He came to our home on time and did a thorough walk around our home and gave us a detailed bid. For reference we had most of our siding replaced, and the entire outside of our home painted, including front door, gutters, along with some other repairs. I found Jose and crew, to be professional at every turn, I liked that he had a detailed contract and several options for payments. His price was fair after receiving another bid. It is a lot of trust having work done in and around your home, Jose met and exceeded my high expectaions of doing an excellent, and detailed job. He takes pride in his work. Communication was seamless throughout the project, that is important to me, he even answered the phone when I was calling him while at the paint store getting a sample to try a color out. This has been the Best Company I have ever worked with as it pertains to working with the various…read moreTrades (Architecture, Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical and Structural). They are the contractor with all the trades who are subsidiaries to them. They worked with us to design our entire project and build to what was designed. As we started talking to People Come First originally, Denny our salesman, was a huge help in coordinating our project kick-off and helping us keep the design within reason and had a great personality during the entire process. The communication was great and the workers doing the work were meticulous in building to "MAKE IT RIGHT" or "DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME". Jack and Edwin were the main builders of the structures and hardware installation. When Christian filled in, he continued the expert workmanship for not working 100% on the project. All of these guys are responsible for the workmanship in the pictures. They continued to work with us when unforeseen issues arose so we could resolve them immediately. Having a project manager there really helped for us to understand why things had to be a certain way and, in the end, it made it safe and built right. Thank You Mario for being there to keep the project moving forward. During the construction phase we had various inspection signoffs required by the City and every inspection passed with Zero rework or corrections. In fact, the inspectors stated during the various inspections how much quality they were seeing in the work; this included the electrical. The electrical guys, Don and Ace had to run over 80 feet of a 125A line from the original circuit breaker for our heaters, outlets, light and fans. They also corrected the original wiring for my outdoor lights and fountain that was installed. All these items passed inspection with no findings from the Inspectors. What about the Costs? We had multiple change orders because of upgrades we decided to include so we increased the original cost by about 35%. It wasn't cheap, but if you are only looking to spend $50K-80K for a complete area that is 22x16 you will get what you pay for in the long run. The materials they used were also quality. They did not get any of the wood or structural hardware from HD or Lowz. It was delivered by a reputable small company here in my area and who most locals go, to get quality wood and beams. I would recommend them to anyone, but if you are looking to save money, then they are probably not your first choice. If you want a no hassle company that provides workmanship and cares about the outcome and reputation, then have People Come First (PCF) build your dream deck. They also have a model set-up in Kent off Central if you want to see what they do, or you can see some of my pictures of their work. To end, the best part is the 5 Year Warrantee of their work and continued communication on our Project.

My husband and I moved to our new home from out of state about three months ago. We needed the…read morehouse re-carpeted and re-painted. After doing due diligence online and speaking with various painters and painting companies we selected Barmack. It is a third party company so they do not do the painting themselves but rather they hire outside small groups of painters to do the work. After many emails and much correspondence between myself and Barmac, everything was set and ready to go. They painted the house prior to our arrival and, at first glance, it was absolutely beautiful. The painters did a great job of putting paint on the walls. Unfortunately there were a lot of errors that were made in terms of trim. Some doors and trim were given one paint of white over green trim instead of two, nicks showed through to the green, even though they assured me that walls and trim would receive at least two coats of paint. It seemed there was a further breakdown in communication in terms of which part of this 3200 ft.² home needed the trim to be painted. Very confusing because I remember speaking to the male owner initially that I wanted all the trim to be painted. I think at one point he managed to convince me that some of the trim did not need to be painted. Since I was not there I relied heavily on his expertise. I shouldn't have done that because then it was glaringly obvious the trim that wasn't painted was all scuffed up from years and years of living. The basic color scheme of the house is white and off-white. Had I'd been there in person I would have made sure that they understood that I needed all the trim throughout the house to be painted. But, I was not. Then there were rooms that needed the wallpaper to be painted over. There are vertical lines in different rooms where the wallpaper still shows through. Also, above the top edge of the carpet you can see a green continuous line throughout the house where the green trim used to be. Now the carpet folks came in after the painters. So it's ultimately not the painter's fault for why those lines were there as the new carpet has a shorter pile, and they only painted down as far as the top edge of the pre-existing carpet. I think that if it were my job, even though it wasn't my fault, I would've still made sure those lines were painted over. Because more important than anything else is that the customer is happy. It is my creed and the way I have lived my life. It is exactly the way I used to treat my clients. Contradictions occurred. One of the owners blamed the carpet layer immediately for the scuffed-up trim in two of the bedrooms.But it was not the carpet layer's fault, it was because of the fact that the rooms had never been painted in the first place. These are things I've had to thread through, many-layered, and I'm sure there was more that went on that was not disclosed.. Also, contradictions between the female owner and the gentleman that she shares partnership with. On the one hand he would say that the customer always comes first. But she made a point to show me where I was wrong, and that no matter what they did to correct things that I would still be unhappy. I would never speak to a client in this manner. Ever. Look, this project was just too large, too expensive, and there were too many moving parts for their boutique, 3rd party company. She further went on to say that she had never had so many communications with a customer before for a job. These conversations were completely unnecessary. If she were the kind of business owner that the bottom line was if I'm going to charge you a ton of money to paint your house, then, I will do everything in my power to make sure you are happy. If I would've needed to pay some to help things out I would've been happy to, if she had turned out to be the kind of person that I would want to continue working with. They assured me that they would come back to fix only the areas they were responsible for. Some of the things would have been the responsibility of the movers, some of the mistakes would be the carpet layer, and what they deemed was their fault they would take care of. They promised they would call me to address their third but never did. Not reliable. But since I found the whole negotiation so exhausting and not worth the fight, I really didn't care at that point.
