On our drive up from LA to Sonoma County, we ended up spending more time than planned in Pasadena (our old town before moving North 10yrs ago). ETA was 1:11am when we left Dena, but we had 2 toddlers, 10yr old and 4 adults and had to stop for bathroom breaks and snacks enough times to put us at 4am arrival back home. So we ended up getting 2 rooms for the night, this was the closest thing we found. We were pretty surprised at how comfortable the bed was, parking was easy and close enough to our room and the rooms were very reasonably priced. Im used to $250+/rooms and this was under $200/room. Slept until 10am and only woke up cause my alarm went off. I normally wake up by 8am in places like this. I could probably have slept until noon no problem. Glad i found this spot, now i have a proven place if needed for this socal-norcal trek that we make a few times a year read more

Warning - Bedbugs in Room 219 I'm a business traveler who has stayed in hundreds of Best Western properties over the years with overall great experiences. So I was disheartened to wake up at 3am on the first night of my stay (after having checked the sheets before going to bed) to find bed bugs biting and crawling on me. I left my belongings in the room to avoid spreading bedbugs back to my home. The hotel manager and night clerk refunded my stay, but neither they nor Best Western Corporate were interested in compensating me for my clothes (which they offered to wash, although I was not willing to take that risk) or luggage (which I also had to throw away). I have had scarring from the bites (I'm allergic to most bug bites), so I wanted to warn others to be extra careful if you're planning to stay at this location. read more

Headed to San Francisco and wanted to stay at a halfway point hotel (from LA) that isn't called Harris Ranch. Found the Apricot Inn in Firebaugh, about 2.5 hours south of SF Bay Area. Was pleasantly surprised by friendly staff, the clean and modern room and they provide you with an early morning breakfast in the lobby. The property is well maintained and the pool area was clean...plus, you can walk to a number of well-known eateries (McDonalds, Subway, etc.) to grab a bite. It was super quiet at night and no surprise, you're adjacent to the farmland. My one and only complaint is the toiletries in the shower..pump action body wash, shampoo, and conditioner with the brand name Argan Oil?! This cannot stand, need an upgrade! Ended up needing to have our truck towed and staying the night here. I have stayed at the Best Western Apricot Inn before and they are an excellent road side motel off I-5. This place can get pretty busy with truckers, construction workers, and travelers that need a place to rest. It was especially packed this weekend. The hotel itself is your standard Best Western setup. You get a room with the amenities: flat screen TV, all the channels on DirecTv, coffee maker with K-cups, microwave, fridge and disposable cups. Having a working fridge was key as I was carrying a ton of leftover food in a cooler that need needed to be kept cold. The breakfast options are limited right now due to COVID and there is only grab & go which contains a bag of: yogurt, juice, muffin/granola bar and oatmeal. They haven't restored the hot breakfast yet though I suspect it will be soon based on the county's reopening status and how busy the place got. There are several convenience shops within the gas stations across the street and your typical fast food chains are also in the same plaza. The service here is quite friendly. On the two occasions I was here, they were very helpful. Overall, 3.5 stars with a rounding up to 4 and I would recommend coming here if you need a good night's rest. read more

Fine place to stay the night on a road trip. It's a place to sleep, and it's nice enough. If you have a Tesla, there's a huge charging station next to the hotel - nice feature. Basic food around the area - McD's, Taco Bell and I think a Baja Fresh and Little Cesar's. Bottom line: If you need to stay the night while on a road trip, this place will suit your needs. This may be a truck stop BW but it is very clean and serves a great breakfast. They have something for everyone eggs to muffins and make your own waffles. This is probably the nastiest hotel I have ever been to. Not only are the amenities broken, missing, or supposed to be there but were taken or removed from the room, such as the body wash in the shower dispenser, but some days they didnt even clean our room when they were supposed to. Breakfast was reduced to chewy bars and spoiled yogurt because they are "renovating" their lobby while the temporary one is a shipping container. And yes you read that right, the yogurt was spoiled. Now let me get on to the cockroaches, they are absolutely infested. Crawling on the walls, in the bathroom, crawling on your bed. I woke up in the middle of the night with a cockroach crawling on me. If thats not absolutely foul then I dont know what is. Other insects can crawl under the door no problem so we had to stuff a towel under every night. And one more health concern, the hotel sits next to an almond orchard maybe about 75 yards away and one night they gassed the field with pesticides and it drifted right up to our hotel. There has to be some sort of law protecting people from something like that! However, after it was all said and done my company paid for the rooms and if they hadnt, I would've slept in my car. Because I travel for work I am in best western hotels all over California and this by far takes the cake for the worst one ive been to. Please best western step up your game on this one. Through a third party app I accidentally booked this Best Western when I meant to book at a different Best Western location. My bad. Things happen. So I tried calling the location to tell them what had happened and respectfully ask they cancel the reservation with no penalty. After EIGHT attempts at calling, seven of which consisted of about forty rings and then the line picking up and silence followed by a hang up, someone finally answered. I was told by the person who finally answered I had to contact the third party app. So I did. The third party app then tried to contact the property. After another 45 minutes on hold with the app, they told me the property wasn't answering the phone. So, whoever is supposed to be answering the phones on a Saturday evening between 6-8pm on 12 March 2022 is really, really bad at their job. read more

