Having my exterior walls insulated with NW Insulation really could have not gone better. First, I had the estimator come out just a couple days after I called, he spent an hour or so going over my house & checking the insulation and then figured out the estimate. I was shocked, with the PSE rebate, which NW Insulation takes care of, the estimate was thousands less than I thought it would be! I signed up, and a day or so later I got a call to schedule the install, again, surprisingly, they could do it right away and I scheduled for about a week out. The installers got to my house about 8am and were very polite and professional. They basically worked all day, got the job done, and were on their way. They left everything clean and it is amazing to me how the house looked when they were done. They blew in the insulation from the exterior and the method that they used left no trace, they removed a course of siding, drilled holes, filled the walls, plugged the holes, and replaced the siding. You can't even tell that they were there. I have only had a few hot days to determine if there has been an improvement and honestly it really does seem to stay cooler inside, looking forward to winter for the real test. All in all, this has been a great experience, I very highly recommend NW Insulation for your project. read more

Make sure you check every aspect of your project once the crew is done and make sure nothing was damaged or left a mess. Crews seem to be in a hurry miss things or don't do it at all. Check to make sure youre getting the correct fiberglass, foam depth or blow depth. read more

Had water and some saturated ducting insulation in crawlspace. Had them.out for a bid to resolve. They did the work to resolve it, apparently with a one year warranty. Representative was confident and work was done to the tune of $6000+. Periodically checked immediate area and had exterminators down there bi-monthly with reports of minor moisture but overall OK. Orkin sent out a guy to perform an inspection and he reported the exact situation I paid to resolve. It was beyond 1 year but it is obvious they did not perform work I was promised. I asked them to honor the warranty 22 months after work, which I do know is beyond, but it is clear that they did not do work promised and I believe they should back up their work. read more

They sent a salesperson out to my house who went through the attic and crawlspace and gave me the cost for the job. When the crew showed up, they told me there were issues in the attic and crawlspace that would cost me more money. This should have been caught by the salesperson. This felt very much like a bait and switch. Beware for them to give you a low bid and raise the price when they arrive to do the work. Edit: After follow-up discussion with the company, I no longer believe this was a bait and switch, just poor communication from the woman in the office, the original estimator, and the people on-site who showed up to do the work. We had a crawl space clean up and new insulation and moisture barrier installed. From the estimate to job completion the employees did a great job. If I could take off half a star, I would for the less than perfect clean up at the end. Had insulation NW remove the insulation from my crawl space. I had that insulation installed a few years ago by their competitor and the competitor did a horrible job !! A 12 year old could've done it better. I was never happy with it so had Insulation NW remove it and also removed the old vapor barrier and sealed my ducting and installed new vapor barrier. My crawl space is very tight and it was a face in the dirt job. The 2 guys that did the work did an amazing job considering how tight my crawl space is. I highly recommend this company. A couple of weeks ago I contacted Tacoma Public Utilities about their residential insulation incentives to find out if I qualified for assistance getting my crawlspace insultation redone as it had all fallen down in the past 20 years (we purchased this older Tacoma home in late 2006). I qualified and was provided with a list of Tacoma Power participating contractors to look through, do my own evaluation of, and contact two or three of them from which to get bids. After reading reviews, checking Better Business Bureau, looking at posted photos, and verifying they were a local company I selected Insulation Northwest as a solid candidate. I called their office and the pleasant lady who answered confirmed they were familiar with Tacoma Public Utilities promotions and scheduled Keith to come out and provide a bid. Keith arrived exactly on time and was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He provided a bid in a timely manner and answered a couple of follow-up questions (via text) promptly over the next couple of days. After reviewing the bids from the candidate companies I selected Insulation Northwest and am quite pleased to state that it was an excellent choice on my part. I was asked what day would work for me and the crew (Oscar, David, Merlin, Carlos R and Carlos RR) showed up on time and ready to work first thing in the morning. They pulled out all the 45-year-old nasty insulation, carefully bagged it up, loaded it onto their truck, and then installed new insulation with stouter retaining wires. They also replaced the vents with rodent proof screening and installed a removable door into the crawlspace. As conclusive proof of solid work performance I was provided with three photos of a weeping water pipe that they had discovered. Upon timely completion the work area was cleaned up, my questions answered and I have one less crawlspace issue to fix on our home. In short, I highly recommend Insulation Northwest. I had an issue with my roof where I noticed soft spots on it that were ultimately caused by a lack of proper attic ventilation causing moisture buildup in the attic, and Insulation NW came out, added more ventilation, coordinated the appropriate remediation specialists (even letting me invoice one of them together with Insulation NW directly to make my life easier), and was all around a great help. We had Insulation Northwest airseal and insulate our attic, they did a quality job and we're pleased with the result. So we were later happy to hire them again to insulate the underside of the cantilevered portion of the house over the carport. Insulation Northwest did foam insulation and the floor of the room over the carport now stays a normal temperature rather than becoming frigid in the winter. We're very satisfied. We recently had Insulation Northwest come out to give a quote on blowing in insulation to our exterior walls, after we discovered they weren't insulated. Our walls are lath and plaster and we were grateful for the honesty and straightforwardness of the assessment of the feasibility of the project given the construction of our house. I got in touch with the manager and explained the problem. He agreed we had been treated badly, but insisted the estimate couldn't be honored. Not off to a good start and I'm glad we found out early on. We had a person come out to do a quote for our 30-unit townhome community and never received a quote. I was out of town and so had to reach out as it's been over 30 days since the site visit. Once we received the quote, it was very vague and random and there was no breakdown as to the scope of work. Wasn't going to leave a review but was told I would be contacted by a manager, we'll here we are. I've been using insulation nw for many years matt the outside salesman and the ladies in the office have always been awsome and deserve 5 stars. Not all jobs go smoothly but the ladies and Matt always try to make it right. This last job was was a doozy, knob and tube suspected asbestos the works took multiple subs and a month or so. Even had a representative from insulation nw come and inspect and give an ok to move forward. The crew came out started the pipe wrap and the ground cover, mind you it was a day early but they started anyways. 10 min in they were out of the crawl throwing a fit, seems there was a piece of tape left underneath the vapor barrier and a partial wrap on boot extending through the floor that everyone missed or just left because it was ok. They showed the pictures and left. They weren't there to Insulate the floor just the brand new pex plumbing and remove the vapor barrier, which is bagged but left in the crawl space, the foam crew was scheduled for the following day. What ever stuff happens. i get revered the lead supervisor who should not be in that position, argued with me told me they can't work on a house that might have asbestos in the building materials, which eliminates darn near every house before the 80s and that they will not be able to complete the job, he was rude called the home owner and myself a liar didn't offer to visit the site didn't offer a solution just said couldn't help us out. The only issue we had is scheduling that they changed the dates but didn't inform us, so we were taking the day off waiting for them at home but nobody showed up.
