Trusty Yelp pointed me to a few finalists, and Aaron Kes was one of a few who was willing to take a job on Easter Sunday. Aaron graciosuly agreed to meet us in North Scottsdale, and arrived promptly. Being a former photog myself, I'm always interested to talk gear. No doubt Aaron has the newest and, in my opinion, the best gear. The Canon 5D III paired with the 50L prime. Perfect combo, and the results were awesome and tack sharp. Aaron was patient with the family, especially the two little girls who were not feeling photogenic on this day. His style is more the traditional style so if you like classic and timeless, Aaron is your man. The finished product was prompt and came out very nice. His eye and technical skills are excellent, which showed up in the tough backlit tree shot attached below. That said, I would have liked to see a few more different perspectives in his shots, especially with the little ones and with Aaron being a tall guy. Lastly, Aaron is definitely a great value ($350 for family shots), which is an amazing deal coming from the SF Bay Area. Look no further - if you're in the Valley, book Aaron Kes.

True, I have a bias, I recognize that . That aside, the pictures were wonderfully framed, they were so well composed I couldn't pick a favourite. Each one captured the emotion we felt, and did it so elegantly. I wanted to print each and every one! Each one was timeless (to us) and each one was just perfect. Our friends also commented on how beautiful the images were and they were! Putting aside the fact that pictures were just sublime for a moment, what else makes this a 5 star experience. Stephanie was responsive, communicative and thoughtful in our conversation. She was available via email and telephone and replied more swiftly than I would have even expected. She not only came thru with helpful suggestions for the day, but took time to come early and help me figure out what the heck to do when my original plan fell thru for a lack of attentiveness on my part. There is something to be said for the expertise and quick thinking on her part which enabled the day to go thru smoothly. While I would have gladly paid a lot more for the pictures, and it is hard to put a price to such a wonderful moment in our lives, I must say she is very reasonably priced. So great price, great communication, great results. My only grief here I could not give them more stars than just five.

I think knowing that it was going to be expensive from the get go helped because if I hadn't known, I would've been shocked. But professional photography is pretty expensive all around so...I think for the discount I got, and the great experience I had, it was worth it! I think bring more transparent about the pricing on the website would help people decide if this is a company they want to work with or not. It is kind of hard to tell from their website approximately how much you will spend; I had to dig around for some reviews to get an idea beforehand. All in all tho, I had a great experience at the photoshoot AND while viewing/selecting my photos. They offer payment plans to help you break down your cost into more manageable chunks. When I went online and scheduled a day/time, there was only one available spot and I figured I had to make it work. The company called me and I had to put down $50 to hold that spot and they explained to me about a boudoir shoot and what was expected as far as outfits and makeup/hair. I was fine with all of that and yes they did then explain to me that I would receive 2 free prints with my "free photo shoot" but after the photo shoot I would have a photo viewing session when they would then go over purchasing other photos with me. So yes I was at this point understanding that I would have to make a purchase if I wanted the other photos. The day comes and I am so excited. I do my hair and makeup and I've purchased new lingerie. I work really hard to get my fiance out of the house so I have my space to get ready and pack up to leave. I really enjoyed my photo session. My photographer was amazing and made me feel very comfortable. However, when I asked her about prices and what to expect, she couldn't answer anything except when I have my photo viewing session, they will go over all of that. They had totally left her in the dark as well. So at this point, I am completely unknowledgeable to prices or that I'm about to get metaphorically raped. When the day comes to have my viewing session, they don't even allow for you to click through your own photos at your own leisure! I had to talk to someone on the phone while they do a screen mirroring and you basically have to beg to go back and see pics or zoom in or anything. Without them fully explaining prices, they only tell you what you will save with your "free photo shoot", they get pushy and make you get excited and then you go through the hassle of narrowing down your photos, just for them to tell you it will be over $2,000! This was for like 32 pictures!!! So then you make it clear that you can't afford that and the sales person gets short and "tries to help you" but in reality they are just trying to make you see how you are "saving" money. Finally I ask about digital prints and of course NOW they want to say that is an option, except really they don't save you any money. By the time everything was said and done, I verbalized that I was happy with basic editing and the higher editing on 1 or 2 other photos I had chosen. So I chose my 2 free prints and then 32 digital copies. Almost $2,500 and I had to divide it up over 4-5 bi weekly payments because who has that sort of money to just throw away on photos? When I was discussing an album it was going to cost me that much so in the end I still got scammed and they are sly AF! If it wasn't for the fact that I had put in so much time and energy to look my best for the photo shoot for my fiance, I would had told them to take their pics and shove them where the sun don't shine. This place is a rip off. You can go to so many other photographers and get BETTER photos, more creative, and they would include hair and makeup! I tell everyone to stay away from this place because of course "winning" a "free photo shoot worth $865"(or whatever) sounds good but they fail to mention that they will put you in debt! This place needs to check themselves. No photos are worth that much