OK accomodations along I-5 between LA and SF. I guess if we didn't stop here we would've had to wait a seriously long time before we would've found the next stop point. The room was basic Best Western type with the 2 queen beds, mini fridge, microwave, in-room coffee maker etc. There is complimentary Continental breakfast offered although if you wanted something hot you can pop across the street to the Apricot Tree. **Stay Review from Tuesday, December 13, 2022** To start, this location is COMPLETELY understated! The rooms are immaculate, so much so I felt terrible using the space since our stay was one to just catch a few hours sleep. The property was absolutely free of trash, litter, and any sign that it is a PET FRIENDLY property! (Which was a huge win as we were traveling with both of our boys). Additionally, the hotel is mere steps from at least three fueling/truck stations; do not let that deter you - it was quiet through the night and so convenient for getting back on the road the next morning. On the night of December 13 Ms. Valerie, Ms. Monique, and Ms. Jacyln went above and beyond to ensure our short stay was as comfortable and convenient for us as possible (see below details for 'why', if you're interested). Having traveled nearly 3,500 miles in 96 hours; each of my party was thoroughly exhausted and desperately seeking a hotel that could accommodate four adults (one of which was a mid-80 year old senior and also disabled) and our two big, but trained and lovable boys. After about 12 phone calls to various hotels and motels we finally decided it was this Best Western location or BUST! The Lord heard us and He responded by sending these 3 angels to give us shelter when we needed it most! I am not sure how Best Western awards their employees, but these girls (and their entire team) deserve something awesome!! **LENGTHY DETAILS** Within 48 hours my mother, husband, and myself made a plan to drive from Northern Washington State to Los Angeles to collect our Uncle/Great-Uncle from a senior care facility - consider it a "rescue" if you will. We made the drive south in just over 15 hours. Once arrive in Los Angeles we spent the entirety of the 48 hours there getting our family's affairs in order to transport our senior and disabled uncle home with us to Northern Washington. Having gotten everything in order that was necessary we departed Los Angeles the afternoon of Tuesday December 13, 2022. As night began to set in and the traffic cleared we decided it was time to begin looking for a place to stop for the night; mainly for the sake of our Uncle but the three of us had not stopped since leaving our home(s). After multiple phone calls seeking a motel or hotel that could accommodate our group we happened upon the Best Western Apricot Inn. Made the call, asked the questions, got the answers, put the address into our navigation and set on toward the hotel. As soon as we arrived we noticed it's proximity to several fuel stations; including the ONE station my husband allows us to put in our vehicles; Chevron. As my husband and Great-Uncle sat in the car with our dogs, my mother and I went inside to check the group in. Upon greeting and supplying the necessary information we learned the ADA room available had no hot water. This, however, was no stress to our group because we did not need the ADA room for the sake of "ADA" (my husband and I are trained licensed health care professionals in Washington state so transferring and such things that make ADA rooms so convenient were not necessarily things/items needed). We explained the entirety of the situation to the 3 girls named above and they immediately went to work brainstorming how they could make this work for us, as the only issue we had was the ability to shower my uncle, who stands 6 foot 3 inches tall; the ADA shower was the one necessary item for the stay. As we continued the check in process 2 of 3 girls mentioned an idea - placing a pool chair in the shower in a standard room. Blessed heavens it worked out so perfectly well, compiled with the items named above, we nearly stayed an extra day for further rest and convalescence. Each member of our party, four legged included, was able to get a beautiful and uninterrupted night of sleep. And, wake to a breakfast, hot and filling. Perfect to prepare for the drive that lay ahead of us. As we departed, the ability to cross the road into the fuel station was beyond compare. We fueled up, filled our road snack compartment, beverage selection and made the final 1,200 mile drive home. Ms. Valerie, Ms. Monique, and Ms. Jaclyn; regardless of what you believe in, you ladies were sent to our party from the gracious arms of the Lord and comforting arms of Pele (Mother Earth). After 2 decades in customer and client based work myself, you have successful futures ahead! One final note: Ladies! The joy, the sarcasm, the freedom you presented to my mother and I upon check in; the world will try to steal that in many ways. Do not allow it! BEWARE. These people are thieves. I stayed one night last week and paid cash. They wanted a credit card on file which I gave them. They then also charged my credit card for the room. When I became aware of the charge I called. At first they kept denying I paid cash; however I advised them that I had retained my receipt showing it was paid in cash. They then changed their tune and said it would be refunded in 5-7 days. Needless to say, it was not. I called and spoke with the General Manager who was very rude who now says it will take 30 business days to refund. I am filing complaints with Best Western Corporate and the Better Business Bureau. I also plan on filing a police report because, I believe this to be theft. read more

