Best Value came to our home within a few hours after contacting them on a Sunday night to service a heat pump we had installed by another HVAC contractor that had been locally owned but aligned with the Dark Side 5 years ago. Our wonderful Best Value tech identified and corrected several faults associated with the original installation and showed me as I was in the crawlspace under our home with him that the system controls were still had their factory settings and had not been adjusted or balanced to the old and smaller ducting system that was installed when our beachside home was constructed 74 years earlier. The original installer claimed that the fan coil in the air handler was almost totally clogged with debris and required a $4,800 cleaning and that another component on the outdoor unit - the condenser had a part that was about to fail with replacement of a part available for $30 on Amazon and their price for the part and installation $2,300. Our Best Value tech showed me the inside of the air handler and I saw that as he described it as the fan coil was almost factory new clean. I am grateful that most of the Best Value tech's costs were covered under my Daikin extended warranty. My cost to have my heatpump working better than ever was $163.00. The original installer told me my 5 year old system was obsolete and would be more expensive to repair than replace. AA had a great reputation for decades but other online reviews show similar examples of customer abuse. I now have the number to contact Best Value along with their name on our thermostat. read more

Beware!!! Bought a whole new system. 6 months later, they say i have to pay $300 for a three year warranty through them or unit not covered. This guy, yearly service guy comes out and tells me bulb out he can change for $180, i tell him it was on yesterday he says well not today. I tell him dont worry about it. After he leaves i take unit apart to check bulb, he unplugged it. I plugged in, it worked fine. These people are crooks, my father had similar problems. Do not use!!!! read more

On our routine service, Paul Johanson couldn't have been nicer. Our system was very old and he pointed out the benefits of a new system, plus the vent where our filter goes was falling apart besides being in an awkward position. He had his crew out the next day and even though the work was having to be done in a small awkward attic - they did it. They covered floors so no tracks were left. They were very polite. Plus they changed the way I had to change the air filter. Sooo much easier. Bless these guys. read more

Should be called worst value. They installed a new leaking unit in attic and will not take responsibility for the damage it made. They tried to charge me and are now accusing me of the leaking unit. This is by far the worst company you could choose if you wanted help with your AC. We bought our house last April and as soon as summer hit could tell our unit was cooling efficiently, even though it was only 2 years old. BV installed the system and had the maintenance agreement on it since 2014. They came out to our house 5 times if i remember correctly, said everything was running fine, changed a filter and a breaker, and called it a day. Nothing ever fixed that actual issue of the inside of the house constantly being about 4 degrees above whatever the thermostat was set at. To top it off, they constantly pushed for a renewal agreement although they never fixed our issue. Blamed the issue on electrical. Electrician came out and said there was no problem. Fast forward to this year, they come out for the annual service and the technician snapped at my three year old son while I was standing there. My toddler was trying to get his attention and he felt that it was his place to parent my child and told him to be quiet while he does business. Then when he saw my face he apologized and said sometimes kids need to be put in their place by someone other than their parents. I called to discuss his inappropriate behavior with the office and the lady said the owner would call me back. She never did. Three days ago our AC went out completely. House was 95 degrees!! I did not call BV because they never fixed the issue from the previous summer, but I called Air Current instead and they diagnosed and fixed the entire problem within 2 days. Turns out, when BV did the installation, they only left a 6 x 6 inch area for cold air to enter our house above the inside unit. The area should have been about 12 x 12 or larger. When we opened it up, the wall was covered in mold and mildew from the air being trapped. And our capacitor was faulty - which BV never told us even though they had placed a hard start unit on the machine. I called BV today to inquire about this stuff and let them know another company was able to tell me these issues right away, and the woman who answered the phone was really argumentative and got a completely rude attitude with me when I asked for the owner to call me back. read more
