I wasn't sure what to dress down to but the women were so professional so even though there was a bit of a language barrier they made sure I was comfortable. The massage itself was wonderful, started out so relaxing I almost fell asleep (a pet peeve of mine I try to avoid, I want to be present for my enjoyment!) and then when she started working on my back/neck/shoulders I was amazed at my masseuse's strength! I prefer deep tissue because I associate the slightly painful pressure with the satisfaction of breaking my knots but she was intentional and focused on working them out with deliberate applied pressure. It wasn't painful so I wasn't sure how I'd feel afterwards...I was hoping she'd really crack my neck or something, it'd been so tight for the past month! But she must've known what she was doing because 6 hours later there's still no pain, no soreness, I can twist my back and neck and no twinges or resistance! My aching back really appreciated that great customer service. The location is homey and the studio I was in was spacious with a nicely appointed sitting area. The massage table was comfortable and had an awesome armrest under the headrest that I'd never seen before. My massage therapist Kara was wonderful. She was easy to talk to and I was quickly able to communicate where the worst of my knots were. An hour was nowhere near enough to untangle me, but she was able to hit every major problem area I had asked for and she showed me a couple knots I didn't know I had! It's easy to get to from the freeway, and parking is super easy (except on Thursdays from 12:30-3:30 - street cleaning). She is so affordable that it really enables almost anyone to incorporate massage into their lives on a regular basis instead of sporadically. However! Don't let her rates fool you. This is a woman who is dedicated to the practice and lives accordingly; she is affordable because she believes that money shouldn't be the issue keeping people from taking care of themselves! She is strong and soft in all the right places and at all the right times. She really takes her time going deeper and staying longer in the areas that need more attention, and her intuition as to where these places are is spot on! Additionally, I never feel rushed or hurried to leave as I have with other therapists that practice out of their home. After such a short time together she has completely gotten in tune with my body. This past week I left her place feeling like I was glowing and vibrating and could peacefully and gracefully accept any experience that came up, from the stresses of daily city living to the intensity of birth.