This is just a pit stop hotel. The main reception area is not a representation of the actual hotel room. We checked in around 3 am and got a room with two beds. As soon as we opened the door to the room the odor hit me in the face even through the face mask I was wearing. I immediately wanted to just sleep in the car. But it was only for a few hours. You can tell the room hadn't been cleaned in quite some time because the layer of dust on everything was thick. There was a dirty used towel on the raggedy ac unit. Gnats and flies were everywhere. The tub had not been cleaned and the dirt stains showed as proof. I couldn't wait to just sleep and had to sleep with my clothes on on top of the covers. I dared not pull them back to use. read more

We found this hotel kinda by accident after trying to stop in Santa Nella, where the parking lot lizards we obviously present. I called the hotel direct, better rate then hotels.com. The front desk clerk was professional, nice and prompt. We checked in late, around 1030pm. I expected freeway noise and was pleasantly suprised at how quiet it was. The room was spacious, well furnished (with a sitting chair, desk & wardrobe), and had all the amenities you may want (coffee maker, coffee,tea,hairdryer and a microwave) . The hotel also has a guest coin laundry, outside pool and breakfast. They say the breakfast is continential, however, it offers hot waffles, oatmeal, cold cerial, fresh fruit,fruit cocktail,coffee, tea, juice and milk. It was a good value for the money. The bed was comfortable, perhaps one of the most comfortable of our trip. The evening and the morning staff were all very nice and personable. I'd recomend to a friend and also allow my mom to stay here :) Even my clean freak girlfriend was happy here :) read more

Terrible Best Western. I should of just driven the extra 4 hours to L.A. I paid $160.00 for a room with uncomfortable beds, dirty, moldy bathroom, and a heater that I had to eventually turn off because it was so loud. I was able to use the remote for the T.V. after I cleaned the blood spots off. STOP! You must read this review ! I left a very priceless family heirloom in our room. We were two hours away from the hotel when I realized I had left it! When I called the staff immediately looked for my prized possession and found it! Not only did they find it but they are sending it to me!! I am beyond relieved!! My son blew a tire while driving and came upon this motel by chance. Although the immediate area was forgotten or forsaken (restaurants boarded and tagged in graffiti), this motel was exceptionally clean and the staff was friendly. My son and I were on an "epic" (he's a teenager, so his term) road trip. It was dark and we were tired. Turning to Yelp for "advice" we found good reviews on this place. We called and spoke to a lovely lady and booked a room. When we got there, we were pleased to see that the parking looked "safe" (for both the car, and for us). Very quiet. The room was better than expected and the beds were very comfortable. Price was very nice, too! If we're in the area again, and need a place, we'll definitely stay here again. FIVE STARS! read more

We've stayed in this hotel many times and never had an unpleasant experience. However, this time was a different story. I accidentally left my robe behind. I am positive of this as we were on a road trip that was our first stop and when we arrived that night, first thing I did was got comfy. The next night when we reached our next destination, NO ROBE. I called right away to the Best Western Apricot Inn and asked if they had found my robe. Is this a palace of resort luxury? No, of course not. It's a Best Western, people. But it is just off the I-5 and an oasis in that stretch of farm country, especially during the hot summer. I was driving back to San Diego and decided I was too tired to do the Grapevine at night. So I pulled off in Firebaugh when I saw the BW sign. I didn't know what to expect and I didn't care, really, at that point, but I was surprised by the obvious care put into the maintenance of the place. The staff was extremely friendly, the room was clean, and the pool area looked fully stocked with a sparkling pool and plenty of chairs and towels. While I wanted only coffee in the morning, the breakfast setup looked nice with good options--far more than you might expect for a roadside motel. The free wifi worked well which was nice since I was coming back from camping and had been out of the loop for a little while. This little stopover is perfect for the traveler. There are three or four gas stations clustered together so you can get your favorite fossil fuel and also stock up at the mini-marts for your further travels. Admittedly, there is not a lot of choices on the 5 through the Valley, but I would push through to Firebaugh anyway if I had to make a stop on my journey. read more

The commute from San Jose to San Diego is long. If you drive safely and stop for breaks, it could be 8 hours or more. If you have a kid, like I do, the drive is much, much longer. I appreciated the Apricot Inn restaurant because it was not too crowded and the food was decent. There is a little gift shop attached to it with random, old toys. I wouldn't recommend looking for anything here, but it was nice to kill some time. One little thing that makes this restaurant memorable was that there were old lunch boxes and thermos throughout the dining area. That's a collection I haven't seen in any other location. If you're hungry, I recommend the carne asada with eggs. They give you plenty of meat and eggs to fill the hungriest stomach! read more

The management/front desk are great and helpful. The hotel is older and run down. It is overpriced too. We paid less to stay on the 4 star Westin Pasadena the previous night. But we were weary on a long drive home, stopped in to get gas and saw this hotel and stayed overnight. There is no alternative around. We were offered over the phone the same rate we found online. The parking lot is strategically filled by construction trucks and equipment. During our stay, it appeared to be full of construction workers. However, it was quiet. Around 8:00 am is when several trucks with diesel engines/squeaking began warming and idling in the parking lot which can disturb people not awake at that time. Also, the room next to us had a large dog that barked and had to be calmed when people walked by. In the morning it was whining. But overall, it was a quiet hotel stay. We stayed during the pandemic so breakfast was not hot meaning no eggs or waffles etc. I mention it because I have read angry reviews from people at hotels because they wanted a hot breakfast but during the pandemic there are not any. Grab and go breakfast was disappointing as it was high in sugar content (Nature Valley Granola Bar, Otis Spunkmeyer Muffin, Apple, Juice/Coffee), so we did not eat it. Yogurt, cereal, milk, fruit etc would be a better option. We do not eat fast food either, so we will find something as we get closer to the San Francisco Bay Area, including good coffee. In the parking lot/walkable are fast food places such as Mc Donald's, Subway, Baja Fresh and gas stations for foods etc. No food delivery services serve this area that I could find after trying several. Our preference is organic food. Again it is our preference and many people do not eat the same way. So if this is a concern for you, just prepare ahead of time and bring something along with you. There is a sizeable refrigerator and microwave in room. Overall, great, friendly, helpful staff, a decent night's sleep and break from driving so I think the hotel served its purpose. read more

Driving from Oregon to San Diego this stop wasn't planned but alas after 12 hours of driving a good nights rest is all I needed. Normally I'm not a clean freak but appreciate it when a motel/hotel takes care of their rooms and makes an effort. Unfortunately this is not the case here. When arriving the women working the front desk is very helpful & informative. She knows her stuff & is great at her job. She also notified us that there was a wedding party booking most of the hotel, all she had was a smoking room (they still exist? ). We were so tired, I didn't care either way, just get me to bed! Once arriving in the room & airing it out a bit, and a bit more I started to realize this room was filthy. First off the side bed table has ring stains from a few glasses, shrugged it off, maybe they forgot about a table, it could happen, right? I took a napkin & some water to wipe it off, done & gone! Then there's the case of the random tissue & white speckled dirt in the closet. I wonder how long that's been there... Yuck! The bathroom seemingly outdated looks ok, however the shower curtain has some random rust stains on it. Then, there's the bed. Yet again it looks ok, not the newest sheets, even some sheet ware that makes some spots super thin it causes a discoloration. OK, I can deal with that. Then... then the what's this stain game ... on my pillow. I can see it clearly through the pillow case, but it's not from being old.... I take the pillow case off to find a BLOOD stain. Yes, so gross. As it's on the pillow "protector" which you would assume they wash & change out. It doesn't look like an attempt at washing away a blood stain, stain. Grossed out, disgusting & I'm so tired. This is beyond disgusting and shameful. This room was clearly not thoroughly cleaned if cleaned at all. I won't be coming back nor recommending this place to anyone. I would straight up leave right now, but I'd be a danger on the road this exhausted. This situation stinks & no one should go through this. What a bummer! **UPDATE** Found another blood stained pillow & on another a huge drool stain. We grabbed our pillows and went to the front desk. We were told she made a note so we can be compensated for our trouble & traded out our pillows (only had 2 left out of the 3 dirty ones, but I'll take it). On our walk back however someone from the wedding party just missed vomiting on us & the brand new pillows. I've had enough for tonight, aprican't wait to get out of here. read more

We get here late at night and are charged $100 for two adults and one child. The desk clerk is polite. We get our room and open up the door and the light switch doesn't work. The table lamp also doesn't work. The standing lamp by the bed works. There is one outlet behind the television that has a muliple outlet adapter plugged into it. This one outlet is trying to power a television, microwave, alarm clock, refrigerator and a power strip which also has a table lamp plugged into it. I had to pull the furniture out to get to all the cords and found that half of the outlet is dead, so we are going tonight without the television and alarm clock so that we can have the refrigerator and table lamp and microwave. Then my son shows me the bathroom door won't close because it is warped. It is late enough and I am too tired to drive on or argue my money back, but we sure as heck won't stop here again. Two stars because the bathroom was remodeled even though the door won't close. read more
